Alfie had a great couple of days with Kim. At first he was a little nervous and had a little toilet accident (he gets like that when nervous) but Kim called me straight away to let me know she had to bath him etc and to make sure he was ok, he settled in nicely after. Was giving plenty cuddles and kisses. I would 1000000% recommend Kim to anyone. She is so nice and gives you little updates throughout the day. Alfie had a great time. She took them to the dog park the next morning, he loves it there. Also kept him an extra night as something popped up, was at such short notice too. Thanks again, appreciate it so much ❤️

We had never boarded our border collie Kayleigh before but with growing family responsibilities and lack of availability, we decided to give Rover a go and found Kwok Ho L. From day one we were put at total ease. My husband went round to meet the family and to see where Kayleigh would be staying. A very pet friendly home and perfectly secure garden, with lots of space and toys. On the day of the holiday we of course had the normal nerves of leaving her but these concerns were completely unfounded. Koko and her family welcome Kayleigh like part of the family. Daily photo updates, reassuring us that she had settled in with updates on food and activities. Kayleigh was clearly getting so much love and looked so settled and happy. 100% recommend Koko and we will definitely be using their services again. Thank you Koko and family, Kayleigh is already looking forward to seeing you all again. Lisa and Dean x

Our golden retriever Sally loved her stay with Jamie and Serin. They took such good care of her with plenty of cuddles, walks and playtime. Jamie sent regular updates with photos and videos to let us know how Sally was getting on which really helped me feel at ease as this was the first time we had been away from Sally for any length of time. I would highly recommend Jamie and Serin, your dog is in safe hands with them and will be very happy ?

We feel very privileged that we had chosen Moya, to look after Crumble for a weekend. From our first meeting in March she made us feel so at ease and confident about Crumble's welfare. Her home is lovely and we were happy to leave Crumble. Our dogs are not pets they are significant members of our family and it takes a lot of trust to leave them in someone elses care. No issues on that score with Moya, she came across s a real anilmal lover. On our return Crumble looked in great condition, he was very happy and we have nothing but praise for Moya.

Kaelan looked after our two dogs brilliantly! The collie can be a bit sensitive but Kaelans calm and quiet demeanour suited him. He wasn’t fazed about any of my dogs quirks and sent plenty of pictures and updates! He took them for a proper walk in the woods too so the dogs were happy! I wouldn’t hesitate in booking kaelan again in the future!

About: I’m a proud dog mum to Rosie, my friendly 3-year-old Cavapoo, who loves the company of other dogs and gets along well with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I regularly care for dogs in my home and understand how important it is to provide a safe, loving, and comfortable environment while owners are away. I have a spacious three-bedroom home with a secure, fully fenced garden, as well as plenty of beautiful local walks nearby to keep your dog happy, active, and well cared for. Your dog will be treated as part of the family and receive lots of attention, affection, and exercise during their stay. Dogs are allowed on all furniture and we have no children in our home. It tends to just be myself at home as my partner works offshore. Dog care fits naturally into my daily routine as I work from home full-time and manage my own diary, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide attention, companionship, walks, and toilet breaks throughout the day. My partner works away regularly, so it’s usually just me and my friendly Cavapoo, Rosie, at home. Rosie loves having canine company and enjoys playing in our secure garden as well as exploring the many lovely local walks nearby. This means your dog will never be left alone and will be treated as part of our family during their stay I have a secure, fully fenced garden and a very dog-friendly home where dogs can relax, play, and feel comfortable. I have experience caring for puppies as young as 14 weeks old, as well as adult dogs of different breeds and personalities. My home is calm, safe, and welcoming, with no children or other pets apart from my Cavapoo Rosie. I always aim to provide a loving environment where dogs feel settled, secure, and part of the family.

What a great carer! Our wee beagle pup Mylo just stayed overnight with Audrey and we couldn't be happier with how it went from start to finish. From the moment we dropped him off we felt so reassured he would be in safe hands and Audreys own little dog Tia just added to the experience as Mylo soon found himself a lovely playmate! Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you for giving us peace of mind :-)

Our boy has just returned from 10 nights with Paula. He can be very timid and I think it took him a few days to settle, but Paula persevered with him and took very good care of him. He got lots of walks in the park and we got lots of updates and pictures/videos from Paula which was very reassuring. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Paula again.

Francesca was able to take our dog for a last minute booking for a long weekend after we had been let down with another sitter. Communication was great, she asked lots of questions about our dogs' likes and dislikes before his stay. She sent lots of pictures throughout his stay and plenty of updates. He's a reactive dog and can be nervous on walks but Francesca got on great with him. Wouldn't hesitate to book our dog in again with her 🧡

Wow! Could not be more grateful impressed or recommend more highly! Kim and her husband Ali took the very best care of my nervous pup and treated her to so much love attention and adventures. They took her to a specialist dog park and were playing and chasing with her going above and beyond! I made the booking with a few hours notice for an overnight stay and Kim was so kind and gracious about every step, very understanding and sent loads of updates. Roxy was spoilt with cuddles affection and attention and had the best sleepover party ever - thank you both I feel so lucky to have found you!

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
