“Rhuaraidh and Moira were outstanding dog sitters , very professional and perfect communication , our dog loved being with them and we will definitely re book for future stays .”

“Michelle is amazing. So super glad we found her for our wee Hamish. He had a great time with her. Michelle kept up continually updated. We will 100% be using again and we highly recommend.”

“Wow! Could not be more grateful impressed or recommend more highly! Kim and her husband Ali took the very best care of my nervous pup and treated her to so much love attention and adventures. They took her to a specialist dog park and were playing and chasing with her going above and beyond! I made the booking with a few hours notice for an overnight stay and Kim was so kind and gracious about every step, very understanding and sent loads of updates. Roxy was spoilt with cuddles affection and attention and had the best sleepover party ever - thank you both I feel so lucky to have found you!”

About: I’ve been passionate about dogs for as long as I can remember and have had a few pet dogs in my life. Whilst I don’t have a dog of my own at the moment, I still want to have them in my life albeit part time. In addition to dog sitting for friends and family, I previously volunteered for a charities fostering service puppies for anything up to 6 months. I’ve also attended multiple dog training classes and first aid courses. I’m fortunate to have my own “dog proof” garden with a 6ft fence and dog friendly astro turf so the puppies can get outside rain or shine. I’m an extremely active person and love long walks as much as the puppies do! I currently work from home mon-fri although I’m mainly looking to dog sit on weekends or days off. I’m very much a hands on person when it comes to dogs with lots of play, stimulation and of course… walks! I have a fenced garden with dog friendly artificial grass which allows the dogs to come in and out rain or shine (and without mud!). I’m a very routine-based person and believe that dogs need safe and loving environment but also structure.

“Fester had a lovely stay with Adele, she took exceptional care of him and accepted all of his special quirks and needs. As an older dog he is quite particular and she accommodated everything perfectly. Fester came home happy, bouncy and rested - we will definitely be using Adele again for Fester sitting!”

“Lottie seemed to enjoy her 3 night stay with Angela, her family & her 2 Border Collies. Communication with Angela was excellent, with prompt responses to messages & daily updates/photos on how Lottie was doing. I felt comfortable leaving Lottie with Angela who was friendly & welcoming and asked appropriate questions. Would highly recommend.”

“Elizabeth was amazing and Bonnie thought so too. Very accommodating, thoughtful and great communication. Would highly recommend and will definitely leave Bonnie in her care in the future ☺️”

I take a patient and attentive approach to ensure each dog feels comfortable and well cared for I am currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to play with your pet. I am available in weekdays for your pet . I have a house with more space and glazed garden with a fence so I can assure your pet’s safety and. Also I have very supportive family and who loves pets and I can make sure your pet will have enough love and caring from everyone
“Poppy stayed with Moya for 8 nights while we had a family holiday. I felt at ease leaving her with Moya as she is kind and treats the dogs like family. We came home to a very content little dog. Thank you to Moya for taking care of our girl and will definitely be in touch for any future travels!!”

“This was the first time our dog Alfie stayed with Kellyann and we can definitely say 100 percent we will be using her again! From her coming over to our house to pick him up ( which saved us a lot of bother) to her sending us photos of Alfie enjoying himself and looking relaxed and happy and sending messages to let us know how he was settling and then to top it off dropping him home to us again at a time which suited us , kellyann made the whole process very much stress free, a true dog lover 🐶 would definitely recommend her .”

“We have never left Theo before.this was our first time ever using dog boarding. What can I say from the start when me and my dog theo meet Krzysztof . He was so good with Theo and very patient because Theo can be scared when meeting new people and dogs. But he had the best time with krzysztof and his wife and beautiful dog Cleo. I had total trust that I have rebooked again. So we can go on holiday relax knowing Theo is well looked after and is safe. Can not recommend enough ???”

“What a pleasure it was for Biscuit to spend a few days with Kirsty. It is obvious he enjoyed his stay with her. She is a lovely caring person and I would highly recommend her to all. Thanks once again Kirsty and you will definitely see us again. Bobby, Bernie and Biscuit xx”

“Laura was absolutely fantastic and her and her mum took great care of daphne whilst I had to travel for work. They are lovey people and had a great setup for looking after my 4 legged child. Truly was a home from home and was kept updated throughout daphnes stay. Thank you so much 🐾”

“Felt extremely anxious about leaving Mila with a sitter to go on a holiday. Lesley was understanding and kept an open line of communication throughout my time away. This included photos and videos. Would highly recommend Lesley for looking after your animals. I have already sorted my next booking.”

“Nicola was an absolutely fantastic sitter for Luna! Having experience with rescue dogs, Nicola was very receptive to Luna’s needs and asked all the right questions before we dropped Luna off, and was willing to meet Luna beforehand so we had complete confidence in her (we’ve had bad experience with unqualified sitters leaving us stranded at short notice). Our confidence was not misplaced as Nicola did everything to make sure Luna was happy and engaged during her stay, and kept us up to date with pictures and messages. Nicola will definitely be our first choice going forward :)”

“Tommy absolutely loved his time with Megan, infact he didn't want to leave, Megan provided updates and pic's of his overnight stay and I felt totally relaxed leaving Tommy for the night, will deffinetly be using Megan again and Tommy cant wait for the next time. Would 100% recommend Megan to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Suzanne was fantastic sending updates every day and Peggy loving the attention and getting spoiled with all the cuddles, Peggy made herself right at home and went exploring round the house testing the beds out to see which one was the comfiest, will definitely leave her with Suzanne again.”

Archie had an amazing weekend with this lovely family! He absolutely loved spending time with Coco, and it was clear he was treated like one of their own. They took him to the beach, gave him lots of cuddles and attention, and kept him happy and well cared for throughout his stay. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommended! 🐾❤️

We had frequent updates about the pets and I could tell she genuinely cared for the pets. When we collected our pets, they looked like they enjoyed the stay! I had only a small communication problem with the pick up time being wrong but more importantly, the pets were well looked after.

Katie did a wonderful job looking after our elderly family dog for the weekend of our wedding. We had been dreading leaving our wee elderly lady with a “stranger” as she’s such a wee old soul & has separation anxiety and hates other dogs & she’s very demanding for food :.p Katie was such a star in keeping her company and a lovely calm quiet environment with lots of reassurance. We were welcomed to visit Katie at her home before the stay which really put us at ease that Skye would be in good hands. Then during the weekend of her stay whenever we sent a message to ask how she was doing we got really quick replies and photos. It was so reassuring to know our little lady was relaxed and well cared for! Would recommend Katie to anyone & definitely book her again without hesitation:) Thanks again 💜

Caitlin was fantastic taking care of my collie Scooter, she provided me with plenty of photos throughout the 17 nights he was in her care. Scooter looked extremely happy in every photo, i could tell she was taking very good care of him. Caitlin is a lovely girl and i wouldn’t suggest another soul if anyone asks me about doggy boarding! Thanks Caitlin, scooter will be back in the future!

We met Pauline before the booking to introduce her to Angus and he was very much at ease around her which made us feel assured we had made the right choice. Pauline welcomed Angus into her home and made sure he was well looked after. She kept in contact daily with updates and pictures of Angus enjoying his own wee holiday. Thanks again Pauline for looking after Angus 😊

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
