“Michelle welcomed our wee 4.5 month old Miniature Schnauzer puppy with open arms. She took note of his medical conditions and medication if it became necessary. She played with him alongside her adorable wee Yorkie boy called Ollie. She fed our boy, let him out at regular intervals and also walked him for 20-25 mins - all this in the space of 6+ hours, so she did so well with him. I would easily hire Michele again to look after our boy. Thanks Michele!! Top marks to you and also wee Ollie too!! ☺️⭐”

“Would highly recommend Craig who looked after our German shepherd for 5 days. He was well walked and played with too. He was thoroughly spoiled by Craig and his wife. Craig also kept us updated with photos on their walks etc which reassured us. Would definitely ask Craig to look after our dog again !!”

“Benny and Harper stayed with Jessica for 2 nights and I would 100% recommend her. This was the first time we had used the Rover website and Jessica kept us well informed throughout the booking process. Drop off and pick up went without any issues at all and Jessica sent through loads of pictures/videos whilst we were away which was really nice and reassuring. The dogs loved there stay, large enclosed back garden and plenty of room to play and lots of walks which was ideal. Again, we would 100% recommend and will definitely book again next time we are away! Thanks again Jessica! :)”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for the past ten years. I have a 10 year old Beagle and a 9 year old Cavachon. Any dogs who come to stay must get on well with my dogs and my two primary school aged children. I’m off work Friday to Monday so I’m in an ideal position to dog sit for weekend breaks but I am more than willing to look after your dog during the week too as long as they can be left for a few hours. I will do my best to follow your pets normal routine and provide a fun, safe space for them to stay. I work part time so I have plenty of time for dog walking and company. I live in an area surrounded by fields and fun places to walk. I have a fully enclosed garden. My dogs are allowed on the furniture so the more the merrier, however, I will always follow your rules. I want to create an environment that you can enjoy a break away knowing your dog is also enjoying a holiday. Both my dogs are on tablets daily so I have experience in administering those. I’ve had my dogs since puppies so I have experience from puppy to seniors.
“We left Fergus with Pam for 12 days and are really delighted by how well he has been looked after. We received lots of photos, videos and updates, he looks to have had a fantastic time. Would definitely be comfortable leaving Fergus in Pam’s care again! Thank you!”
“Daisy is so excited when she recognises the place. She didn't want to leave to come back to mine. She is enjoying so much the garden, treats, the sofa, walks and belly rubs. I know she is well looked after at Nicola and Kayleigh' and they are very trustworthy.”

“Leigha looked after my dogs at quite short notice and I have to say the whole experience was brilliant. I was sent regular updates on how my dogs were settling in which was very reassuring. I’d highly recommend her services”

“Bear loved his stay with Zena. We had the chance to meet before his stay and Zena sent regular photos of Bear enjoying himself out walking/at the beach/cooling off in a paddling pool/resting on his bed in her house. Zena really gave me the confidence that Bear was in good hands so we could relax and enjoy our holidays. I would definitely use her again.”

Michele was just wonderful with our two boys. From the start to the finish I had full confidence in her professionalism and dedication to the well-being of dogs and that her care would be excellent. She puts real thought into every aspect of boarding pets. Also, her warmth and the regular pictures and status updates confirmed that our pups were not only in good care, but also loved! Highly recommend.

Niamh and her family were fantastic while looking after Feile. I had received regular updates and photos throughout Feiles stay. Niamh was very accommodating and extremely friendly. I knew Feile was in great hands. Will definitely book with Niamh again if in the area. Thank you!

Can’t thank them enough. Dogs were so happy and looked after so well. One dog on tablets which was no problem being administered. They were walked every day. Lovely couple made our holiday even more enjoyable knowing dogs were safe happy and very well cared for. Thank you so much x

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
