“Anne Marie took great care of my small dog Buzz. She ensured he is taken care of and provided a safe clean and enjoyable environment. I would highly recommend Anne Marie to anyone looking for a trusted dog boarding service.”

“Kirsty knew how anxious I was about leaving my boy. She assured me that she would treat him like one of her own and believe me she certainly did. Sadly my boy was old with complex health issues and needed veterinary care. Kirsty was amazing and stayed with my boy throughout for which I will never forget her kindness towards my wee Teddy boy. Kirsty kept me updated daily on how my boy was, sending pictures and messages. I know my boy was well looked after and would like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for the exceptional care she gave to my boy. Sadly my boy passed and I am heartbroken but Kirsty stayed with him to the end and I will be forever thankful for that. Thanks again Kirsty for all your support xxx”

“We couldn't have asked for more! Koko, Yoyo and family were absolutely impeccable from start to finish. We loved receiving all the regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that our pups were happy, relaxed, and treated like part of the family, they truly felt at home. We picked up two very content dogs, and we're so grateful for the wonderful care they received. Cooper and Lando are very much looking forward to their holiday in October. Thank you so much once again! 🥹🥰🐾🐶”

“Bowser was really well cared for during his overnight stay. I was kept updated throughout the sta6rt, so I felt really reassured that bowser was doing well and having a great time Orla and Aine will be my first port of call next time I need him looked after”

About: I'm a caring, reliable pet sitter who genuinely enjoys spending time with animals and looks forward to getting to know each pet's personality. Being an outdoors person, I'm always happy to head out for long walks and explore new routes with energetic dogs, but I'm just as content spending time at home with a pet who prefers a slower pace and a good cuddle. I understand that every pet is different, so I take the time to learn their routine, preferences and little quirks. Whether that's walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply keeping them company while you're away, I'll make sure they feel comfortable, safe and well looked after. Friends and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and one of the things I enjoy most about pet sitting is the chance to spend time with animals and build a bond with them. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I'll always keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind while you're away. I work from home, which means I can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day and easily adapt my schedule around their needs. I enjoy having animals around and tend to structure my day to include playtime, feeding routines and companionship. I also love getting outdoors, exploring new places and taking long walks, so active pets will have plenty of opportunities for exercise and adventure. I understand that pets are happiest when they feel safe, comfortable and secure. I take the time to learn each pet's routine and personality, ensuring they receive the care and attention they're used to. As I work from home, pets are rarely left alone for long periods and can enjoy a calm environment with plenty of company. I will always treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect that I would expect for my own.

I have extensive knowledge in dog behaviour due to working in these environments. I’ve also owned my own dogs in the past too! On the farm we had a border collie, he’s currently living his best life retired living on the farm I also had a jack Russell and a pug x Pom so I’ve really experienced them all! I’m a firm believer in providing excellent care for your pooches! “From start to finish, Claire was brilliant. So warm and caring with our wee old man French Bulldog, Frank, and he had an absolute ball. Her home is lovely and welcoming, and she and her wee daughter were great with him, he settled in straight away. Claire kept in touch while we were away, sending photos and videos, which really put our minds at ease. Frank barely wanted to come home. If you’re looking for someone genuinely caring to look after your pup, Claire’s your girl. Couldn’t recommend her enough.”

About: I've taken care of many dogs, and have experience with both puppies and elderly dogs. I'm attentive, and will make sure to give your pup the attention they need and deserve. I am not working, so I can spend 24/7 with your dog. This makes me ideal for dogs who suffer from separation anxiety. I can do as many walks as your dog requires, and your dog will be treated as part of the family. I will be able to constantly monitor your dog if required. I have a fenced garden with plenty of place for your dog to run around in. I will send plenty of photos and make sure I'm constantly available if you have any worries.

About: Hi, I’m Avery, I’m currently free over the summer before returning to college as a mature student this September to follow my aspirations in the animal care sector! I've had lifelong experience with pets, both my own and those cherished by friends, family and neighbours. From raising a tiny Jack Russell puppy into a fine old girl to looking after my aunt's sick German Shepherd (miss you Balin x), I'm certainly comfortable with all shapes and sizes. Thankfully, based where I am, I have a quiet and private back garden as well as some lovely green routes through the country park not a 5 minutes walk away from home. While I'm fully flexible over the summer, I'll be returning to college at the end of August. After which I'll be available Weekends and Evenings, as well as fully open Tuesdays and Fridays. Ordinarily, I'm quite a night owl so I'm also more than happy to tire out any hyper pups should they need it. I have an enclosed garden with plenty room to tear about and more than enough space inside the house to keep even big dogs adventurous. Sadly, I've no pets of my own currently but I am very eager to fill that furry friend shaped hole in my heart. My partner whom I live with is also experienced with both dogs and cats and may be enlisted to help with caring for your pets- though only if that's an arrangement you're comfortable with. We're more than happy to make introductions for her too!
“I was nervous leaving Amber as it was our first time but Johnston was great and kept me up to date with everything. Lots of photos and info with what she was up to. Would highly recommend.”

“We left Maxwell with Sara and her partner Calum for 5 days and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Max is epileptic and requires a little extra care than most dogs, which they handled with ease. We were kept updated constantly with pictures and videos, so we were never worried. You could tell they were a perfect fit for max. He is now curled up at the end of the bed, which is a very good sign. Don’t know who had a better holiday, us or young Max. Thank you again to Sara and Calum”

“Our 11 month old Staffy Albert had a great time with Tracey for an overnight stay. We had very good communication before Alberts' stay and I was kept updated during the stay. Would definitely book Tracey again.”

“Janou did an amazing job looking after our dog. Rocco had a great time staying with Janou, who gave us updates on how Rocco was doing and we felt at ease knowing that our dog was well looked after. Would recommend and thank you Janou!”

“This was our 2nd time using Dane and he was excellent, as expected. Communication was good and Gordon was very happy to see Dane when we dropped her off. Will continue to use him in the future.”

“Millie had a great time again with Kirsty and Liam, she was sad to leave and loved her holidays either them! We got regular updates that showed us how much fun she was having and made us feel at ease! It was clear how much she loved her adventures!”

“What can I say, other than, I've already got other bookings with Dylan! He is good with updates and pics, you can tell he really cares about the animals, and my Amira has a nice chilled time with him and I trust that he will look after her.”

I can not even begin to thank Alexandra for her looking after my babies, one of them is highly anxious and was a little difficult at times but Alexandra handled him with great care and attention. He took to her straight away which is amazing in it's self. Safe to say he trusts her and they will not being going to anyone else moving forward. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mark was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to admit I was quite nervous about leaving my girl, Cookie, with anyone. We had only rehomed her a few months earlier and she was experiencing separation anxiety, so finding the right care was really important to us. From the very start, Mark was amazing with Cookie and she settled almost immediately. He made sure to stick closely to her daily routines, especially around feeding, which was important for us. Cookie had the most wonderful and active weekend, enjoying the outdoors with Mark, his partner Lucy, and their dogs, Marlo and Flash. We received regular daily updates, photos, and videos, which really helped us relax and enjoy our time away, knowing that Cookie was safe, settled, and having a great time. If I’m being completely honest, I was worried she was enjoying herself so much that she wouldn’t want to come home! I would highly recommend Mark to anyone looking for day care, overnight stays, or holiday care for their fur babies. Cookie will definitely be spending all her future holidays with Mark.

Beth looked after Bertie so well - she is reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about Bertie’s wellbeing an enjoyed his company. We received plenty of photos and regular updates, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She truly went above and beyond to make sure Bertie was happy and well looked after. I would highly recommend Beth to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. 🐾

Our Miniature Schnauzer [Finn] stayed with Jennifer for 9 nights from 28 August to 6 September 2025 inclusive. As an 8-year-old dog who had only been bordered once before when he was much younger, we were a little apprehensive about how Finn would react during our absence. We needn't have worried as Finn took to Jennifer immediately [at the pre-meeting] and settled in well during his stay. Jennifer is both friendly & professional and someone who is clearly knowledgeable about dogs. We would have no qualms about placing Finn in Jennifer's care again and will do so I'm sure. Highly recommended. Tony and Margaret Cowden Greenock

Kristin was fantastic with my 5 month old jack russell. I felt comfortable leaving him knowing he was with someone who adored dogs and the meet with the family dog was great. Amazing company for Milo hes got a new friend. Updates through out his stay and made me feel at ease. Would highly recommend and we will be using Kristin again for milo

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
