“Donald looked after Chorizo for us for one day and night whilst he was recovering from being neutered. This was highly appreciated as Chorizo had a cone on and needed extra supervision during toilet breaks and when eating and drinking. Thank you again.”

About: I have taken care of a wide range of breeds from pomeranians (my own) to collies, to vislas, to crossbreeds. My home has a gated garden therefore freedom to roam outside securely! I own my own dog Winston and he gets three walks a day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. I work from home some days during the week and these days I have the back door open for the dog to roam in and out the house as he pleases. I have eyes on him at all times as my dining table is located at the back door which is beneficial. I have one friendly dog who will keep your dog company and a fenced garden. My neighbours are an elderly couple who give my dog one treat every day through the fence and they love it when I take my other neighbours dogs for the day, the more the merrier. My area has lots of nice woodland walks near by and I have a car to travel to spots in the area - dogs will ALWAYS be kept safely on the lead. Open to altering my day to fit around the specific needs of your dog.
“I can highly recommend Heather as she is very caring and friendly. My dog Millie stayed at Heather's house in August and I received messages and photos from Heather while I was away. Millie had a fantastic stay with Heather and her lovely family and I will definitely use this very dedicated pet sitter again”

Marley likes other animals :) I have my own business so work from home a lot of the time. Fenced in back garden and close to the beach for walks.

“This was Ollie’s second stay, and once again, she was absolutely fantastic! It’s such a relief knowing he’s in such caring and capable hands. She kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear Ollie was happy, relaxed, and enjoying himself just as much as the first time. He settled in so well, which really shows how comfortable he feels with her. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and will definitely continue booking with her in the future!”

“This lady is fab & very very good with dogs.... So friendly & welcoming to not just my dog, but my kids & myself too! Dolly loved her stay and had even been working at things usually quite anxious with. So nice to pick up and see how happy content Dolls was with her & family. Knowing my dolls is well looked after great peace of mind . Thank u so much and hopefully see soon.”

“Dora had a lovely stay with Jessica. Jessica is so friendly and Dora was very comfortable with her straight away. Dora went for a walk and a wee visit to meet some of Jessica’s family, and as we picked her up in the morning, they drove by and Dora was delighted to see them again! It was lovely - like Dora had been part of the family for 24 hours! No stress, no drama just a very happy dog. If we are ever in need of a dog sitter again in these we will definitely see if Jessica is available.”

“Arlo’s first time staying with Megan and he loved it Megan is really lovely Communication was great and so accommodating in extending Arlo’s stay. Hopefully be back soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I’m a reliable, caring dog lover with plenty of experience looking after dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve regularly dog sat for friends and family, including large breeds, reactive dogs, and energetic puppies, so I’m confident adapting to each dog’s individual needs. My home is always fully stocked for furry visitors, with beds, bowls, toys, and treats (with your permission), creating a safe and welcoming environment. I’ll follow your dog’s usual routine, provide plenty of love, exercise, and attention, and I’m happy to administer medication if needed. I work Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, so I’m currently available for weekend boarding and pet sitting, as well as evening walks and drop-in visits during the week. I have a secure, fully fenced garden and plenty of lovely local walking routes to keep them happy and active. My home is fully equipped with everything they might need, including comfortable dog beds, bowls, toys, poop bags, treats (with your permission), and a large crate if they’re crate trained or prefer their own safe space. I’ll follow your dog’s usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special requirements, so they feel relaxed, safe, and right at home during their stay.
“Sammy has come home from Ching’s a super tired boy! He had so much fun on his week’s stay with Ching & her husband. They were both amazing with Sammy. Really communicative, daily photo uploads to show us how he was getting on & settling as we were nervous due to never boarding him before. They really put our minds at ease & really catered to Sammy’s high energy, breed specific needs. We will absolutely be using Ching again in the future! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our boy ❤️”

“Another wonderful stay for Winnie! Winnie stayed with Koko, YoYo and their children for a week this time at 7 months old. Minute Winnie saw the family again she flew into the house and never looked back. And by the looks of it, the full week was full of love, fun and new experiences with people she just absolutely adores. Communication from Yoyo as always is wonderful and thorough. I was never left guessing about he she was and as I was nervous about her eating, my worries were put to ease daily and we had no problems. This family love my dog. And I can’t ask anymore than that. It’s so clear how much they involve her with their own activities and how they trust her to get involved with their children’s activities and even their own pets. Winnie has had some really wonderful experiences spending time with the family and that’s such invaluable experience for her as she grows. Winnie has another holiday booked here soon. And to be honest, I’ll probably have to book the odd couple of days here and there even when I don’t need it as Winnie just loves them too. She came home a happy dog who missed them for a good couple of days after. Wonderful boarder I am so happy I found them!”

“Jennifer looked after our two cocker spaniels overnight. This was her 1st time looking after our girls and she came for a meet and greet a couple of weeks before and learned all about our dogs and their needs. They were treated as part of her family, and walked several times with lots of photos to update us along the way. The dogs seemed very happy and relaxed. I would not hesitate to use Jennifer again or recommend Jennifer to anyone needing dog sitting in the Ayrshire area.”

I love spending time with them and make sure they always have fun along with a deserved time off to relax. I’m Working part-time, I am not available the weekends right now but I’m free midweek. I also have a 10 months lab which he is so friendly and full of energy puppy I always make sure I spend time with dogs, going for long adventures, includes normal walks (countryside or beach), playgrounds, feeding dogs accordingly to their diet, making sure they have plenty of space and all the attention & love that they deserve.
“Soooo glad we booked through Natalie! Got such a good vibe from the get go. Willow had her first overnight stay with Natalie and it was clear that she enjoyed it. She was quite tentative at first which we were expecting as she’s quite a nervous wee pupster anyway. But Natalie sent plenty of pics and videos which showed Willow having a right good sniff and social time with the other dogs. Her tail was held nice and high. Could tell Natalie really knows her stuff and excellent at making the dogs feel at ease. Paul’s system of introducing each of the dogs to Willow one at a time before them all being together was so effective- was the best way to ease Willow into the environment. I really appreciated how reassuring both Natalie and Paul were throughout Willow’s stay. Will absolutely be booking with Natalie & Paul again!”

“Scott was absolutely fantastic felt so at ease great communication and my boy has a heart murmur needs medication and this was not an issue so comforting to know I have a local pet sitter I trust 5*!!”

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
