“We had never boarded our border collie Kayleigh before but with growing family responsibilities and lack of availability, we decided to give Rover a go and found Kwok Ho L. From day one we were put at total ease. My husband went round to meet the family and to see where Kayleigh would be staying. A very pet friendly home and perfectly secure garden, with lots of space and toys. On the day of the holiday we of course had the normal nerves of leaving her but these concerns were completely unfounded. Koko and her family welcome Kayleigh like part of the family. Daily photo updates, reassuring us that she had settled in with updates on food and activities. Kayleigh was clearly getting so much love and looked so settled and happy. 100% recommend Koko and we will definitely be using their services again. Thank you Koko and family, Kayleigh is already looking forward to seeing you all again. Lisa and Dean x”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with anyone out with our immediate family and we’re a little nervous but Cara was excellent and Cassie seemed sad to leave! We got loads of videos and pics of the fun being had and we have now already booked for our summer holidays! Top class and couldn’t ask for anything more”

“Nicola and Tom went way beyond what we expected from a dog sitter. Our Cavalier was given the five star treatment with plenty of exercise and a welcome home. We were provided with daily updates via WhatsApp while we were away to reassure us that our dog was settling in to his temporary home. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Nicola and Tom and would thoroughly recommend them - they were a pleasure to deal with.”

“Gina, looked after our old dog Paddy. When we picked him up he was so settled and had obviously had a fab weekend Gina was so attentive to his needs and it made us so relaxed to leave him We will definetley be using Gina's service again and our old boy loved it.”

“Our warmest recommendations! Gill and family took such good care of our little maltipoo, when we were away for 12 days. We felt very safe leaving her in their care and returned to a happy little dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave her in their care again.”

“Fiona was a great sitter for our Harry. She kept us up to date, bathed Harry due to skin issues and he loved his time there. So grateful to Fiona and her family for taking great care of him.”

“David (and Hazel) were wonderful with Hamish. They really love dogs, and you can tell by how settled and happy Hamish was when he stayed overnight in their home. We will definitely be back and I would recommend David & Hazel to everyone!”

“Dean was very welcoming and took care of our dog very well. We are very pleased with his support with Milo while we were away. We will definitely reach out to him in future dog care. Thanks a lot, Dean.”

“Suzi was very well looked after by Alice. She was a very happy wee dog when she came back to us . Alice was great - communication was fast and we knew Suzi was safe and happy. Couldn’t ask for a better service - thank you so much .”

“A superb, reliable and really friendly person to look after your dog. We've used Kaelan a few times now and trust him completely to look after our dog. He communicates excellently which is also incredibly reassuring”

“Our fur baby Patch stayed with Holly and Thanos for 9 nights. On our first meeting we immediately hit it off with Holly and Thanos who have lots of home boarding experience. We felt relaxed on our holiday knowing Patch was in safe hands and the daily photos and check in were real treat. I would highly recommend this lovely couple and have already booked patch in fir another 5 day stay in March.”

Our 14 year old dog Tilly had never stayed with a boarder before and we worried how she would be while we were away on our 10 day holiday . There was absolutely no need to worry! Tilly settled in with Caitlin really well and we were updated how she was doing with daily updates we received from Caitlin and photos as well ! Tilly seemed really happy during her time with Caitlin! Excellent service !
I can’t thank Jade enough for taking care of my wee guy while I had a few days away. I would highly recommend Jade for boarding and personalising care to the needs of your dog. I was kept updated with photos and updates and it’s a comfort to know your dog had the care he needed. Jade is a natural with dogs and I will definitely rebook my dog for boarding again. Thank you so much

Absolutely fantastic experience with Koko and Yoyo for the second time! We couldn’t have asked for better care for our dogs. The kids were absolutely fantastic with them, and it was so lovely knowing they were having such a great time. We received regular updates throughout their stay, including photos and videos of them playing, eating, and even their bowel movements! It gave us complete peace of mind knowing exactly how they were doing and that they were so well cared for. It’s clear how much care and attention they give the dogs, and ours were clearly very happy and settled. We would 100% recommend Koko and Yoyo and will definitely be using them again! ❤️

Síoda had a fantastic overnight stay with Cara and we know she absolutely loved it! Cara sent loads of updates, photos and videos and we could clearly see Síoda having the best time. We will definitely be looking to have Cara mind Síoda again in the future. Thanks again for taking such wonderful care of our sweet girl 😊

I couldn’t have asked for a better person than Belen to look after our baby Bramble. This was my first time using Rover so very wary. Belen sent me pics and videos every other day of Bramble on walks and playing at home alongside her own dog. I could see Bramble was very happy and was being cared by how happy and relaxed she looked. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Belén again in the future.

I was terrified about leaving my dog. In 4 years, he hadn't been with anyone other than myself and 2 trusted people from the family. Cathie and Daniel were understanding and kind from the get go, but they truly went above and beyond my expectations when it came to Frankie's care. They've now lifted a massive weight off my shoulders and, after nearly two years, I finally have someone that I trust to look after my boy and I can consider travelling again!

Tetyana was an excellent sitter. From the meet and greet she proved to have a very good way with Barney and that is why I chose her. She sent photos while walking Barney telling me where and how long. Itwas very hot for him.Tetyana contacted me for permission to change his food as he was not eating well. I am very pleased with Tetyana’s service and would not hesitate to use her again. She brought back a happy we’ll looked after dog.
Thanks so much for looking after Jura! He had a great time with his new pal Cassie and is looking forward to his next stay. Daniel sent me lots of videos and photos during Jura's stay which was really appreciated. It was clear he was very well looked after and I would highly recommend Daniel and his partner. Cassie welcomed Jura into her home and they had an absolute blast together. Thanks so much again, it was a relief to know he was in such good hands!

Matteo and Ellenkate looked after our French bulldog, Pumba, who has a few behavioural quirks, and they were honestly brilliant with her. They took the time to listen and really get to know Pumba, what she likes, what she doesn’t like, and how to make her feel settled. They also followed all the instructions we gave them, which made us feel very reassured. When we came to collect her, Pumba looked so relaxed and happy in their home. That really said it all for us. Matteo and Ellenkate are also just lovely people, really friendly, fun and easy to chat to. Pumba will be going back to stay with them soon, and we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for kind and trustworthy pet sitters.

Lauren and her lovely family took very good care of Barley this past week. It really put our minds at ease knowing he was getting such good care. I loved the daily updates and photos seeing what Barley had been up to that day. He looks very happy in the photos and I think he really enjoyed his time with Lauren. It gave us peace of mind to enjoy ourselves on holiday. Would definitely leave Barley with Lauren again knowing he will be well looked after. Thank you!!!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
