“Koko and his family were absolutely amazing with my Lab, Benny! From the start, Koko was very communitive while setting up the booking. Dropping off I felt like Benny was in really safe hands. Koko kept me updated multiple times a day with messages and photos, which made such a difference and gave me total peace of mind. Benny loved playing with their daughter, and in pics its obvious he loved the entire family as he was smiling in almost every picture. They had a lovely garden Benny was able to run and play ball in. Benny was happy and relaxed when time for pickup and napped several times that day as he had enjoyed their company so much! If you're thinking about booking with Kwok, just do it! Highly recommended!”

“Orla and Aine were fantastic sitters for Luna, I can tell that she had such a good time. We met for a meet and greet before her stay so they could get a quick introduction and they made sure to follow Luna’s routine as closely as possible to make her stay comfortable for her. They asked plenty of questions to get things right for Luna and took her to her favourite places for her walks. I would definitely book with them again and recommend to anyone looking for reliable dog sitters!”

“Very pleased with how well Bear was looked after. Kwai and his family treated him very well. I got lots of updates and photos and Bear got lots of walks so was very happy. Thank you”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with anyone out with our immediate family and we’re a little nervous but Cara was excellent and Cassie seemed sad to leave! We got loads of videos and pics of the fun being had and we have now already booked for our summer holidays! Top class and couldn’t ask for anything more”

“It's a big thing trusting your dogs with someone for the first time, but I warmed to David and Hazel at their " meet and greet". Had no worries about leaving the boys with them. The boys had a fabulous time, and on the day of drop off, they ran into the house like they owned the place! Got regular updates and videos of their " pawlidays" and nothing was too much trouble, even my two with their " foibles". Will definitely book with David again, knowing that they totally loved having them.”

“Anna was very friendly, competent, and cared well for our golden retriever. She knows how to be the leader of the pack, as our dog is happy to take the lead, if he's not put in his position! I will use her services again. She communicated by text very efficiently, and sent us regular updates of our wee dog. I would recommend you use her services!”

“Absolutely delighted with Hector's care, Helena was fabulous and bonded straight away with Hector. I would happily leave my dog anytime with Helena, she is friendly, professional and went above and beyond with looking after my boy. Top rating x”

“Highly recommend mark & Sandra. Matilda stayed 4 nights and mark kindly kept me posted of her stay. Even sharing a wee video. Lovely couple and I felt at ease leaving my wee frenchie. Thank you & I will certainly use them in future. Liz”

“Gavin was really helpful and organised a pre sit meet up so he could get to know Ted a little bit and asked lots of questions to make sure he knew his routine which was really reassuring. He kept in touch while I was away with pictures and Ted was happy and relaxed when I got home. :)”

“Nicola and Tom went way beyond what we expected from a dog sitter. Our Cavalier was given the five star treatment with plenty of exercise and a welcome home. We were provided with daily updates via WhatsApp while we were away to reassure us that our dog was settling in to his temporary home. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Nicola and Tom and would thoroughly recommend them - they were a pleasure to deal with.”

“Great experience with our last minute booking with Anne Marie. Our bichon was at home straight away and was very well looked after. Will hopefully use again in future. Thanks again.”

“Paula was very accommodating, accepting my booking quite last minute (few days before) and was flexible about pick up and drop off times. She came to pick up Beau with her dog so they got to meet and continued to send me picture updates while I was away. Beau was crying after he got dropped off which is always a good sign he had a good time/ became attached. Will definitely use Paula again for short term dog sitting!”

“Sara was a wonderful host for my dog Frisa for a few days while I visited Glasgow for a hospital procedure. Sara had a strong intuitive grasp of Frisa's needs and wants. Sara's descriptions and photos sent to me during Frisa's time with Sara matched my own experiences of Frisa's behaviour when engaged and contented. Frisa is a medium sized, but strong, dog and Sara paid careful attention to the advice that we gave her about handling Frisa on walks. I thoroughly recommend Sara.”

“Kiera and her family took such good care of our dog blue when we were away on a family holiday. It’s so lovely to have a home from home to send your dog to. Highly recommend x”

“Skye had a fantastic time with Milena and was very well looked after. She can be quite timid at times and Milena took her time to let Skye get to know her and the area without pushing her too soon. She was very patient with her and let her settle in. I wouldn't hesitate to leave Skye with Milena again - in fact, I'm about to go and check her availability for a weekend in a few weeks.”

Cookie didn’t just have a boarder. She has an entire family who was dedicated, kind and went above and beyond to help her settle. Like a lot of German Shepherds cookie is very bonded to me her main owner, and it is difficult to leave her on first visit, but this wonderful family could not have made her more welcome. Incredible communication, pictures, updates. Could not have been more wonderful. How they recommended, wonderful people, and amazing service.

I cant recommend Cara enough for dog sitting! My Benny loved his 4 day stay with her and her pups! She was very responsive and kept me updated on all of his daily fun, took him to an awesome dog park, and let him sleep in her bed! I would definitely recommend Cara for overnight stay dog sitting!

Blake had a lovely stay with AnneMarie! Annemarie welcomed him into her home and was obviously a dog lover. We got regular updates and photos which helped us relax while we were away, knowing he was being well looked after. This is the first time we left Blake with a boarder and were nervous, but we would not hesitate to do it again- with Annemarie! Thank you so much!!

Tetyana was an excellent sitter. From the meet and greet she proved to have a very good way with Barney and that is why I chose her. She sent photos while walking Barney telling me where and how long. Itwas very hot for him.Tetyana contacted me for permission to change his food as he was not eating well. I am very pleased with Tetyana’s service and would not hesitate to use her again. She brought back a happy we’ll looked after dog.
So glad we decided to join this fantastic site. This was our first use of it. And we really hit the jackpot booking Belén to look after our wee princess. Bonnie has had the best time staying with Belén, during our time away on holiday. The overall care she has received has been of the highest quality. 2nd to none. Communication was excellent. Listened to, and followed all of the written and verbal instructions we left to a T. And as such, all of Bonnie's specific wee quirky needs were met. And then some! We received regular updates, with great photos, and short videos of Bonnie being Bonnie. Not too many. Not too few. Just right. We could clearly see how content Bonnie was. Be it out for walks, playing, or just chilling around the house. There was a heat wave and Bonnie received all the appropriate care under what must have been very challenging conditions. Including keeping a close eye on her. Keeping her cool, providing and encouraging the regular intake of frequent cool water drinks, and also knowing when to go out, or stay indoors. All of which was relayed to us, knowing the heatwave was a worry to us. Bonnie has a few chronic health issues, which require close attention. She had to attend a VETs appointment during our absence, which involved Belén acting as her garduian. This was managed in a very professional manner, and as a result, Bonnie received the treatment she was due, and the appropriate after care was given. Again, all communicated to us in a clear and concise manner. Also This, along with Belén's lovely caring nature left us having a worry and guilt free holiday. We will have no hesitation in booking Belén again. I do feel it's very important to let everyone know how terrific her service has been. Credit where credit is due. Great value for the money we paid, which we appreciated. And this might be a strange thing to say, but I really do believe Belén charges way less than what she should. 10/10 rating.

You could tell Michael really cares about your dog and takes his work seriously. Juno seemed very happy and comfortable in his company and his updates during her stay helped put our minds at ease, since it was her first time away from us, she’s only 7 months old. We’ll be calling on his services again next time we’re going away.

Thanks so much for looking after Jura! He had a great time with his new pal Cassie and is looking forward to his next stay. Daniel sent me lots of videos and photos during Jura's stay which was really appreciated. It was clear he was very well looked after and I would highly recommend Daniel and his partner. Cassie welcomed Jura into her home and they had an absolute blast together. Thanks so much again, it was a relief to know he was in such good hands!

Matteo and Ellenkate looked after our French bulldog, Pumba, who has a few behavioural quirks, and they were honestly brilliant with her. They took the time to listen and really get to know Pumba, what she likes, what she doesn’t like, and how to make her feel settled. They also followed all the instructions we gave them, which made us feel very reassured. When we came to collect her, Pumba looked so relaxed and happy in their home. That really said it all for us. Matteo and Ellenkate are also just lovely people, really friendly, fun and easy to chat to. Pumba will be going back to stay with them soon, and we’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for kind and trustworthy pet sitters.

Lauren and her lovely family took very good care of Barley this past week. It really put our minds at ease knowing he was getting such good care. I loved the daily updates and photos seeing what Barley had been up to that day. He looks very happy in the photos and I think he really enjoyed his time with Lauren. It gave us peace of mind to enjoy ourselves on holiday. Would definitely leave Barley with Lauren again knowing he will be well looked after. Thank you!!!

Jade and Richard took great care of our Daku! She looked settled from the moment we dropped her off. We got frequent updates and pictures about how she was doing. They took her out for a nice hike one day when the weather was nice. You could tell Daku was having a great time. We felt super confident leaving our girl with them and would definitely recommend them!

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
