Growing up, they were always an important part of my family, and caring for them became a natural part of everyday life. My family has many years of experience raising, caring for, and training dogs. We trained our dogs for various competitions and were fortunate to achieve numerous awards and medals over the years. My experience began from the very start of a dog's life. The oldest dog I currently care for is 16 years old. Throughout my life, I have cared for cats, birds, fish, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, and other small pets. This has taught me that every animal is unique and that the best care comes from understanding each pet's individual personality, routine, and needs. Safety is always our highest priority. I have many years of professional experience in disaster management and first aid, including working as an instructor. This has taught me to remain calm, observant, and responsible in unexpected situations. My wife also has a clinical medical background and extensive experience in medical genetic testing. While we are not veterinary professionals, our backgrounds have given us a strong appreciation for safety, attention to detail, and responsible care. About: I've had dogs since I was a child. Our very first dog was a poodle called Noodle that we got when I was 10, but I'd been pretending to have dogs long before that so I felt well prepared! I'm a huge dog lover and understand how important your dog is to you as an integral member of your family. Similarly, I treat the dogs in my care like my very own family members - you can be rest assured that they will get all the love and affection they deserve! I understand exactly the care, attention and effort it takes to look after a pet. I have my own dog, a 3-year old cockapoo called Bebop, who we've had since she was a puppy. From training to grooming to vet visits, I really understand first hand what is needed to take care of your dog. Our dog has allergies and stomach issues, and so I'm very comfortable working to your dog's own special requirements. I have experience with senior dogs too, as I frequently look after my mum's 11-year old min pin. I have plenty of time during the week and at the weekends, and I'm very happy to take last minute bookings. I'm based in the Southside of Glasgow and I have a car, so I usually walk around Queens Park, Pollok Park or Maxwell Park. However, if you have any kind of preference, I'm happy to accommodate! I have my own dog who is very friendly and sociable, but I understand that not all dogs are suited to walking with others. About: Myself and my partner, Dale, have had dogs ourselves growing up and can’t wait for the day we can add one to our family. Until then, we are using Rover to spend more time with fluffy friends. We live in a non-smokers house with a garden, and only a short walk to the Dams-to-Darnley country park which also has a secure, lead-free dog play park nearby, if the owners wish for us to visit! I’m currently completing my PhD, where I have the flexibility to work at home during the week when I wish. I tend to be at home on a Monday, but can make myself available other days. At the weekends, I try to maximise time outdoors with walks or going for a row at Strathclyde Country Park. We have a fenced garden with grass and decking. Other than a garden table and chairs, the garden is spacious to run around in! Inside our two floor house, your doggo is welcome to explore any room, though we ask that they are trained not to ‘use the toilet’ on our carpets! They are welcome on and around our furniture.

About: Hi i’m Cara and i have been around animals all my life. I have worked with a range of animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, reptiles and much more! I have a HNC Animal care qualification and just finished my first year in the veterinary nursing degree course. I love working with all animals and have 3 dogs of my own ranging from 3-11 years old. I have previously worked in a kennels and done lots of dog walking and dog and cat sitting during the holiday months! I am a Veterinary Nursing student who has now stopped for the summer break. About: I’m a student in the southside of Glasgow with a lifelong love for dogs! I’ve worked at a Doggy Daycare and Boarding Kennels part-time for around a year now so feel at ease around a large number of dogs. I’ve taken care of my neighbours dogs - german shepherd and golden retrievers - for as long as i can remember, walking them almost everyday over summers and whenever i can other times. I’ve also in recent years cared for them whilst my neighbours are on holiday so have plenty of experience with general day to day care of others’ pets. I have my own little dachshund Joey who i adore but doesn’t much like walking unfortunately so looking for another wee walking buddy. I work part time and am free of uni work all summer so dog-walking would just be a fun way of filling this spare time i have! I’m used to caring for dogs in their own home - they’re most comfortable and it suits me best. Amber was an absolute god send for us on our recent lengthy holiday, she took excellent care of our young cat and was reliable, flexible, professional and very resourceful in dealing with issues such as the heatwave and a dead rat!! She is clearly experienced and natural with animals and became good friends with our shy little miso, it was such a load off our minds, Amber is trustworthy and approachable and we felt very safe having her in our home, we look forward to having her again and also introducing her to our rescue dog, she was very knowledgeable and understanding about nervous dogs which is a rare find. So glad we picked Amber and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.
Rachel was such an amazing cat sitter. She not only spent her time cleaning and feeding our cats, but also making sure they were groomed, given treats and playing with them. She also sends lots of photos, videos, long detailed reports of the day with the cats with any notes, observations and overall health of our cats. Shirley is a wonderful cat sitter! She came to our home before our trip to meet our cats, learn their routine, and make sure she understood their care, our home, and what to do in case of an emergency. Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
