About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and genuinely love caring for them. Friends, family and neighbours have trusted me to walk, feed, play with and look after their dogs for many years. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, so I always take the time to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, cuddles or sticking to a specific schedule, I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away. I take my little girl to nursery at 9am till 2:45pm so I am free during the day and free most weekends and my love getting outdoors as much as possible. I have an indoor cat and he gets plenty of attention and acts like my second child. I am very caring when it comes to looking after pets.

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 7! So +25 years of loving puppies, dogs, elderly dogs and also some experience with cats! I’ve owned Weimaraners, a Visla, and currently have a Sprollie. I currently work a Monday to Friday full time job. I can fit in pet care into my free weekends and evenings. I am open to most, if not all schedules. We love our dog because she is part of the family, caring for a dog is second nature to me as they’ve always been part of the family.

About: I currently own two working breeds between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. I have grown up around a range of breeds throughout my life from Lhasa apsos to bullmastiffs so I am eager to care for any breed, in my opinion the bigger dog the better. I have previously owned a reactive collie so I have experience of caring for dogs with more complex needs and I am happy to accommodate to any of their needs. One of my current dogs is a long haired breed and I am happy to keep up with any grooming requirements as I understand the importance of this. With owning two working breeds I am familiar with several types of enrichment to help keep them entertained and get their brains working. Although I have no experience in pet sitting officially as described above I have 5 years experiencing owning dogs. I typically will only be available on weekends however some exceptions could be made for weekday care. I am currently working full time and I am available for house sitting mostly on the weekends., with some exceptions for weekdays dependant on the location. I am available for morning/evening walks during the week again dependant on the location. I am happy to take your dog to nearby open spaces or enclosed fields to meet their needs (at no extra cost), I have my own car and ensure to appropriate after methods such as a seatbelt or crate when travelling with my own dogs which would be extended to your animals to ensure their safety. I have experience with a reactive collie and I am happy to do anything required to meet your reactive dogs needs and safety to ensure their upmost comfort for them.

About: Hi! I’m the proud owner of two lovely Cockapoos — one aged 6 and the other 3. They’re friendly, social, and full of personality. Both dogs absolutely love being outdoors and are happiest when they’re exploring new places. We’re big fans of long walks up hills, trips to the beach, and adventures in the park. Tennis balls are a huge hit in our house, and both dogs love to play, run, and explore their surroundings. They’re used to regular exercise and enjoy an active lifestyle balanced with plenty of cuddles and downtime. At home, dogs are allowed everywhere and are very much part of the family. They love cuddles on the sofa, lots of attention, and of course the occasional treat (within reason!). Because I’m used to caring for two dogs of different ages, I’m confident handling varying energy levels and routines. I treat every dog as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well exercised while in my care. I am available from the hours of 3pm -8pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am available from the hours of 1pm till 8pm on a Friday and boarding from Friday to Sunday. Your pet will be treated like my own and follow any requests you ask for. As long as they are house trained will be allowed anywhere my two boys go.

Robyn has been amazing from start to finish - she met my friend who was passing her the keys a day early to meet Frankie for a smooth handover. She sent me photos every day and gave him loads of cuddles, and spent a bit of extra time with him when she had spare time one day. Honestly, 10/10 recommend. My friend who passed her the keys also said how lovely Robyn is in person too ♥️ Thank you for everything 🥰

About: Hi I am Frances, anyone that spends five minutes in my company will tell you that I love all animals but especially Dogs, I feel as though they are just beautiful, caring, compassionate, clever and all round awesome beings that we don't deserve. Can't help but smile when in their company, Living their best life every day in the moment. No coincidence that their name is God backwards. I have had 2 dogs of my own in the past who I consider to be my family and am at a loss without my Son at the moment. I babysit for my friends Dogs if they have commitments elsewhere and consider it a privilege to do so. You don't have to own a dog to be my friend, but it helps :). Rest assured your fur babies are spoiled with me and we have fun playing, and chilling in between the adventure walks with lot's of Pink Panther sniffing / investigating to be done as well as special treat sausages from the Local Butchers with your permission of course. I have recently returned from Rwanda and Uganda where I had an amazing experience trekking in the National Forest Park to see the mighty Silverback Gorilla and his family. I have also travelled to Borneo where I volunteered at an Orangutan Sanctuary ( Jungle School - on Netflix ) and have also volunteered with the SSPCA in the past too. It would be an absolute pleasure to look after your furry family member and would be awesome to be their honorary Auntie and included in their pack. I currently work from home Monday and Friday from 8.30 to 3.30 and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30 to 4.30. I am therefore able to look after your Fur babies for long weekends Fri to Mon easily fitting in with their own specific schedules. I am hoping to be able to make this a full time job in the future, as it would be a dream come true to be able to care for your pets and be paid to do so?! In an ideal world I would have won the lottery and I would pay you for the privilege of your babies company. I have a private fenced garden that allows security and safety for your pet to be able to go out for fresh air throughout the day in between the bigger walks - minimum of an hour of sniffing if allowed. Your pet will be allowed up on the couch and bed with fluffy blankets for comfort if allowed only, as I would not allow if not the norm for pet. All their requirements will be adhered and catered for, so as not to disrupt their usual routine.

About: I have been fortunate to grow up around many different animals and I couldn’t imagine not having animals in my life. I regularly look after cats and dogs for friends and family while they are on holiday. I have experience with many different animals, for example I worked abroad teaching horse riding. I currently own a rescue dog who was nervous of people and dogs which has given me extensive knowledge with reactive dogs and I have completed training on this. I have had and currently have animals that require medication so I ensure all pet care requirements are met. Animals are my passion and I follow this up with different courses such as canine massage therapy. I want to help people provide the best care to their dogs and any others pets. I currently work full-time but have quite a lot of holidays from work throughout the year. I would be available after 5pm on weekdays and anytime weekends. If you require a different time please message as we may be able to arrange a time. As I have experience with reactive dogs I understand body language well and will ensure the safety of your dog when out on walks. I am happy to follow any rules or guidance you have when visiting your home and looking after your dog.

About: I’ve spent many years around dogs belonging to family and friends and have always been confident handling different breeds and personalities. I’m responsible, safety-conscious, and take pride in being someone owners can trust. I’m a local dog lover and owner based in Alexandria near Dumbarton. I’m currently building my dog walking work alongside my existing job, with the aim of transitioning into this full-time. I’m reliable, punctual, and calm — things I’ve learned are really important to dogs and their owners. I always prioritise safety, routine, and making sure each dog is comfortable and happy on their walk. I’m happy to tailor walks to suit your dog’s needs, whether they love a good energetic walk or prefer a slower, relaxed pace. I treat every dog as if they were my own and keep owners updated so you have peace of mind.

About: Over the years I have had 6 cats, 2 dogs, hamsters, parrots and fish so I have always had a love for animals! I have plenty of experience in caring for them and know what they need. I have had pets who have had ongoing medical needs including regular medicine. I’m the go-to contact for friends and family when they need someone to pet-sit! My partner, Huzaifah, will be helping take care of your pet. He’s an animal lover and has looked after cats, dogs, ferrets, fish, and iguana and a tortoise. I work part time and my partner, who also adores animals, works full time from home so your pet will always have company! We don’t work weekends or bank holidays. We currently have 2 gerbils in a cage in our spacious upper cottage flat with an unfenced garden. The gerbils are elevated so there shouldn’t be any issues, they love the company of other animals!

Look for sitters who highlight multi-pet expertise or check for verified reviews from other West Dunbartonshire pet parents with similar pet households.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Dunbartonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
