“Jade took wonderful care of Leo and Thomas while we were away. She was attentive, patient, and clearly understands cats and their personalities. We loved receiving updates and could see how relaxed and happy they were with her. It’s not easy to trust someone with your pets, but Jade made it effortless. Highly recommended.”

“Robyn has been amazing from start to finish - she met my friend who was passing her the keys a day early to meet Frankie for a smooth handover. She sent me photos every day and gave him loads of cuddles, and spent a bit of extra time with him when she had spare time one day. Honestly, 10/10 recommend. My friend who passed her the keys also said how lovely Robyn is in person too ♥️ Thank you for everything 🥰”

“Kathryn looked after my two cats over four visits. She was great with both of them, providing detailed updates and lots of photos. Would highly recommend Kathryn for any cat sitting needs.”

“Fallon obviously has tons of vetinary experience! It was just a meet and greet but she was happy to carry out a BG and insulin injection. She also was unfazed to help in the early mornings and also with some weekend evenings and occasional house sits. My overall impression was of someone totally competent with a complete passion for animals. I am nervous leaving my cats but I would totally trust Fallon and I will definitely arrange some house sits for the future.”

“This was my first time leaving Roxy at home. We have only had her for 8 maths. Danielle was fabulous, sending updates and pictures at each visit. It really put us at ease. We could see from pictures that Roxy was fine and had cuddles and play time. Had hoped to use Danielle's services again in August but unavailable. I have experience caring for my brother’s ginger cat, Caesar and love cuddling and playing with him. About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I lost my own dog of 12 years last April, so I know how much pets mean to people and how important it is knowing they’re in safe hands. Since meeting my partner, his dog took to me straight away and we’ve become really close — I spend most of my free time with him. I’m used to both big and small breeds, including Border Collies, Staffy/Akita mixes and Cocker Spaniels. I also help care for family members’ and neighbours’ dogs regularly, whether that’s walks, feeding, playtime or just keeping them company. Dogs usually warm to me very quickly and I genuinely just love being around them. I currently have a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention, care and company they need. I’m available for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, so I’m always happy to fit my routine around their needs and keep them comfortable and settled. Your dog’s safety and comfort will always come first with me. I’m very attentive to routines, behaviour and making sure pets feel relaxed in their environment. I’m experienced with both large and small breeds and understand that every dog is different. Whether that’s sticking to feeding schedules, long walks, playtime or just giving them company and reassurance, I’ll care for them like they’re my own.
About: I’ve always had an affinity with animals, predominantly cats and dogs. Currently have a 3 year old patterdale terrier I’ve trained myself. She’s super sociable and great with anxious dogs. I’m currently working part time from home and have time to look after more animals. Already I am out and about often with my own pup who is quite the adventurer. Happy to spend some time looking after more pets. I will treat your pet as I would my own, they will have space if they want to chill on their own or are more than welcome to hang out together.
About: I don’t have any professional experience however, my family has had dogs since I was born. We have had a collie and 2 golden retrievers, I do also have a dog of my own which is a collie/retriever/german shepherd mix. I have experience looking after a variety of dogs from a mastiff/rottweiler cross to a Dachshund. I work Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm, my partner can also provide help caring for your fluffy friends if I am unavailable. I can drive and have a car so last minute help is no problem. We live very close to many different walks and we are always happy to drive to longer walking spots for more energetic dogs if they enjoy a bit more.
About: Along with taking care of my family dog for over 10 years, I have just completed my veterinarian degree. As I wait to find a job, I would love to spend my extra time with your furry friends, whether that is on a walk, playing inside, or cuddling up on the couch. Currently job hunting, so very flexible to do that anywhere. Whether after going on a walk with your dog, or while cuddling your cat, my hours are flexible. I think it is essential to make sure that your dog gets time outside (if you agree) whether it's a walk down the road, playing in your backyard or going somewhere in the woods. I make it a priority to make sure I give dogs and cats plently of fun stimulation while sitting. In addition, when I am with your pet they have my full attention. I love cuddles or playing with toys and I most definitely talk to them as if they are a human hanging out with me:)

If I could give 10 stars out of 5, I would. This was my first time leaving Charlie boy with a cat sitter, and Nina was a reassuring and experienced cat sitter. She went above and beyond with detailed updates, plus better pictures of Charlie in one day than I get in a month! Charlie is a wee old man who’s fussy with food, litter tray cleanliness, and his medication, but Nina handled everything like the pro she is. Nina was also very accommodating of my request to take care of Charlie for an extra day last minute. Overall, Nina comes highly Charlie and Renee approved!

Holly did a sterling job looking after our cats, for 10 days - one of whom is very shy and withdrawn. She sent regular updates and photographs too. Our cats are calm and relaxed thanks to her attention and care. I would highly recommend Holly and would not hesitate to hire her again.

Liz is a wonderful sitter. She is kind and considerate with the cats. She communicates very well with the owners and sends beautiful photographs, putting your mind at ease. We returned to find our cats relaxed and happy. We’re will definitely see Liz again! Thank you Liz 😊
Fallon is the most amazing person. She took care of my cat for days and kept him happy. And when my cat had an emergency, she came home an extra time, took him to the vet by herself while kept me informed the whole time, gave him meds and went out of her way last minute to stay overnight at my house to keep an eye on him. I’m the most grateful for Fallon and I couldn’t recommend her enough. My cat was extremely distressed screaming and I was away unable to do anything so been able to contact her and have her take him to the vet was simply amazing. Fallon, thank you for everything 🙏

Grace and Kaiden were ideal cat-sitters. Came for an initial visit to introduce themselves to Alfie and get to know where he does what in the flat so they knew his routines. Communication throughout the booking was fantastic and I got lots of pictures of a very happy little cat alongside some useful caring info. Will definitely book again next time I'm away, thanks!

Danielle did a fabulous job of looking after my beloved blind cat Humbug. He can be timid with people he doesn’t know but he absolutely loved her and was very happy and confident when I arrived home. Her updates were brilliant and I knew he was in really capable hands. I’d give her 10 stars if I could and would definitely book her again 😊

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Dunbartonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
