“We had a great first experience with Jennifer looking after Olly. She came for a meet-and-greet beforehand, arrived on time, and was friendly, polite and professional throughout. She took Olly for a lovely walk, and although he is quite a nervous and anxious dog, he was calm, happy and well settled when we got home, which says it all. We’d happily book with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable and genuinely great with dogs.”

“Heather has been fantastic with our wee Idris. She is diligent, caring, consistent, very calm, and loving. It’s such a relief knowing we can trust her with our boy, and know he’s in great hands, each and every time. Thank you Heather!”

About: ** New to this app, Happy to do a meet a greet before hand to make sure I am a good fit for you, or alternatively please reach out message or phone call** I’ve had dogs since the age of 6. I’ve always been an avid animal lover. From school I worked in a veterinary practice as an assistant for a few years before going off to study at university. I’ve had 4 dogs and 2 cats. All of them I have treated like my children. Currently I work longer days on Monday-Thurs which doesn’t allow me to have a pet of my own. However I do have availability on Friday - Sunday and if given notice I would happy take requests that are outwith these days as I love the aspect of caring for an animal. Please reach out to me if you have any questions and il be so happy to board your furry babies! I have availability at weekends and every second Friday. I don’t have many plans at the weekend as I like to potter around go for walks visit cafes and new places. I would adore a pet of my own but because of my longer days it isn’t feasible at this time, which is why I want to do Rover. I would love to spend time with animals and give them the attention and trust they deserve! As an avid animal lover I have worked in a veterinary practice and have also volunteered at the dog and cat shelter. I own my home in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with no traffic. I have my own back garden which is high fenced and gets the sunshine all day as it’s south facing. I live in a town where there are lots of fields and lots of trails to take your doggies out for long walks, I also enjoy taking my brothers dogs out to surrounding beaches as they love the ocean and running on the sand. I enjoy meeting up with friends who have dogs and we go to cafes to get coffee and of course the dogs come too. I live along and keep my warm cosy quiet and a perfect environment for those little ones that are extra timid.

About: I have been surrounded by dogs from an early age, and caring for them has been a consistent part of my life. My family entrusted me with their care, which gave me extensive experience in handling a variety of breeds. Over the years, I have taken responsibility for feeding, walking, bathing, and providing overall care, ensuring each dog’s well-being to the best of my ability. I currently work part-time, and studying Law at Strathclyde University. My part-time hours mean that I work every Friday, in office which means this is the only day I am unable to look after any dogs. My University timetable is extremely flexible, where I may only be in 1 or 2 hours per day. Every morning I wake up and walk my own dog, making sure he gets big runs and all of his energy out for that morning. After this, I love to take him to the coffee shop where he will always get a pup cup! I will then make sure he is walked at night, and showered if need be before I make sure he’s super cosy for the rest of the night! He has his food and water out all day long, meaning he is able to nudge the door open and get to his food whenever he wishes to do so. He also gets let out for the toilet every 2 hours maximum. I live in a flat, however it is ground floor, with a fenced back garden where it is not possible for any dogs to escape! I love to make sure our pets are nice and cosy, with a place on the sofa with a little blanket for them to lie on, and lots of cosy cuddles! I love to bathe dogs and get them all nice and clean, with a special towel for them to dry on!
“Jenny looked after my cat peaches for a long weekend. She kept me well informed and sent plenty of lovely photos. I can always relax knowing she is being so well looked after 😊”

“Charlotte is a lovely young lady who it looks like Mittens has really taken too, which I was so relieved and happy about! I got plenty of photos when I was away and when I've came back everything has been perfect! Would highly recommend Charlotte and when I go away again, she would definitely be my first choice! Thank you again!”

On the day she coped admirably with Bob having to be on the lead in a Buster collar and paw boot in very wet weather. About: Hey! I’m Christina, an experienced pet owner and sitter. I’ve had a love for animals since I can remember, and have grown up around many dogs, cats, even some chickens and ducks! I aim to treat your pet like I would my own, whether that’s on a drop in visit, a walk or a longer pet sit. I’ll make sure all their needs are met whether that’s walking for hours to burn energy, playing with toys or games to keep their brains stimulated or simply cuddling up on the sofa in front of the telly. I’m comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, from your teacup yorkies to your Great Danes, I’m happy to provide as much exercise as needed and cater my services as required. I’m also a clean and tidy house sitter, happy to keep on top of your plants and anything else you might need cared for other than your pet while you’re away. I’m as happy in a central flat as a rural cottage, no house sit is a problem for me. I also have a clean PVG, and can provide testimonials from previous sits off site. Please don’t hesistate to send me a message with any questions, hope to hear from you and your perfect pet soon! Pet sitting & care is my full time job, outside of some flexible volunteering, so I’m available through the week and outside of sociable hours. I’m happy to take bookings at short notice providing I’m available, and to travel reasonable distances to provide services. I drive so have no problem accessing more rural locations. I care for pets in their own house, so I know that it’s them that rules the roost! I’ll work with you as the owner to ensure I know their routine, their likes and dislikes, any wee quirks they might have, to provide the most tailored service for your pet. Whether it’s walking a favourite route, ensuring they always have their favourite toy to hand, preparing a perfect dinner for special diets, nothing is too much for me to cater for. I’m also happy to do as many meet and greets as needed for you and your pet to feel comfortable before commencing any services.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Lanarkshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.
