“Bridget really helped us out at short notice when we were visiting Glasgow. Our dogs took to her immediately and we felt after meeting her that we were leaving them in good hands. Her communication was excellent and it was lovely to get some pics of updates during her stay. Bridget was very flexible to meet our needs and would highly recommend.”

About: Hello, I’ve had dogs all my life, got my first dog as a child then had two Dalmatians as a young adult and now I have a working cocker spaniel puppy who is 9 months and I have plenty of experience with dogs :)
“Rick was fantastic with our dog. She can be unsure of people at first, but he was calm, patient, and really tuned into her, which made all the difference. He stuck to her routine exactly as we had asked and kept us updated throughout, giving us real peace of mind. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

“Colette looked after our dog, Arlo, this week and I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Her communication was excellent throughout, keeping us updated and giving us complete peace of mind. She has such a calm, patient manner with Arlo, and it's obvious how comfortable and happy he is with her. She really understands him and he absolutely loves spending time with her. What really stood out was that she noticed Arlo wasn't quite himself and suggested he might have an ear infection. She even went above and beyond by helping my mum take him to the vet, which we really appreciated. (I was happy to pay her extra for her time, but her willingness to help meant a lot.) Thank you, Colette, for taking such wonderful care of Arlo. We'll definitely be booking with you again!”

About: Hi, my name is Katie and I'm currently a full time, freelance musician based in Dennistoun, Glasgow. I am also an avid outdoors enthusiast and love being outside in nature. Most importantly, I am hugely passionate about animals and their care and welfare. Ever since I was young, my family had pets-mostly cats, but we also had a dog at one point and some goldfish. From a very young age, I've had experience of caring for and taking care of animals. Over the years, I have also looked after and cared for pets within my family and my partner's family, when they have been on holiday; this has included cats, chihuahuas, a hamster and a Border Collie. I often take my Mum's dog out for walks and will also care for him when she is needing help. I have extensive experience in dog walking, as well as in general animal care and welfare, but I've also had some experience in administering medication, grooming and cleaning etc. Mostly, I just love looking after pets, it brings me a lot of joy, happiness and contenment. I''m currently a full time, freelance musician based in Dennistoun, Glasgow. I sing and play keys in my wedding band, as well as a soloist, playing weddings, events, functions, bars, pubs, restaurants and care homes all over Scotland. This mainly takes place during the weekends, mostly the evenings. However, I can also have daytime and weekday gigs, although not as regularly. I mostly have availability during the week/weekdays. However, I do also have weekend availability from the morning to the afternoon. I wouldn't be able to look after any pets in my home as my landlord is allergic. However, in the pet owner's home, I will always ensure safety, care and the wellbeing of the pets are maintained. I will always adhere to the owner's instructions and ensure the utmost care is taken. I always show respect towards the owner's requests and will only do what I am asked to do. The wellbeing of the animals are hugely important to me and I always strive to maintain this.

“We were lucky enough to have Jo look after our two cats when we were away. She moved into our home, kept everything in perfect order and was brilliant with them. Jo sent us regular updates which was such a relief. Her messages and photos gave us peace of mind and made us laugh. Jo is reliable, trustworthy, kind, and clearly a natural with animals.”

“An absolute superstar, thanks again Sidney! She stayed in our home for 1 week taking care of our dog Charlie, sent regular updates and photos and left our house is such a nice and clean state. Everything went so smoothly and we left on our first holiday together with our children knowing Charlie was left in safe hands with lots of attention, cuddles and calmness ☺️ would without hesitation book you again and recommend you to whoever was looking for a reliable and kind soul to look after your four legged best friend 💞”

“Sam was absolutely brilliant with Milly while we were away for a week. Milly enjoyed plentiful walks and generally was very settled and happy. Great communication from Sam at the time of making the booking, Sam visited us and then confirmed which was all very reassuring as this was our first time. Lovely wee updates while we’re away too. Thanks Sam!”

“Monica was such a wonderful sitter for my dog Luna. She took her for long walks and ball play, showered her with attention and kept me informed on how she was doing throughout the 2 night overstay together. I would absolutely recommend Monica and would love to use her for future bookings- thank you again for your lovely care x”

Anna was fantastic, she visited our dogs prior to booking to meet them and us which made us feel very comfortable and confident in trusting her with our two dogs. During our holiday we were kept fully updated with messages and photos of our dogs loving life with Anna. We wouldn’t hesitate in booking Anna again and would definitely recommend her services.

Zoe looked after our dog and 2 cats in our home while we were away from Tuesday to Thursday. We would highly recommend Zoe, she was happy to conduct meet and greet before we left to make sure it was going to be a good fit for all. She turned up when agreed and took great care of them all and stayed in touch and sent frequent photos. On our return all three pets were settled, happy and were clearly taken well care of. Even our little female cat who is timid and usually hides up stairs had been down sitting on her knee and sleeping on top of her. Would definitely book again and would recommend. Our house was neat and tidy when we returned you'd never know there had been someone here, was exactly as we has left it.

First time using this service and of course meeting Pauline. Was so impressed! Pauline came to meet us and Snickers prior to the stay and we were more than happy and comfortable to go off on our holiday weekend and leave Snickers in Pauline’s very capable hands. During the time Pauline kept us updated on how Snickers was doing and sent lots of lovely pics of his gorgeous walks. He even met a new friend and seemed to have a lovely break himself while we were away. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Pauline and will certainly be booking her again in the future. Thank you so much! It was a relief and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying about how wee Snickers was doing without us.

Mollie watched our 2 dogs and did a great job. Our youngest dog can be very anxious and Mollie gave him his space and time to get used to things. It was a fairly short notice booking and Mollie was super responsive to messages in the lead up and during the house sitting. Thank you again

Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Lanarkshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
