About: Hi, I’m Emily, a lifelong animal lover and proud Registered Veterinary Nurse. Having shared my life with both cats and dogs for many years, I understand just how much they mean to their families and the peace of mind it brings to know they’re being cared for properly while you’re away. With my veterinary nursing background, I don’t just bring experience in everyday care and handling—I also offer the reassurance of knowing your pet is in experienced hands. Whether it’s administering medication, monitoring their health and wellbeing, keeping an eye on subtle changes in behaviour, or simply providing companionship, cuddles, and playtime, I’ll care for your pet as if they were my own. I know that every pet has their own unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether you have an energetic dog who loves long walks and adventures, or a quiet cat who prefers a gentle fuss and familiar surroundings, I tailor my care to suit them as individuals, helping them feel happy, relaxed, and comfortable in their own home. My goal is to make sure you can truly relax while you’re away, knowing your furry family member is safe, loved, and receiving the highest standard of care from someone with both professional experience and a genuine passion for animal welfare.
“Robyn was excellent at looking after our high energy GSP at our house He obviously loved her company Robyn gave us regular updates and pics of our boy to keep us reassured during our holiday She also looked after our house while we were away Very impressed……will definitely book Robyn again”

“We were very happy with Denise. When we came home the house was spotless and everything was in order. More importantly, our 4 month old puppy had obviously had a lovely time with Denise and seemed calm and relaxed. We would be happy to use Denise again.”

“An absolute superstar, thanks again Sidney! She stayed in our home for 1 week taking care of our dog Charlie, sent regular updates and photos and left our house is such a nice and clean state. About: I have many years experience with pet care, including working in a Veterinary Practice, dog walking, check in’s and even overnight stays! I currently work in a local, independent pet shop where I love getting to meet the different pets that come in & get cuddles throughout the day. Through my experience in the pet shop I am educated in dietary requirements and the medical wellbeing of all types of pets and can give recommendations based on your pets needs. I can also provide lots of natural tasty treats! Everyone who has met me, have said they fully trust me with their pet and couldn’t picture anyone else more suited to take care of them and to rely on. I currently own a 2 year old Collie named Clover who is my whole world :) I currently work at a small business Animal shop a couple of days a week. I am open for bookings on Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, Saturday and Sunday's, offering single and group walks. In the near future I am planning on making dog walking my full time job. I have always had a family dog growing up, and I currently own a Broderick Collie with my fiancé. So I have tons of experience caring for dogs and love being around them! By working in a Veterinary Practice, I have been trained in handling, health and safety and taking care of the pets we had in care. Over the years I have had friends and family reach out to myself to look after their pets including dogs, cats, fish and chickens. At home I also own guinea pigs and rabbits, so I have had a wide variety of animal care and experience.
“Aileen was a star from start to finish, regular updates and photos. Alfie loved her and we came home to a clean, tidy house and a happy, well looked after Labrador. Great service from a lovely lady.”

“David and May were lovely and looked after my little handful Bella overnight. They were very attentive to all Bella’s needs and I would highly recommend them to look after all fur babies as they are such caring people. Even though Bella don’t get along great with their own dog Toby 🐾 they did a fantastic job looking after her.”

About: I've had both cats and dogs all throughout my life and I have plenty of experience looking after animals. I regularly look after my family and friends pets and I love having a furry companion by my side. I live in a house with a large garden with lots of room to play and all animals are welcome on our sofas and bed if that's where they are most comfortable. Also, if you'd rather we kept them off furniture to keep consistent with training at home then I'm more than happy to follow your rules. I work from home full time so I have plenty of availability and I'll be around to keep your dog company, with lots of stimulation and walks. I'm comfortable with large dogs and will do my very best to accommodate any special requests or concerns you might have. Excited to meet your furry best friend! 🐈🐶 I work from home full-time self employed so I'd love a furry companion or two to keep me company! I'm available for day sits, nights & holidays and I'm able to accommodate for as many walks needed. I'd love to keep you updated regularly about how your pet is doing with pictures and texts ☺️ happy to listen to any requests or concerns you have.
“Jessica took excellent care of our older Staffy during her 4-night/5-day stay in our home. He requires medication and had a slight limp (caused by a little too much running on the beach), so he needed a little extra attention and care. Jessica was gentle, attentive, and clearly mindful of his needs throughout. She managed his medications reliably, ensured he was comfortable, and was sensible about taking him for walks when he was up to them. We returned to a happy, relaxed dog. We would be happy to have Jessica care for him again and would confidently recommend her to others.”

About: Having gained a level 2 and 3 in animal care and management, and then a BSc (Hons) in Animal behaviour and welfare, I have worked with various species of animals from cats and dogs to horses, sheep, pigs, bearded dragons, geckos, and multiple aquatic animals of the like. I have been an animal management and care specialist for a HE college, then moved to a veterinary specialist hospital as a technician. I have now turned to human nursing post covid. I currently work as a nurse, from 0830 till 5 pm Monday to Friday, I am free nearly every weekend. I am more than happy to have your furry child over night or to look in on them after work or on weekends. Having an open-plan flat, the rooms are filled with natural light; CCTV will be an option, but daily updates will be included as standard. I will insist on password pickup (you and I agree on a secret password if someone other than the person who drops them off is picking them up). If visiting your home, I will be wearing body-worn CCTV and will text or video chat during my visit to ensure that you are aware that I have attended to your goodest boy/girl.
“Camilla is a complete delight. She took time out of her day to do a little meet and greet with our dogs a few days before she looked after them and they fell in love with her instantly. The care she took of them for the day we booked was perfect, we left them knowing they were in the best of care. She played with them and snuggled with them and they were so happy with her. We will definitely use Camilla again and I highly recommend her. The easiest ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ever. Thank you Camilla. We 💜 you xx”

“This gal is absolutely fabulous. Prior to the first board we met several times, took my girls a wander and had some coffees and I felt at ease knowing my girlies were in safe hands and someone who will just hug them and care for them as I do. Sending me pictures of what the girls are up to. Highly recommend! Relieved to have found her services! Thank you again ☺️”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred North Ayrshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Ayrshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
