About: I currently live and work in Kilmarnock town centre, with a flexible schedule, and I am based here long-term. You’re always welcome to visit your pets, and I’m happy to send regular photos or videos to keep you updated. I have two beloved dogs (a Border Collie and a Bichon Frise), both three years old, whom I raised myself from two months old. They are currently cared for by my mother in China. I have gained solid hands-on experience providing dog walking and pet care for local residents, including in Kilmarnock and Kilmaurs. To me, pets are family. I’m patient, attentive, and sensitive to their needs and emotions. I also continue to support stray dog rescue efforts in China, which reflects my long-term commitment and genuine love for animals. I currently work part-time in a takeaway shop for a few hours in the evening. I have my own room and am free throughout the day, which allows me plenty of time to play with and take care of dogs. I will provide the best possible care for your dog while keeping your home clean, safe, and well respected. I am responsible, trustworthy, and treat both pets and homes with great care.

Jennifer is just THE BEST. We booked her to stay in our home with our dog, a staffie named Ringo, for two weeks and we could not have asked for a better experience. She visited us not once but twice (at our request) prior to the booking to ensure we were confident and comfortable. Ringo had the time of his life with Jennifer. She took him on so many walking adventures – and she provided photos and videos of them every single day. Ringo says she was a magnificent cuddler, too. In the past, we kennelled him at a “luxury” kennel but we worried about how much time he was spending alone. It always put a damper on our trips away as we worried about him and this time, we had no worries at all. Jennifer communicated with us multiple times each day. There were a couple of unexpected events (power outage for one) and Jennifer handled them with grace. We were relaxed and happy because we knew Ringo was, too.

Jessica took excellent care of our older Staffy during her 4-night/5-day stay in our home. He requires medication and had a slight limp (caused by a little too much running on the beach), so he needed a little extra attention and care. Jessica was gentle, attentive, and clearly mindful of his needs throughout. She managed his medications reliably, ensured he was comfortable, and was sensible about taking him for walks when he was up to them. We returned to a happy, relaxed dog. We would be happy to have Jessica care for him again and would confidently recommend her to others.

Great cat sitter!! Communication was brilliant and we were very pleased to have found Zoe. Our cat was very well cared for and her needs were respected. We have come home to a very relaxed cat. Zoe went the extra mile when the heatwave arrived and got a fan brought in to help our pet feel comfortable. Would recommend Zoe without hesitation 🙏

Taya was absolutely fantastic stepping in last minute before I went away on holiday. She went above and beyond and really appreciated everything she did while I was away. Poppy is a very fussy, stubborn dog and not sure of strangers but Taya had sat for poppy before so was pleased I could book her again. I felt happy and confident that poppy was getting on fab while away with all the updates and a surprise that she was eating her food as she is usually stubborn and can go days without eating so I knew that she was very relaxed and comfortable with Taya when she told me she was eating. Absolutely amazing experience with Taya, would recommend 100%.

I love the beach and anything out in the country side. I have a horse so being outdoors is my norm. I’m currently a nursing student looking to gain a little extra money whilst doing something I love. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Robyn Our Golden Retriever can be a little needy at times, and because she’s truly like our daughter, it was so important for us to find someone who would care for her as much as we do—especially while we were away getting married. I found Robyn on Rover after reading a few of her reviews and decided to reach out. Straight away, she gave off such a warm and welcoming vibe. When we met in person, Bailey took to her instantly, which meant everything to us. Robyn asked lots of questions about Bailey, which really reassured us that she genuinely cared about getting to know her. We also arranged a shorter sitting session beforehand so both Bailey and Robyn could get comfortable with each other, which was such a great idea. On our wedding weekend, Robyn arrived right on time and even brought us a little gift, which was such a kind and thoughtful touch. Throughout the day, she kept us updated with photos and messages, so we always knew Bailey was happy and well looked after. When we got home, Bailey was so excited to see us—but it was clear she’d had a lovely time too. Thank you so much, Robyn—we’re so grateful

Agnieszka was great with my two Australian shepherds while house-sitting for me over a weekend. She sent me updates and photos while I was away and I came back from my trip to two very happy and relaxed dogs. I also appreciated that she did not change any of their usual routines and had no trouble dealing with feeding their raw diet and letting them sleep in the bedroom.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 852 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Ayrshire. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Ayrshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Ayrshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
