About: 🐾💕
I'm a friendly, caring and reliable 20yr old who has always loved animals. I've grown up having pets for as long as I can remember and have experience caring for a range of animals from fish to dogs. I regularly look after pets belonging to friends and family, including caring for my own pets when family are away.
 🐶
I have experience with dogs with different personalities and behaviours, including dogs that can be nervous, bark or bite. I understand the importance of being patient, attentive and understanding the needs of each individual animal. 🐱
Services that I provide include dog walking, drop in visits, and pet sitting. The care I offer can include feedings, water changes, playtime, walks, basic grooming and plenty of company. The length of my services can range anything between a ten minute to drop in to overnight stays, I'm happy to adapt to the needs of the specific animal and the service booked.
 🐹
I'll follow your pets usual routine and any specific instructions that you provide. I'm also happy to send regular updates and photos whilst caring for your pets.
 🐠
I'm based in East Renfrewshire and I can travel around Glasgow depending on the distance and commute. I'm happy to discuss your pets routine, personality and needs beforehand so I can provide the best possible care.
💕🐾 I’m currently working a part time job on a small contract and so have lots of spare time to dedicate to other activities! I’ll have the ability to care for the animals for extensive times. I have a fenced garden and two pets of my own, 1 cat and 1 dog. They’re friendly and compatible ( a little awkward) but once they’re comfortable, they’re great!

Ian has a really lovely natural way with dogs. Loki took to him instantly. I felt reassured that Loki was being well looked after whilst I attended my mum's funeral. He followed instructions. I will certainly book him again. Thank you

About: I’ve had dogs all my life. Most recently my parents have 2 wire fox terriers which I frequently look after. I take them at least 3 long walks a week and I have trained them both since they were puppies! I have experience with anxious/reactive dogs. Neighbours/ friends also often ask me to check in on their dogs to play or go a walk. I currently work Monday- Thursday so would be available for boarding Thursday night- Saturday unless your dogs used to being home alone during the day in which case could do midweek too. I have a fenced garden and no dogs in the house. I’m happy to crate your dog if they are crate trained. I have experience with anxious dogs.

About: Growing up we always had at least 1 or 2 dogs around, and they were everyone's responsibility. I've also looked after farm animals, small animals and snakes! I currently live with a free roam bunny, Lily, while frequently looking after/visiting the family doggies, Maisie (Spring Spanial/Lab) and Dexter (Lab/Poodle/Retriever). Experienced in looking after hyper/reactive dogs, and senior friends. I work as a freelancer, so inbetween contracts I have a lot of free time for your Fur Baby! Can do weekdays and weekend visits/stays. I can do walks, playtime, feeding, snuggles or crate time. As I have a free roam bunny, I can only offer home visits or stays.

About: When I'm not looking after animals, you'll usually find me outdoors — I'm currently 61 Munros into all 282, and I love hiking, travelling, and both indoor and outdoor bouldering whenever I get the chance. I spent a lot of time in the north of Scotland, mostly in Shetland and Scourie, and I've spent a lot of time travelling and house sitting in those areas too, so I'm very comfortable in remote or rural settings as well as busier towns and cities. Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember — I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, cows, and horses, so looking after them just feels natural to me! I've been pet sitting for over 16 years now, both here in the UK and while travelling around Europe and Asia, and I love that animals have been part of every adventure along the way. At home, I've got two dogs and three cats keeping me busy (and very loved). Some of my favourite memories come from a hobby I did with National Geographic, working with an NGO called Target that helps protect animals from poachers. I got to work alongside animal experts from all over the world in India's national parks — setting up cameras and spending time with tigers, tiger cubs, snakes, tortoises, and dogs. It was an incredible experience and taught me so much about how different animals think and behave. I've cared for pets from tiny month-old puppies and kittens all the way up to a wise old 14.5-year-old collie, across loads of different breeds. I've also helped rescue dogs settle in — from Romania, learning to trust humans and live alongside other pets, and from northern Scotland, helping them become calmer and more confident, learning to walk nicely on a lead, stay relaxed around other dogs, and not bark so much. Animals have always had a huge place in my heart, and I've looked after them both one-on-one and in multi-pet households, so whether it's a single pet needing full attention or a busy home with several animals at once, I'm comfortable managing it all. Honestly, what I love most is getting to know each animal's own personality — because just like people, no two are ever the same! I take the time to understand them, play with them, and learn something new every single day. If you're looking for someone who'll genuinely care for your pet like their own, I'd love to meet them! I'm very flexible when it comes to pet care, and I'm happy to fit my schedule around yours rather than the other way round — whether that means early mornings, late evenings, or something in between. I know how much it means to feel completely at ease while you're away, so I love sending photo updates of your pet enjoying their time with me, so you can see for yourself that they're happy, safe, and well looked after. Communication is a big part of how I work, so if you ever want an update or have a specific routine you'd like followed, I'm always just a message away. I try to respond to your queries within 30 minutes, unless I'm away hiking or somewhere with no network — but even then, I'll get back to you as soon as I'm reachable! 🙂 When I'm caring for pets in your home, I like to keep things as close to normal as possible, so your pet babies can stick to their own routine rather than having to adjust to mine. I spend time playing with them, talking to them, and giving them plenty of attention throughout the day — walkies for dogs, playtime for cats, and anything extra you'd like me to do to keep them happy and comfortable. Your home and your pet's usual habits always come first, so just let me know what works best for them and I'll follow your lead. :)

About: Hi there, Cathal here (one of those Irish names) a television freelancer in Glasgow. I grew up with two very different dogs, one a lively Springer Spaniel and the other a gentle Maltese, so I’m used to both high-energy walks and smaller dogs that deserve just as much attention. Over the years, I’ve regularly looked after friends’ and family members’ dogs, whether that’s daily walks, overnight stays, or just keeping them company while their owners are away. It never feels like a chore and it’s always feels rewarding when they are comfortable while being away. I’ve recently moved to the Southside of Glasgow and I’m just a five-minute walk from Queen’s Park, with a big walled garden at the flat too, so I’d love the opportunity to look after more dogs and make the most of being so close to the park. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, I’m reliable, attentive, and will always treat your dog like they’re my own. You can expect regular updates, plenty of care, and lots of waggy tails . If you’re looking for someone friendly, responsible, and genuinely excited to spend time with your dog, I’d love to hear from you! I am currently working fully remotely from home so will have plenty of time for your dogs attention! For dog walking, I love an early stroll before work or getting my steps in, during the evenings. I have a spacious open plan flat with a large walled garden. I’m also a five minute walk from Queens Park, so plenty of room for long walks (and maybe a puppuccinoon the way home)

I Would like to thank Cara so much for taking care of Buddy. Along with other health issues Buddy was diagnosed with heart failure a week before I was due to go on holiday, so I was in two minds whether to go. In the end I did go and Cara made my time away so much easier. Buddy was well looked after by Cara and had the best time with Cara, her family and her dogs. Cara kept me updated each day with messages in the morning and bedtime as to how Buddy was, with plenty of photos, videos of their day. This put my mind at rest seeing him having fun with Cara. I would highly recommend Cara to anyone looking for their pet to be well cared for while they are on holiday 💙

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred East Renfrewshire walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Renfrewshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
