“Rick was fantastic with our dog. She can be unsure of people at first, but he was calm, patient, and really tuned into her, which made all the difference. He stuck to her routine exactly as we had asked and kept us updated throughout, giving us real peace of mind. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

“Colette looked after our dog, Arlo, this week and I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Her communication was excellent throughout, keeping us updated and giving us complete peace of mind. She has such a calm, patient manner with Arlo, and it's obvious how comfortable and happy he is with her. She really understands him and he absolutely loves spending time with her. What really stood out was that she noticed Arlo wasn't quite himself and suggested he might have an ear infection. She even went above and beyond by helping my mum take him to the vet, which we really appreciated. (I was happy to pay her extra for her time, but her willingness to help meant a lot.) Thank you, Colette, for taking such wonderful care of Arlo. We'll definitely be booking with you again!”

About: **DISCOUNT CODE - LUCYK10726** Currently I live with two mini dachshunds which belong to my flatmate, one is 4 years old and the other is 1 year old. I help feed, walk, and play with the dogs. I have also sat for my aunt's young dog Lottie, and my friend's two cats and their newborn kittens. I have also cared for a senior dog, Basil. At 15 years old he needed to be fed, walked, medicated, bathed, and was given plenty of cuddles and comfort. If you have smaller pets such as hamsters, fish, etc. I can drop in to feed them. I have a few years experience taking care of my own guinea pigs. I am available weekdays from 5pm onwards to walk dogs or pop in quickly to feed any pets. Friday nights may be more flexible, contact me to discuss pet sitting. On weekends, I'm available all day Saturday and Sunday for any pet sitting or dog walking needs! :) I am happy to learn about the safety rules put in place for each individual home and/or as is required for each and every pet.
About: With 15 years of my own dog (sadly passed 2 years ago) I now petsit a little adorable white dog and it just brings me so much joy and company in my house that I want to get more pet friends. Their is a dog park right across the road from my house where I usually throw a ball round with dogs twice a day, I also try to get out to Strathclyde park or around eurocentral for a long walk to tire us all out. I currently work part time so I have a flexible schedule that I can work around to suit the dogs needs and ensure they are getting exercised first thing in the morning, lunch time, afternoon and evening. I love to talk to dogs, sounds crazy but I live alone so company would be nice when im home. I keep treats in the house but treats and food are discussed with you to ensure I dont overstep.
“Diane house sat for all four of my pets - dogs Harry & Ginny, and cats George & Fitz - and she was absolutely top notch! Came home to four very chill animals, house was spotless and she had even stripped the bed (above and beyond haha)! Communication was regular, lots of photos and updates, which I really appreciate. Thanks Diane, very much a trusted sitter ⭐”

About: I have a background in childcare, which has helped me develop strong responsibility, patience, and attention to safety. I also have two dogs of my own, so I’m very familiar with daily care, walking routines, feeding, and understanding different behaviours. I genuinely enjoy being around dogs and making sure they feel comfortable and well looked after. I’m happy to follow your dog’s routine, whether that’s energetic walks, playtime, or calm companionship. I understand that every dog is different, and I take the time to build trust and make them feel at ease. You can rely on me to be communicative, and caring, and I’m happy to send updates and photos for peace of mind. I’m available for pet sitting on weekends and for dog walking or drop-in visits after 3pm on weekdays, as I work another job during the day. I’ll always be clear about my availability and make sure your dog gets reliable, consistent care during the times I’ve committed to. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. When visiting your home, I make sure doors and gates are secure at all times and that your dog is safe, calm, and well looked after. I follow your dog’s usual routine closely, including feeding, fresh water, walks, and any specific instructions you provide. I take time to build trust with each dog so they feel comfortable in their own environment. I’m reliable, respectful of your home, and always communicate clearly. I’m also happy to send updates and photos so you can feel reassured while you’re away.
“Maia was absolutely wonderful, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the very first message, she was warm, responsive, and incredibly communicative, which immediately put me at ease. She arrived right on time and took such thoughtful, attentive care of Sunny. She made sure he had a lovely walk, plenty of affection, and lots of cuddles, all the things that matter so much to me when trusting someone with him. When we returned home, Sunny was completely relaxed and content, which spoke volumes. It was clear he had a genuinely lovely time and had been cared for with kindness and attention throughout. I am extremely selective about who looks after Sunny, he is not just my dog, he is my lifeline and deeply precious to me and Maia exceeded every expectation. If you are in the Glasgow area and looking for someone truly trustworthy, kind, and reliable, I would wholeheartedly recommend Maia. If she is available, don’t even think twice, just book her. She is absolutely fantastic.”

About: Growing up, I've had the privilege of caring for a variety of pets, which has created my passion for all animals. With over 20 years of having dogs and cats in my family, I've attended puppy classes and taken on the responsibility of looking after family dogs. I enjoy going on walks, playing, and nurturing pets, and I'm well-equipped to handle any situations that may arise during these outings. I walk plenty myself throughout the day so would love to have a friend to bring with me! I have a reasonable size back garden for your pets to run around and play in. My family live around the corner with a golden retriever and a cockapoo, giving your furry pet plenty company on walks if allowed! All in all it is a safe and happy environment for your wee pet to be in.

About: Hi, I’m Cirila — I’d love to look after your pet while you’re away and make sure they feel happy, safe and relaxed. I’ve grown up with animals and have over 10 years of pet-sitting experience. I share my home with Fox, my gentle and friendly lurcher, who’s calm, well socialised, and used to having other dogs around. I’m self-employed, so I’m home most of the time and can give your pet plenty of attention, cuddles, and company. Dogs staying with me get at least one nice long walk a day, plus extra walks or playtime depending on what they enjoy. I’m also happy to pet-sit in your home if that’s what your pet prefers. I have experience looking after cats and budgies, as well as small animals. I really enjoy getting to know each pet and treating them like part of the family. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry (or feathered!) friend 🐶🐱🦜 Pet care is part of my everyday life. I’m self-employed, so I only take bookings when I’m working from home or on holiday, meaning your pet always has company. My own lurcher, Fox, keeps me on a routine of walks, playtime, and chill time — so looking after another dog just fits right in. I make sure every pet gets plenty of exercise, attention and a comfortable, calm day. In my home: Your dog becomes part of the family. They get daily walks, lots of company, playtime, and whatever routine you prefer. Fox is very friendly and enjoys having a buddy around. In your home: I follow your pet’s usual routine so they feel at home. I’m tidy, respectful, and send plenty of photo updates. With your permission, I may bring Fox along — he’s gentle and used to house-sitting with me.
“Caitlin was amazing! I really cannot recommend her enough. She sent daily updates on my dog and made me and my partner feel so happy leaving him with her. Even when we had a crisis the day we were meant to get back she was great, and just made us feel like Doug was one thing we didn’t have to panic about! ?❤️”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as i can remember. Caring for and helping animals is my greatest joy, and to be able to give extra love to all your furry family’s would be amazing. I’m only working 1 week out of 3 just now within my work as there was a fire forcing my Starbucks store to close. Although this is a terrible thing I thought what a perfect time to do this as I’ve always wanted to. Most weeks I’m available anytime, anyday to help you and your furry friends. I currently can’t do boarding in my own home, but I’m more than happy and available to care for your pets in your own home. I have so much time for animals and love playing with them, I have so much love to give and a whole lot of time on my hands! So all the time in the world to keep your pets busy :)

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of animals and pets from a young age. Including dogs, cats and more. My family owned a garden centre growing up, where I helped care for the various animals there as well as looking after my own pets at home. I aim to provide peace of mind, knowing your pets are in safe, responsible and caring hands. Dog Specific Experience: I absolutely adore dogs and have grown up around a variety of breeds and sizes. I have cared for many friends and family members dogs, as well as my own. I am extremely passionate about animals and love to learn about them in my own time. My childhood dogs gave me a strong understanding of the different needs and requirements of different breeds. I currently own a miniature dachshund named Winnie and she is energetic, playful and mischievous. I spent a lot of time socialising Winnie as a puppy to ensure that she would grow into a confident and loving little dog - and she has! Winnie loves to get out and about. She loves to explore the world with her nose, as most dogs do. I’m knowledgable about dog diet, natural treats and enrichment toys and activities as I understand the importance of mental stimulation as well as physical activity. As a law student I attend uni three days a week however I’m currently finished up for the summer and won’t be back to uni until September 😊 I am happy to follow your pets usual routine, including any dietary requirements, training requirements and specific walking routes. I want to ensure that your pet is happy and comfortable as possible at all times.

About: I have always owned dogs from small sassy westies to large rescue dogs, i can accommodate to each dogs unique personality. I also love cats, and understand that most require patience and respect. I understand some pets take longer to come around, whilst others immediately want to be doted on and in happy to care for both ! I currently work flexible hours at a part time job, i require a weeks notice to book of times/days with my employer! I can also visit/walk pets before and after shifts and will try to fit your pet in where possible ! I do not offer pets staying at my home due to my own dogs not being the most sociable. At a pets sitter home, i will take care to let the pet slowly get used to me, not rush introductions and insure plenty treats. On dog walks, i like to do ‘sniff’ walks, ie, letting the dog lead and explore, sniffing for however long they want!

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - North Lanarkshire
Caitlin stayed with our 3 Italian greyhounds while we were away for 6 nights. Normally we leave them with family when we go away, and we were anxious about how they would do with a stranger. We shouldn't have worried, because within an hour or so of leaving our house, Caitlin sent us a photo of all the dogs cuddling up with her on the couch. She was really great about sending daily updates and photos, and the dogs were happy and healthy when we returned. Not only that, the house was as tidy as if she'd never been there, and she'd washed the towels she'd used, etc. (I wasn't expecting this and would've been happy to tidy up myself, so was a treat!) I would highly recommend Caitlin to anyone and would love to have her back with us in the future! 10/10!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Lanarkshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
