“Julia was amazing, she made a right fuss of little Jinx and looked after him while I was away for three nights. She made a big effort and kept in contact while I was away with photos! Thanks so much Julia 🐈⬛”

About: I have dog walked, dog and cat sat, and trained throughout my childhood and teenage years, and used that experience last year to work for a local company in my home town to walk and pet sit for pets of all kinds (cats, dogs of all sizes, and even birds). I am currently working from home with flexible hours, so I am able to look after your pets at anytime of the day for any length of time! Unfortunately I am unable to keep pets in my flat due to my tenancy agreement. However, for care in the pet owner’s home I offer long walks, games such as fetch, visits to the dog park, quality one on one time for senior pets and cats, feeding, training, baths, grooming, and even services such as taking out the bins and watering household plants if needed!
“Pipa the dog and Oreo and Biscuit the cats really loved Sidney. Oreo in particular isn't keen on strangers but Sidney he liked so she must have done something right haha! Pipa had a lovely day out during Sidney's stay too. House was left lovely and tidy and all animals well looked after! We would definitely be happy to have Sidney again :)”

“Fallon was great! She stayed at our place for six nights and looked after our pug Augie. Augie had a delightful time with her. She was responsive during our time away, sending regular updates, and took great care of the flat. Highly recommended.”

“Erin is ABSOLUTELY amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend for any of your fur babies. Erin sent me regular text messages and pictures throughout my time away and always kept me updated. Sequoia absolutely adored her time with Erin and was given the BEST care. Sequoia is a 4 month old puppy and Erin was even so kind as to keep up with her training routine while I was away - I came back to my perfectly behaved puppy with absolutely no training regression! Highly, highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of four cats and a dog. My dog is 6 years old, we’ve had past dogs, so I have puppy experience too! I work freelance and part-time so can take care of pets around the clock. I have two flatmates, who are all friendly with animals and are happy to have them if need be! I’m used to be very close with pets and giving them a very personal and gentle care experience. I’ve had pets sleep on the bed, regular cuddles or just days when they want to be left alone.

About: I have loved animals all my life and have grown up around both cats and dogs. I had a German Shepherd and have owned cats for most of my life, and regularly spend time with my boyfriend’s parents Cockapoo. As we sadly don’t currently have any pets I am really looking forward to having some animals around again! We are a couple in our late twenties living in Hyndland, both working hybrid and so there would always be someone in with your pet during the day ❤️🐾 We both work full time however both work hybrid and my partner is off every Friday. There will always be somebody around! We are available for walks, boarding, cat sitting or popping over to feed cats too if that is needed. We have a car so can get about easily! We stay in a flat in Hyndland so unfortunately don’t have a garden however we have lots of parks nearby, a shared garden outside and a car which we would use for bigger more exciting walks 🐾 otherwise we are really near to both Victoria park and kelvingrove park.
“Bruce housesat for us and took care of our little dachshund Sigmund for 6 days while we were travelling, and was just amazing. From start to end, he was just amazing - lovely, warm personality, very loving to animals and very knowledgeable as well. Our dog is a bit of a character and can be very reactive/aggressive with other dogs and strangers, but Bruce handled all of that in stride, trying various training techniques on walks and even got Sigi cuddling and playing with his own young dog. He has a great way with animals for sure and just hugely reliable and pleasant to deal with. Whilst we were gone he sent us loads of updates and videos/pics, and also took amazing care of our apartment. Hugely recommended!”

About: Grown up owning a Labrador and being surrounded by a number of family dogs of various sizes including rescue dogs. Our household welcomes all kind of paws and pups. I work shifts and my partner works hybrid (home and office). Between us there is someone home, keen to cuddle or up for a walk. We occasionally look after family and friends dogs when required. I have a fenced, secure garden. A box full of toys and treats for all dogs to enjoy. A dedicated cuddle chair calling out for a dog snuggle.

I work in a primary school between 8:30-3:30pm I am willing to offer dog walks at 6am if needed I am willing to walk all hours after 4pm when needed. I cannot complete Tuesdays or Thursdays If your dog is needed on extra safety I will do what I can to make sure you are happy with knowing your fur baby is in safe hands!
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and caring for them has always come naturally to me. I lost my own dog of 12 years last April, so I know how much pets mean to people and how important it is knowing they’re in safe hands. Since meeting my partner, his dog took to me straight away and we’ve become really close — I spend most of my free time with him. I’m used to both big and small breeds, including Border Collies, Staffy/Akita mixes and Cocker Spaniels. I also help care for family members’ and neighbours’ dogs regularly, whether that’s walks, feeding, playtime or just keeping them company. Dogs usually warm to me very quickly and I genuinely just love being around them. I currently have a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention, care and company they need. I’m available for walks, drop-ins and pet sitting throughout the week and weekends. Spending time with dogs is something I genuinely enjoy, so I’m always happy to fit my routine around their needs and keep them comfortable and settled. Your dog’s safety and comfort will always come first with me. I’m very attentive to routines, behaviour and making sure pets feel relaxed in their environment. I’m experienced with both large and small breeds and understand that every dog is different. Whether that’s sticking to feeding schedules, long walks, playtime or just giving them company and reassurance, I’ll care for them like they’re my own.
About: I have experience caring for my own dog as well as looking after several cats, giving me confidence in providing loving, reliable care for different types of pets. I work full-time Monday–Friday from 8:30am–4:00pm, so I’m best suited for pets that are comfortable during working hours. I’m available for morning and evening care on weekdays, with much more flexibility on weekends for house sitting, cat care, and longer stays. I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while keeping to their usual routine as much as possible. In a pet owner’s home, I follow feeding schedules carefully, keep litter trays clean, refresh water regularly, and give plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I can also ensure the safety of your home, keeping things clean and tidy and be completely respectful. I can also water plants. I’m happy to send photo updates for peace of mind and always keep the home tidy and secure.

About: I cared for my dog for 9 years, whilst also helping those around my neighbourhood when they needed this. My dog faced some difficulties so I am capable of suiting the needs of those who require further assistance. I’m currently working from home so have availability during lunch hours to be available for whatever your furry friends may need. Weekends can also be fully flexible to suit the needs of your animal. I have a fenced garden with lots of space for your furry friends to roam about. I also have a large grass area across from my home where I would be able to walk your animal.

I have quite a flexible schedule and so can fit in walks throughout the day! I have just moved back from uni so currently don’t have anything else apart from this! About: Hi! I am Miri (she/her), I am 27 and work remotely in the Charity sector. I am caring, sensible and reliable and have a big love for cats and dogs - missing my bub Carlo who is at home with my parents very much! Growing up, we always had pets so looking after them feels second nature to me and brings me so much joy 💛 I work from home and my work are very flexible, so am available for drop-in services twice a day (before work/ lunch/after work). For dog boarding I can provide breaks for playing and going outside every 2-4 hours :) When I come to your home, I will be patient whilst your pet gets to know me and do everything I can to create a comfortable and trusting environment for them. For boarding, we have a fenced garden and front garden as well as direct access to both.
About: I've had dogs since childhood, a German Shepherd called Rebel and a Russell terrier called Spencer and I loved them both very dearly. I have great memories of them and hope to make more with your pets. I'm a part time football coach and with the season over for the summer, I have a lot more free time to look after your pets. I am currently at any time during the day for dog walking and pet sitting. Situated in the West End, I live close to the Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park so there's no shortage of places to walk and play. I live in a flat with an enclosed communal garden which is ideal for over night pet sitting. The area is quiet meaning that more anxious dogs can properly relax.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - East Dunbartonshire
Nina recently house-sat our labrador Bailey and looked after him brilliantly while we were away for a 2 week break. Nina was very flexible in approach and was happy to do a meet and greet to get to know Bailey, and our home. Always arrived on time and was very prompt to respond to messages, which makes organising much easier. She sent lots of updates and pictures which provided peace of mind while we were away, and it was clear he was well looked after. Our home was also maintained perfectly while we were away. I would highly recommend Nina as a dog walker/sitter and have already enquired about availability for our next holiday.

Lisa was everything whilst on my holiday, Came to meet the cats and everything clicked into place, i just knew i was leaving them with a fantastic individual. When it came time to leave, Lisa reassured me and when away? So many pictures and updates, she was fantastic. Even on the way back, coming in, everything was taken care of, the cats were so happy and well groomed. She is a dream for an anxious cat parent. If you don’t travel, or go away from your kitties much, she is the one i would book in a heartbeat once again. Once again Lisa, thank you so much for everything you’ve done this weekend, it has been an absolute wonder!!

Pipa the dog and Oreo and Biscuit the cats really loved Sidney. Oreo in particular isn't keen on strangers but Sidney he liked so she must have done something right haha! Pipa had a lovely day out during Sidney's stay too. House was left lovely and tidy and all animals well looked after! We would definitely be happy to have Sidney again :)

Erin watched Skye for the first time overnight after a meet and greet. Skye took to her immediately. Erin took great care of her. I also got lots of nice updates and it was clear from the photos that Skye was enjoying herself and there was nothing for me to worry about. Erin herself is absolutely lovely! I can’t wait for her to watch Skye again.

We had Andrea look after Finn for the first time, and he was really happy with her from the start. She kept us very well updated throughout, and it was so reassuring to see how content and comfortable he was. As a vet student, Andrea clearly has a great understanding of animals, and she took very good care of Finn with lots of cuddles and walks. We would highly recommend Andrea and happily book with her again. Thank you Andrea!

This was our first time having Clarrie look after Finn and she took wonderful care of him. We could see how happy he was with her from our first meeting and he had a fantastic time with lots of walks and fun. Clarrie kept us updated with great communication from start to finish, which meant we could relax and enjoy our time away knowing he was in safe hands. We would highly recommend Clarrie and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much, Clarrie!

As this was our first time being away from Ollie for a weekend, we were so nervous leaving him. Fallon put our worries to ease and took such great care of our cheeky boy! We were so glad to see Ollie was having a great time from all the photo and video updates. We can’t thank Fallon enough! We will definitely book again :)

This is the third time Alys has looked after our home and our two dogs - Blondie and Clyde. As on the other occasions she was excellent. She really looked after our dogs well. The dogs absolutely love her. She sent regular photos and updates and she left our home in immaculate condition. We can’t recommend her highly enough. Thank you for everything Alys.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.

- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Dunbartonshire choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
