About: Hi, I’m Sophia, a 22-year-old student at the University of Glasgow! I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and have always had a strong love for animals. Our family dog was a German Shepherd cross, so I’m comfortable around larger breeds as well as smaller dogs. After he passed away, my family and I began dog sitting and caring for many dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Since moving to Glasgow for university, I’ve really missed having dogs around, so I decided to get back into dog sitting and dog walking. I’ve absolutely loved being able to spend more time with animals again and getting to know each pet’s unique personality. While I have plenty of experience with dogs, I’m also a huge cat lover and really enjoy spending time with cats of all ages and temperaments. I’ve even befriended many of the neighbourhood cats near me! I am a university student about to start my final year of an integrated master’s degree. My schedule is flexible outside of lectures and study time, and I can plan my day around pet care. I am available for regular toilet breaks, walks, feeding, and attention throughout the day depending on the booking. I treat every pet as if they were my own and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I stick to their usual routine, pay close attention to their individual needs, and make sure they’re never left in unsafe situations. I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you know how they’re getting on.

Jade took wonderful care of Leo and Thomas while we were away. She was attentive, patient, and clearly understands cats and their personalities. We loved receiving updates and could see how relaxed and happy they were with her. It’s not easy to trust someone with your pets, but Jade made it effortless. Highly recommended.

About: I’ve always had an affinity with animals, predominantly cats and dogs. Currently have a 3 year old patterdale terrier I’ve trained myself. She’s super sociable and great with anxious dogs. I’m currently working part time from home and have time to look after more animals. Already I am out and about often with my own pup who is quite the adventurer. Happy to spend some time looking after more pets. I will treat your pet as I would my own, they will have space if they want to chill on their own or are more than welcome to hang out together.

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience with Fallon, she was everything we had hoped for in terms of a pet sitter. Fallon is clearly exceptionally experienced with animals and that was clear within minutes of talking with her. She updated us on every visit with a video/picture and a report of how our cat Pepper was doing, and really helped to put our minds at ease on our first holiday away from our pet. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again for our next trip, and would highly recommend her to anyone else in a similar situation.

About: I have dog walked, dog and cat sat, and trained throughout my childhood and teenage years, and used that experience last year to work for a local company in my home town to walk and pet sit for pets of all kinds (cats, dogs of all sizes, and even birds). I am currently working from home with flexible hours, so I am able to look after your pets at anytime of the day for any length of time! Unfortunately I am unable to keep pets in my flat due to my tenancy agreement. However, for care in the pet owner’s home I offer long walks, games such as fetch, visits to the dog park, quality one on one time for senior pets and cats, feeding, training, baths, grooming, and even services such as taking out the bins and watering household plants if needed!

About: With my Dad who races pigeons and an Auntie who rescues dogs and used to volunteer with The Dog's Trust, I am one of the lucky ones who has grown up around animals their entire life. We kept budgies and rabbits, a dog and a cat. I had neighbours who asked me to look after their guinea pig, and another who asked me to look after their Yorkshire Terrier, I have wide experience with different animals and on different terms, including overnight stays and daily meal time visits, or just as a companion for a few hours. My boyfriend is always catching me talking to various dogs and our cats when we are out on walks. I'm currently working from home as a freelance photographer which gives me a pretty flexible weekly routine. I live close to a number of parks for walks, but also close to public transport for home visits.I As previously mentioned, I have been entrusted with things like staying overnight to look after a friend's cats, dropping by to check in with pet wellbeing and keeping them company for a few hours and dishing up meal time. Additionally, as someone very fond of nature, dog walks are something I really miss about moving to the city from the Scottish Highlands where I grew up with said cat, dog, rabbits, budgies and pigeons.

I can also ensure the safety of your home, keeping things clean and tidy and be completely respectful. I can also water plants. About: What Sets Me Apart. I got my first dog at the age of 5 years old, after asking for a puppy constantly my Dad came home with a wee Whippet. Other past family dogs that i have experience of are Bedlington Terrier, Jack Russell, Chow Chow, German Shepherd, King Charles Spaniel, Shetland Sheepdog, Border Collie, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Cane Corso. With many years of dedicated and trusted pet sitter for friends and family, I offer a level of care that goes far beyond basic dog walking. My extensive background is backed by professional certifications in pet first aid and advanced dog training. I’ve completed comprehensive course in professional dog walking. I am currently a member of the Guild of Dog Trainers entry level Companion Assistant Dog Trainer. This unique combination of hands-on experience and formal training allows me to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for your beloved companion. I specialise in providing tailored care for playful puppies and mixed breed rescue dogs with behavioural issues. My true passion and expertise, however, lie in working with anxious, nervous, or fear-based reactive dogs, particularly guardian breeds. I approach every dog with a calm, caring, and nurturing demeanor, creating a sense of trust and security that allows even the most sensitive dogs to relax and thrive in my care. My commitment to transforming dogs' lives and supporting dog owners is best illustrated by a recent case study. I undertook behaviour modification program with a reactive dog who had a history of biting and was at risk of being euthanised. Through patient and skilled intervention, she has been successfully rehabilitated. While this intensive program is not a typical service, it demonstrates the depth of my dedication and my ability to handle even the most challenging situations with compassion and expertise. When you entrust your pet to my care, you can be confident they are in the hands of a true professional who is deeply committed to their well-being. My life revolves around dogs, and my own dogs are testament to that commitment. I have started working as self employed dog walker and dog trainer after years of doing it for free to help out friends and family. I am dedicated to hands-on training with my own dogs, a practice that not only sharpens my skills but also ensures I am always bringing the most current and effective techniques to the pets I care for. Saturday I have coaching walk and talk with my own dog and dog training clients. I take Sundays and Mondays to focus on admin and self care. This routine allows me to offer consistent, focused attention to your dog ensuring they receive the highest standard of care and companionship. Therefore, my availability works around about my own dogs. To ensure your pet's utmost comfort and to maintain a consistent routine, I provide all my pet care services exclusively within your own home. This approach allows your pet to remain in their familiar environment, surrounded by their own scents, toys, and comforts, which significantly reduces stress and anxiety while you are away. Currently, I am unable to host pets in my own home as I reside in a rented property where I do not have permission to board other animals. By offering to come to your home, I can give your pet my full attention in the space where they feel most secure, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for everyone.

About: I have had dogs my whole life, of several different breeds, as well as a cat since I was 9. I love all pets so much and generally find they accept me. I have learned how to take care of a puppy, kitten, and my dog once he got older and needed more care. I helped my parents with training our golden retriever puppy, and I have helped out family and neighbours with pee breaks, walks, and some overnight stays. I have university during the week days but can definitely do overnight stays if not too far away, and always can come by in evenings and on weekends. I also know incorporating pets in my life will add so much to my daily life, I’m happy to always work around my schedule. I always make sure to tick off all the things a pet will need, and check in with them (instead of just doing my own thing). I am happy to play, or to cuddle, or to not do anything if needed. I am also good to exercise the pets however much is needed

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Cat Sitting in East Dunbartonshire on Rover is £13.8 per Visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 684 sitters on Rover for Cat Sitting in East Dunbartonshire. About 93% of East Dunbartonshire sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
