Josephine accepted a last minute booking and I think my dog, Rufus, really liked her. He knows his usual dogsitters very well so I was a bit nervous about him never having met Josephine as he can be wary of strangers. Josephine sent photos of Rufus on his walk and he looked delighted! Will book again

Izzi was absolutely brilliant looking after our cat Simba while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Simba can be quite shy and wary of new people, but Izzi was incredibly patient with her and clearly took the time to understand her personality and let her come round at her own pace. It was lovely to see Simba gradually becoming more comfortable and affectionate with her — by the end, Izzi had definitely won her over! Izzi kept us updated throughout, was thoughtful and attentive, and went above and beyond, even helping us out with a parcel while we were away. We felt completely reassured knowing Simba was in such kind and capable hands. Izzi clearly genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and that really came across in all our conversations. We would have absolutely no hesitation in asking her to look after Simba again and would recommend her very highly to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring and reliable pet sitter. Thank you, Izzi!

About: Hi I'm Lorna! I'm a kindhearted animal lover who is eager to love and care for every animal, big or small. I have loved animals since I was little, having had pets from cats and dogs to reptiles and rodents. I currently have 2 cute cats who I adore. My pet sitting experience includes looking after an energetic bulldog puppy, and overnight care for cats with medicine requirements. I currently work part-time, so my schedule is quite flexible. I would love to expand my pet sitting experience and take great care of your furry friends! I'm currently working part time so I have lots of time to love, care for and play with your pet! Giving them the love and affection they deserve. I will take great care of your pet by keeping up their normal routines, giving them lots of attention and stimulation through play time and cuddles.

Very happy with Justine's care of my cat Sherbet while I was away. It was good to meet Justine before to show her the flat and Sherbet. I felt very confident with her coming to feed Sherbet and that as a cat owner herself, she would take good care of mine - which she did. She answered questions promptly and when I was away she sent a few messages with photos of Sherbet looking happy and content. I would definitely recommend Justine as a cat sitter and hope she's avaliable to do do the next time I'm away. Thank you

About: I’m a lifelong animal owner with hands-on experience caring for a wide range of breeds and temperaments, including Irish Wolfhound crosses, Border Collies, Miniature Dachshunds, and cats. I’ve also cared for chickens and small animals, so I’m comfortable managing different routines and environments. Having recently relocated from Australia, I’m excited to share the care and attention I’ve always given my own pets with yours. I work partly online, which means I’m home for much of the day and able to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and structure. Whether your dog is a high-energy working breed needing long walks and mental stimulation, a puppy learning the ropes, or a senior who prefers a slower pace, I adapt to their individual needs. I’m confident with puppies and happy to reinforce basic training, boundaries, and positive routines. I’m also comfortable administering oral medications and following detailed care instructions. Routine is extremely important to me. I aim to keep feeding, walking, playtime, and sleep schedules as close to normal as possible to ensure your pet feels secure and settled while you’re away. As a homeowner myself, I understand how valuable trust and reliability are. Your home and pets will be treated with the same care and respect I give my own. Mornings and evenings are structured around feeding, walks, playtime, and any medication needs. I plan my work flexibly to ensure pets receive consistent attention if needed, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I can be a home body or out and about for puppy chinos. Walking to the local Cafe after a run in the park is one of my favourite hobbies, closely followed by a good book and a glass of wine by the fire. I really do just adapt to the needs of your pet :) . I prioritise maintaining the pet’s established routine to minimise stress. Feeding times, walks, play sessions, and medication schedules are followed carefully. I respect the home as if it were my own, keeping it clean, secure, and tidy. I also provide regular photo and message updates so owners feel reassured while they’re away. I’m comfortable caring for puppies, reinforcing basic training and positive habits, as well as administering oral medications for both dogs and cats. My approach is calm, consistent, and attentive, with the goal of keeping pets happy, secure, and settled.

About: I have over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for my family's dog, who was a cherished member of our household. Throughout those years, I was involved in every aspect of their care, including feeding, walking, grooming, administering medication when needed, attending veterinary appointments, and providing daily companionship and attention. This long-term experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to recognize and respond to a dog's physical and emotional needs. Our beloved dog fudge recently passed away, and while it has been a difficult loss, the experience has deepened my appreciation for the bond between people and animals and strengthened my passion for caring for dogs. I currently work from home, however, I am available to travel and work from anywhere that has stable Internet if needed. I am free weekends and can be free from 6pm weekdays. I will ensure all windows remain closed, verify that all areas are free from potential hazards, and confirm that your cat receives adequate playtime, is content, and is properly fed.

Denny, FK6

About: Hey! I’m Connie, 34 and a dog lover moving back to Denny from June onwards 🐾 Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I had my Bichon Frise, Ollie, for 13 years, and since losing him I’ve continued caring for dogs regularly, especially my brother’s Cockapoo, Lottie (my little fur niece!), who I look after once or twice a week 🐶. I work full time during the week, but I work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I can be more flexible on those days. At the moment, I’m mainly offering: ✅ House sitting ✅ Dog walking ✅ Drop-in visits House sitting works best for me right now, and I also find most pets are far more comfortable staying in their own home and routine 🏡🐾 I’m very respectful of people’s homes and always make sure everything is kept tidy, secure, and well looked after. For dog walking, I’m available: ✅ Early mornings (Mon–Fri, 6–8am) ✅ Lunch breaks (Tues & Thurs) ✅ Evenings after 5pm (weekdays) ✅ Anytime Saturdays & Sundays I’m happy to do anything from quick toilet breaks to longer walks depending on your dog’s age, energy level, and routine 🌿🐕 I can also offer drop-in visits for feeding, letting pets out, company, and making sure they’re settled and cared for while you’re away 🐾 I’m a calm, patient, and affectionate person, and I always adapt to each pet’s personality — whether they want lots of interaction and play, or just a gentle, reassuring presence 💛 I also always keep owners updated with photos and messages so you know your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away 🤍 I work full time Mon-Fri (9-4.30pm). I work from home on Tuesdays & Thursdays, which gives me more flexibility for walks and drop in visits during the day. On office days (Mon, Wed, Fri), I am available for morning walks before work and evening visits after 4.30pm. I am also fully available at weekends which allows for more flexibility, longer walks and regular care as needed. I enjoy being active and outdoors - I love going for drives and long walks and I am happy to include dogs where appropriate. I also enjoy quieter time at home, so I'm comfortable caring for pets who just need calm company and a steady presence. I am organised and reliable, ensuring pet care is something I can consistently fit around my work while still giving pets plenty of time, care and attention 💗 I provide care in the pet owner's home, where pets feel safest and most comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow each pet's usual routine as closely as possible including feeding times and durations, fresh water, toilet breaks and playtime! I include walks tailored to their energy levels and needs along with playtime, attention and companionship so they feel happy and stimulated. I will always ensure your home is left secure and tidy after each visit and will always provide updates and photos so you feel reassured while you're away 📸 I always focus on creating a caring, calm presence so your pet feels comfortable and well looked after.

About: I’ve been looking after dogs my whole life, I’ve grown up with numerous different dogs big and small. I’ve always been involved in all aspects of their care including walking them, bathing them and dealing with the vets. As my gran got older and struggled I took over the care of her 3 dogs and gave them their daily medications, took them to the vets every month, walked them daily, took them to the groomers and ensured they had the best life. I have also been a pet sitter before for my neighbours and stayed with her dogs for a few days. I am currently a 3rd year student midwife so I am available during the week when I am not in university and at the weekends. When I am on placement my availability will be slightly different but I can work around things. I live in a lovely quiet rural area perfect for walks. I am available to stay in homes if required but would not bring dogs home due to my cat.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
