About: Being native of the French Alps, I have been around dogs, especially big dogs (Belgian Shepherd, German shepherds, Bernese Mountain dogs, etc) all my life. I have always had cats (I currently have 3 cats + a Horsefield tortoise) and I have looked after dogs, goats, ducks, hens, geese, fish, axolotls and snakes. As well as canines and felines, I love all farm animals and reptiles. All animals, really, except midges and ticks 😆 if on me. I’m currently working part time from home so flexible with day visiting hours. Happy to rise early or visiting late. Likely to come by bike if very local. I live in a small rural village. My 3 cats have a cat flap, dried food always available and wet food twice a day, so they are independent. They have a lot of interaction with local cats and dogs. I am used to caring for indoor cats too. The tortoise is outside either in rabbit type hutch or large enclosure. I move him around depending on the weather and vary the leafy environment for him, so that there is excitement and a sense of freedom in his life. I also take him for a walk on a local quiet path; he loves it!
“Sean was a god send this weekend with my very young 10 week old pup! I had to work nightshift and circumstances changed suddenly so I had no one available to watch my boy. Sean was able to stay the whole night the first night to make sure my pup would settle, then did a late night drop in the second night. Was so helpful to have someone able to do awkward hours and communication was great. Definitely recommend”

About: I grew up around dogs, training and caring for them has always been a huge part of my life. I've cared for and owned various breeds, of all sizes, so I have a great understanding of different dogs and their behaviours. This helps me ensure they are happy, comfortable & getting what they need. I live in a one bedroom flat with my dachshund, Jasper, located coviently close to a park, and also have direct access to an enclosed garden from my flat. So we're in the perfect spot for dogs to have a long walk and play around the park, or if the weather doesn't allow then cuddles and games at home on the sofa. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friend! I am currently working part-time and have plenty of time to look after your dogs. I do dog walking, day care or dog sitting in my home, alongside my own little dog I have a fully enclosed garden so the dogs can play safely outdoors. When inside I will provide the care they need based on your recommendation. Happy to accommodate crates and administer oral medication, etc.
“Hannah provided us with an exceptional experience being away from pets but having the comfort of Hannah's attention to detail and affection towards our cats. Highly recommend and would consider future booking with Hannah.”

About: Hi, I’m Katie! 💛 I’ve been dog-mad for as long as I can remember and have grown up with dogs all my life. Looking after them never feels like work to me – I genuinely love spending time with them and getting to know all their different personalities. Since starting on Rover, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for lots of lovely dogs, from bouncy puppies to older dogs who enjoy a quieter routine. Every dog is different, and that’s one of my favourite things about dog sitting. When I’m looking after your dog, they’ll get plenty of love, attention and company. I’ll follow their usual routine, make sure they get lots of walks and cuddles, and send regular photo updates so you can see what they’ve been getting up to while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone not only with your dog, but with your home too. I always treat every home with the same care and respect I would my own. My aim is always for your dog to feel safe, happy and completely at home, and for you to enjoy your time away knowing they’re being well looked after. I can’t wait to meet you and your dog! ❤️ As I have previously mentioned, I have just come back from living in Australia so i am very flexible and available 7 days a week. Whether I’m caring for your dog in my home or yours, their safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow their normal routines, give them plenty of love and attention, and always keep you updated with photos and messages. I make sure every dog feels safe, happy and cared for like part of my family.

About: I have loved animals ever since I was a young child and have grown up with both dogs and cats. I have my own two dogs who I adore! Don't worry, they won't be coming along with me to drop in's - your dog will get 100% of my attention. Alongside being around dogs most of my life, I have a degree in animal behaviour and welfare. So please be rest assured that your dog will be in good hands. I can be very flexible with timings for drop ins be it morning, afternoon or evening. This is currently my only job, so I can be available 7 days a week if needed. I offer drop in visits in your home. This is ideal for young puppies, elderly, injured dogs or for those with separation anxiety. During my visit, I will be happy to refresh water and feed if required. I will also ensure to give your dog some attention and offering them a pee break.
About: I've cared for animals most of my life, with years of experience raising cats and the past three years spent with my energetic and loving dog. I've also regularly looked after pets for family and friends, including dogs, cats, and small animals. I'm comfortable with a variety of temperaments and routines, and I always treat every pet like they're my own — with patience, love, and lots of attention. I’m currently at uni and work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule that lets me fit in pet care around my classes and shifts. Whether it’s popping in for visits, going on walks, or spending extra time with your pet, I can usually adjust my routine to suit what works best for you and your furry friend. When I’m pet sitting in someone else’s home, I always make sure to treat it with the same care and respect as I do the pets. I follow your routines closely, keep things tidy, and make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable in their own space while you're away.
“Thanks Amaris! This was my first time using Rover and Amaris was great! Wallace seemed totally unbothered that I had left him! Amaris was great at communicating with me and I knew she would look after my puppy! Thank you!”

“Claire was great. She sent me photos and videos of my cats. They were well cared for, fed, watered, entertained and litter tray sorted. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or use her services again.”
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of different breeds through looking after family and friends dogs. They relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. I am currently at Abertay University studying Food, Nutrition, and Health. Therefore, i would love to take care of your pets in my spare time! I have a closed off garden to keep your dogs safe. I can easily crate your dogs also if that is what you would be looking to do.
“Ana was great! She looked after our cats over Christmas, and we returned to two happy and relaxed kitties, along with a tidy home. She kept us up to date daily, and communication was always quick and easy. Thank you! :) ”

Antonia was excellent. Updating us, photos and being very aware of how the cats were. She even managed to get one of our cats who is very shy, to come and speak to her on her first visit. Would absolutely recommend Antonia to take the best care of your cats

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
