“Charlene was an absolute star! 🌟 Could not of asked for anyone better to look after my fur baby. From start to finish she made me feel completely at ease with leaving Meg for the night. Already booked her next overnight, and Meg can’t wait to see her again! 🥰”

“Cameron was fantastic with Lieben and when I returned after my wee break Lieben appeared totally relaxed as if I had never been away Cameron will be looking after Lieben again shortly. I would highly recommend Cameron”

“Rhona was lovely and did a great job with our 2 dogs while we were away for a few days! She was very kind and very helpful, giving us plenty of updates and making sure dogs were happy. Thanks Rhona!”

“We met Sean a few days before the sit and Angus took to him immediately as did we. What a thoroughly nice gentleman. So accommodating, friendly and approachable. He will be my go to sitter that’s for sure. Can’t thank him or recommend him enough.”

“Hannah was absolutely wonderful with my Goldendoodle puppy, Bunny. She immediately put me at ease, which made what could have been a stressful experience feel very relaxed and reassuring. Hannah clearly understands dogs and was incredibly patient, gentle, and attentive. Bunny was very happy, well cared for, and I could tell she received plenty of affection and attention throughout the day. I really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave me great peace of mind while I was away. Hannah also took the time to work with Bunny’s training and routine, which meant a lot to me. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Hannah again and would very happily recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and genuinely caring sitter. Thank you again, Hannah 😊”

“Megan was brilliant while we were away. She stayed at our house for the week and took such lovely care of Frances—it was really clear how comfortable and happy she’d been when we got back. It made such a difference knowing everything was in good hands while we were gone. We’d happily have Megan back anytime and would definitely recommend her.”

About: I’m not just a regular pet sitter, I’m a cool pet sitter! Based in Perth, I treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. From walkies and playtime to cuddles and care, I tailor every visit to suit their needs. You’ll always have peace of mind with regular updates, knowing your pets are in reliable, loving hands and maybe even having a little extra fun along the way! Pet care is part of my everyday routine. I work a hybrid role which allows me to be at home often, giving me flexibility and plenty of time to dedicate to pets in my care. I also have two horses and my own dog, so looking after animals is a normal and fulfilling part of my life. I understand the love, attention, and responsibility they need, and I enjoy making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for every single day. The safety and wellbeing of every pet I care for will always be my top priority. I take the time to understand each pet’s routine, personality, and any specific needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. I treat every animal as if they were my own, providing gentle handling, safe environments, and lots of love and attention. To build trust with owners, I keep open communication with regular updates, photos, and messages so they always know how their pet is doing. By being reliable, caring, and consistent, both pets and their owners can feel confident and at ease.

“I can’t recommend Katie highly enough, she is superb. She looked after our two Cavalier King Charles spaniels for a week in our home and not only did she take amazing care of them, but also our home. She sent frequent updates and it was easy to relax while we were away as it was clear from the photos and videos, that both of our pups were very happy and relaxed with her. It is clear from the first time we met, Katie has a genuine love of animals and our two instantly took to her. We would not hesitate to book with Katie again😊”
“Excellent service from Justine, warm & friendly and just loved the dogs They both seemed to be very happy & content with her, lots of photos sent and regular updates so I was happy too ☺️ Will definitely be requesting Justine again!”

About: Hello, my name is Margaret. I live 10 minutes away from the centre of Perth, so I'm in a great location to travel and help out with your pets at short notice. I'm also happy to do small household tasks like taking the bins in/out and closing/opening curtains if required while you are away. As a cat owner and previous user of cat sitter services, I know how important it is to have a proactive and caring person available to look after your pet. My own cat is an 11 year old boy called Louie who had a period of ill health several years ago, so I am experienced at looking after cats with medical issues. I am happy to pop in to say hello and establish your cat's needs before you leave. I will also provide daily updates (including photos/videos of your pets) so you don't miss them too much until you return 🐱
“Another fantastic sitter session with Luna, Chloe came to the house to look after Luna for a few hours, we got photos and updates throughout, Luna looked like she had fun. Doggy tv left on until we returned was a special touch. Thanks again!”

About: I grew up surrounded by a variety of animals - dogs, cats, horses, alpacas, sheep, poultry, and tropical fish - and have always had a deep love on animals. I have always had a dog in my life and have owner-experience of Border Collies, German Shepherds, Springer Spaniels and I currently have a young Cocker Spaniel who I enjoy training and taking on adventurous walks. I work away so I am not always available, however when I am at home I am available all day everyday so can dedicate whatever time is needed to the animals in my care. I am happy to visit the dog or cat in their own home, feed, take for walks or toilet breaks, and play. I will always treat the dog and their home with care and respect. I am happy to take the dog in my car to a more interesting walk location, but only if the owner is happy for this to happen. Walkies can be with my dog or own their own, whichever suits the individual best. For house sitting services, I have a campervan which I would prefer to stay in at your property as I have my own dog.

About: Im 26, animal / outdoor lover. I’ve always enjoyed looking after cats around my work, I’ve done this for about 7 years without actively looking for cats, just often seem to be asked to cat sit. Since loosing my own cat I thought I’d seek some cats needing looked after myself as I have a bit more time now that I don’t look after my own and definitely missing cat company.
About: I've interacted with dogs all my life. I have always had a special connection with dogs. I have experience with dogs from weeks old all the way to the ripe old age of 16 years old. I have trained rescue dogs with aggression issues, including older dogs like Charlie, my departed Collie who I rescued when he was 10 years old. He went from aggressive on the lead to walking safely off the lead within 6 months. My primary occupation is as a live at home carer and I am.also a freelance journalist. I am incredibly flexible and have plenty free time. I live in the perfect place for dogs. I have a fenced garden and live 500 feet from Broughty Ferry's stunning waterfront which offers a variety of stunning walks to take pooch's on.

About: I've been enjoying using another app for house sitting pets in the owners home, have looked after 35 pets so far mostly dogs and really enjoy getting to know each beautiful soul! I'm physically and mentally strong, able to manage more demanding behaviors and with gentle patience, charm the most nervous pets. I'm a freelance community project lead so I am flexible and enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible. I love a walk to the park that backs on to my home or a bigger jaunt round to Victoria and Lochee park. I have a fenced in garden for zoomies and the park adjacent for longer stretches. We use the back door as our main door which offers additional safety as we can implement an 'airlock' system between the two internal doors 😅. Our neighborhood is a 20 zone and we live on a cul-de-sac. We have space for your crate if you would like to provide one for your dog's comfort.
“Amaris is a lovely person and our dogs liked her immediately. She sent updates and photos which we appreciated. There was a miscommunication about the food that was my fault but the dogs were happy being fed a bit more than usual! We would use Amaris again.”

About: I have been taking care of dogs of my own or for neighbours and friends since a young age, which developed into a small clientele of dogs whom I would regularly care for throughout my university studies. I have experience caring for puppies (and can confidently assist or continue puppy training) all the way to elderly dogs and am happy administering medication (non-injection). I like to chat with the owners before taking on a pet sitting job to ensure I know exactly what kind of care you expect from me and, more importantly, how I can make the experience as enjoyable as possible for your furry friend. I am currently a PhD student at the University of Dundee so have full autonomy over my schedule and can be at home or take time off during weekday day times. I have availability over the weekends and evenings and can arrange my work to fit around longer sits if need be. I have an enclosed garden which will be useable by your pet only. I live very close to big open spaces so can take them for any length or duration of exercise they might require. I tend to ask owners the specifics of how they prefer me to care for their pet. For example, any feeding/toilet/sleeping schedules, sleeping arrangements and whether or not they should be allowed on furniture/on beds etc. In my opinion the environment I can provide for your pet is largely up to you.
About: Detached 4 bedroom new build house, in a quiet housing estate. No children. The garden is spacious and fenced. Outside the front of the house is a large open green space. At the rear of the house is a wildlife corridor (great for sniffs). The housing estate is surrounded by Dunnikier Woods and close to Dunnikier Park. I adore dogs. They are my passion in life and I feel it is a privilege to look after them and spend time with them. I work 9:30 - 4:30 Monday - Friday as a primary school teacher in Kirkcaldy. I am flexible to work with and suit the needs of clients. I have a large four bedroom house with lots of space for pets. There are no children in the house, apart from the fur variety. I have two cats and a dog, who are all very friendly.
“If we could give Christine 6 stars, we totally would! She was amazing with our dogs and her love for dogs is palpable. She is very thoughtful and respectful and though one of our boys is a bit shy and a bit unsure around new people, Christine was super patient and took her time to make him feel at ease. We came back to two very happy and well looked after boys and our house in pristine state. We cannot recommend Christine enough! Thank you xx”

I strongly recommend Hannah as a pet-sitter. She really bonded with my dog during the initial visit. She listened carefully to the information I provided. She took loving care of my dog during the stay, and sent regular updates to me while I was away. Hannah also left the house just as she found it.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Perth walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Perth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
