I honestly can’t recommend Sam highly enough. From the very start, he took the time to meet us and our three dogs and one cat in advance, which made such a difference — especially as all of our pets have adoption or complicated health backgrounds and their own quirks and needs. The level of care was outstanding. Communication throughout was excellent; I felt completely reassured knowing how everyone was doing. They were walked so much — I’ve never seen my dogs look quite so relaxed and content when we got back. Coming home to a clean, well-looked-after space was the icing on the cake. It was clear how much genuine care, professionalism, and respect Sam has not just for animals, but for people’s homes too. As a professional dog boarder myself, my standards are high — and Sam met them in every way which is a first and the highest praise I can give. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to book again and will likely watch Sam’s calendar like a hawk to organise my next vacation.

Naomi looked after our dogs and house so well. She came before the sit to do a meet and greet, and the dogs were very comfortable around her. Naomi followed their routine and provided enrichment for them, she sent daily updates and photos. The dogs were calm and relaxed when we arrived home, always a good sign! And the house was spotless - we can highly recommend Naomi and will be booking her again before long!

Megan was brilliant while we were away. She stayed at our house for the week and took such lovely care of Frances—it was really clear how comfortable and happy she’d been when we got back. It made such a difference knowing everything was in good hands while we were gone. We’d happily have Megan back anytime and would definitely recommend her.

Hazel and Daniel were fantastic with our Dachshund Norman. It was clear from all the updates and fantastic pictures that he was having the best time. Being a lockdown dog he is quite nervous and very attached to us however that quickly changed and Hazel and Daniel knew exactly how to interact with him to make him comfortable. Thank you guys again!

Abigael is amazing. We had previously relied on relatives looking after our dog. But they’re getting on a bit now. And our dog, now 10yrs and quite naturally anxious made us not very keen to try too hard for alternative arrangements. But we were in a situation whereby we really needed someone to look after our dog and landed on unbelievable luck, finding Abigael. She is kind, follows nuances of detail that come with an older dog used to his ways! Abigael put us at ease immediately (and our dog!) and we felt we could trust her right away too. We would 💯 recommend Abigael. And might even plan a few trips now… as long as she is free!!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have been trusted with their care from a young age. I have extensive hands-on experience with a range of breeds, including high-energy dogs like Vizslas and my own Weimaraner. I’ve also cared for Labradors and French Bulldogs belonging to family and friends. Over the years, I’ve learned various training techniques and understand how to meet the unique needs of different dogs, especially those that require more physical activity and mental stimulation. Since moving out and leaving my dogs at my family home, I really miss having that daily interaction and would love the opportunity to care for other pets as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work full-time, with most days spent working from home and in the office only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I’m an early riser, so I have plenty of time in the mornings for walks, feeding, and playtime. I also take advantage of my lunch hour to get outside and give dogs a break, whether for a walk or just some company and stimulation. Even on my office days, I can arrange early morning and evening care, so your pet’s needs are always a priority in my schedule. I currently stay in a large ground-floor flat with easy outdoor access, which makes walks and bathroom breaks convenient. While I’m not offering boarding or day care at my own home at the moment, I’m more than happy to care for pets in their own homes where they’re most comfortable. When providing daily care, I tailor the routine to the dog’s needs—this can include multiple walks throughout the day depending on the breed and energy level, along with shorter bathroom breaks, playtime, and plenty of affection. I aim to keep pets relaxed and happy by maintaining their usual routines as closely as possible.

Sarah was great and so accommodating when she looked after my 2 husky's Demon and Keiko and my daughters spaniel Bella in our house whilst we were on holiday for 2 weeks. My 2 have never been left and I was a bit apprehensive leaving them as they are a bit demanding but I had nothing at all to worry about, the puppies loved her and everything was great on our return. She kept in touch with us sending pics and texts on a daily basis, really put my mind at ease. Can't say enough good things about Sarah. Would definitely recommend and will be having her back very soon. Thanks Sarah for everything xx

Beth looked after our Merlin overnight and did a wonderful job. She briefly visited to get to know him beforehand, and Merlin felt relaxed around her as if he had known her for years from the moment she walked in the door, she just oozed positivity. We were very happy with Beth's work. she kindly updated us about how our dog was getting on, which also put my mind at ease. We can highly recommend Beth to other dog owners who value their dog being looked after professionally and with a lot of love!

About: Every pet has a personality as unique as their paw print, and I know that first-hand. Hi, I’m Lou, an experienced dog walker and pet sitter who truly gets small breeds. I share my home with four beloved sighthounds: two whippets and two Italian greyhounds, so I’ve learned just how special, quirky, and wonderfully unique toy breeds and sighthounds are. Their tender hearts, playful spirits, and diva attitudes deserve care that’s patient, respectful, and joyful. Over the years I’ve also cared for other toy breeds, as well as growing up on a farm working and showing terriers and collies. I used to have cats of my own, and I often look after my friends’ pets too — so I’m comfortable with both tails and whiskers! What I bring to the table: 🐶 Personalized walks that honour breed needs — especially for toy breeds and sighthounds 🐱 Calm, affectionate care for cats — whether it’s playtime, cuddles, or litter routines 💖 A gentle, intuitive approach to nervous or quirky pets who prefer slow hellos 📸 Regular photo updates so you can see your pet smiling while you’re away 🛋️ A safe, relaxed human for stays or drop-in visits I know how hard it can be to trust someone with the ones you love. That’s why I focus on building a calm, fun, and dependable relationship with every animal in my care — so you’ll both feel happy and confident. Let’s give your pet care that feels like family 💕🐾 I work from home mon-fri so can take my lunch breaks when needed to walk or visit your fur babies. My partner also helps me when he’s not at work ☺️ In my home my dogs are always roaming the house we don’t have an enclosed garden so they only get out on the lead however in your home I’m happy to follow instructions weather it be to crate your pet, give them some love, play with, feed and water, take outside etc ☺️

About: I have been looking after dogs for my friends for several years now and I absolutely love spending time with them. I have experience looking after a rescue dog and I’m proud of the trust and lovely rapport I’ve built with her over the years. I’m one of a handful of people her owner will trust to let her off lead which is a huge honour! Dogs in my house are treated as welcome guests and yes, they are allowed on the sofa to cuddle up with me! Huge sucker for the puppy dog eyes! I’m currently at home full time so your pet will be with me constantly and will have my full attention and lots of cuddles! Pet care is available during the day or overnight as required. I live in a large two bedroom flat in the very dog friendly area of Stockbridge where dogs are almost more welcome than people! I have a shared, fenced-in garden where they can run around but I’m also just around the corner from Inverleith Park where many owners take their dogs if your pet likes to play with others. I’m also very fitness oriented so happy to make sure your pet gets plenty of exercise and a nice long walk if required.

About: I was raised in a house full of different animals and for the last 20 years I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, gecko & horse. I have experience in looking after small to extra large dogs. I was a fosterer with Thistle Boxer Rescue for 3 years and became a trustee (lead rehomer) matching rescues with their forever family. This was the most rewarding experience ever! I have experience in challenging behaviours and believe in reward based training. My only ask is that any behavioural issues are disclosed before pick up/drop off such as wanting to eat my cat (1 eyed feline who thinks she runs the house) this decreases any risks and helps me to understand the dog better and provide better care. I also like to borrow my friends and family’s dogs just because I like the furry hugs. I like to make sure that all dogs feel loved. I have a variety of walking areas local to me and will work around the needs of the dogs. I am currently not working so will be able to fully focus on any dog that is in my care. Going for walks, playing with toys and snuggling on the couch if that’s what they want. I look after all animals in my care as my own, with love and with lots of fun. I treat others home and property with care and respect.

I can’t recommend Katie highly enough, she is superb. She looked after our two Cavalier King Charles spaniels for a week in our home and not only did she take amazing care of them, but also our home. She sent frequent updates and it was easy to relax while we were away as it was clear from the photos and videos, that both of our pups were very happy and relaxed with her. It is clear from the first time we met, Katie has a genuine love of animals and our two instantly took to her. We would not hesitate to book with Katie again😊

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Kinross walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kinross choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
