“Jody was perfect for looking after our cat. She stayed the full time (sometimes longer which was great!!) to give her lots of play and cuddles and sent us lots of pics. She left the house clean and did exactly what we asked. 100% recommend Jody and we will be booking her again”

About: I have always been an animal lover! I have just finished my HND animal care qualification and passed. I currently work in a boarding kennels and I am also volunteering a a local rescue shelter. I love spending time with these dogs, and walk them once a week. I’ve had dogs in my home since I was 4, and grew up learning how to care for them. I hope to use my qualification to be able to work with animals full time in the future. I’ve just finished my HND animal care qualification. I’m currently working part-time at a boarding kennels facility. On my days off I love to look after dogs! I have a fenced large garden with plenty space for running around. My own dog loves to play so if yours does too, they’re able to have fun together. Pets are part of the family, and are treated so accordingly in my house.
“Louise has been absolutely amazing with my nervous pup. She's gone above and beyond to make sure he feels comfortable and confident around her, and he's so excited to see her every time! Cannot recommend her enough, she's a superstar.”

About: Hello! My name is Kathryn and I live in Dunfermline with my husband, senior cat and dog. I grew up always having animals in the home whether that was dogs or cats or fish! From an early age I started walking neighbours dogs with my own and watching them on weekends. As I got older I began doing long house sits for family friends and neighbours pets. 5 years ago we rescued our senior cat Louie. He has been such a joy to have in the home and being able to give him a cozy new life has been so rewarding. Due to him being FIV positive he is susceptible to illness so I have experience delivering medications and providing extra care. Last May we brought home our Boxer Fionn. He is a crazy boy who keeps us active and it has been such a joy to train him and watch him grow. I work from home a couple a days a week and am very flexible on evenings and weekends. I would be able to help out as much as I could. If your dog is needing some walking or some company I would love to help and if okay could bring my dog along for a run around. I would love for him to meet some other dogs and get used to walking with dogs around (if you’re comfortable with it). If it’s cats you’re needing looked after I would be more than happy to spend quality time with them, playing with toys, cuddling on the sofa or reading my book with them! I have a fenced in back garden that the dogs can play in. If watching in your home I would be sure to keep an eye on them and follow all instructions provided. I would make sure they are safe, fed, happy and well looked after.
About: I am animal obsessed and have had dogs (and cats) my whole life, at one point we had more dogs than people in our house growing up, so I have gained a wealth of experience! I grew up on a farm in the outskirts of Glasgow and have a deep appreciation for animals and know that they are a part of the family. You can be rest assured I will look after your pets like they are my own! I currently have 1 male, very playful and friendly (unneutered) Irish red setter and two ragdoll cats (it will be easy enough for me to separate the cats and even dogs into another part of the house if necessary). I currently work from home every day except Wednesdays, so your dog will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. They won’t be left alone for long periods, and I also have ample space in my home where they can enjoy some quiet time if they prefer to relax on their own. I live right next to the golf course and beautiful Loch Leven, which means your dog will benefit from scenic and enriching walks in a peaceful, natural setting for our lunchtime strolls. Whether you’re looking for daytime care or overnight stays, I’m happy to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for your pup. I have a secure, enclosed garden that’s perfect for regular toilet breaks and safe outdoor time. I’m able to take dogs on a good hour-long walk either before I start work or during my lunch break, giving them plenty of exercise and stimulation. Your dog will be guaranteed lots of love and attention—whether that’s cuddles (if they’re into that), playtime with my friendly pup, or space to roam and relax. As a huge animal lover, nothing makes me happier than seeing pets content and well cared for. You can trust that your dog will receive the highest level of care in a warm, welcoming environment.
“Claire was great. She sent me photos and videos of my cats. They were well cared for, fed, watered, entertained and litter tray sorted. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or use her services again.”
“Very friendly couple who clearly love dogs. Reliable and excellent communicators. Helping us out whilst our current dog walker is unwell. Would definitely recommend and use again!”

“Tess looked after Freddie on two of my office days this week and was fantastic. Communication was excellent, she was always on time, and I received lovely photo updates throughout. Freddie clearly had a great time! I’d happily recommend Tess to friends and would absolutely rely on her again whenever Freddie needs care 😊”

About: Having grown up surrounded by dogs and being lucky enough to travel and volunteer with animals in both Kenya and Australia, I've always adored animals of all shapes and sizes and am not phased by everything that can come with loving and looking after animals. I was also incredibly lucky to spend some time last year with a special family in Aberdeenshire helping look after 14 rescue horses and 7 dogs where I enjoyed learning how to read animals' body language and behaviour. I'm currently taking a career break, having previously managed a mental health charity, so have plenty of time for long beach walks, hikes in the hills, exploring local parks and cuddles at home. I love looking after animals like they're my own and have lots of friends in Edinburgh with lovely dogs so your dog/s in particular would have lots of pups to meet for walks if they wanted some new friends and different stimulation. I'd be delighted to dog / cat sit in your home as well as my own in the centre of Edinburgh. I've previously rented out my home so I really understand the value of having someone in your home who will take care of it and keep it safe. I'd be really happy to provide other references having not been with Rover long and having been off the app for a year whilst I was unavailable. I've been helping walk two gorgeous labs for the past 7 years and on asking their Dad for a reference he kindly sent back - “responsible, kind, observant, reliable, fun and loyal.” Feel free to drop me a message anytime with any questions -

Over the years I've had many pets who were all very much loved and well cared for but sadly some are no longer here. ( isn't that the worse thing about having pets ). We currently have ; two young cat Pepper & Everest; A Guinea pig Kovu ; Two giant african land snails Bowie and Bella and about 30 odd Ramshorn water snails. So as you'll see I'm used to a wide range of animals not just Cats and Dogs. Monday & Wednesday 3.30pm onwards - Dog walks and pet visits can be provided Tuesday - Doggy day care. Dog walks and pet visits can be provided Thursday from 3.30pm , a Friday & a Saturday - Overnight boarding.Doggy day care , dog walks and pet visits can be provided. Sunday - Doggy day care , dog walks and pet visits can be provided. ..Due to working on a Monday any over night boarding dog/s still here on the Sunday will need to be collect by the evening. Each pet sitting job or dog walking will be choosen by and tailored to the individual needs of the client and their pet/s. It's not a one size fits all and I think tailoring these wants and needs of the individual makes things not only professional but adds a more personal touch as well. Thank you for looking. Please feel free to ask any queries you may have.
About: Hi there! I am grad of New York University (BFA) and Drama Centre London (MA), living in London on the Global Talent Visa. I grew up with many pets in my life. I had never owned less than three dogs until I left my home in Orange County for the big apple where I studied at NYU. I have a huge space in my heart for animals and would love to spend some time caring for your dog(s) or cat(s). I have a great deal of experience dog walking, sitting, and boarding both inside and outside of Rover. In moving across the pond, I had to say a sad 'see ya later' to my favorite little cutie pies back home -- Dallas a sweet, sweet chocolate lab, and Abby and Bella, the cutest little cockapoos that ever were. The good news about my doggy withdrawal is that your pets will get more than enough attention, walks/runs, play time, and cuddle time. I am very attentive and sensitive to the needs of animals -- I nearly became a veterinarian before I decided to follow my passion in the arts. I am writing a feature film which means I will be home with the doggos a lot of the time, working on that project and a few other jobs I do remotely. I run a theatre production company and am in pre-production as well for a few films. I am very responsible and will take such good care of your furry friends! Look forward to meeting you and them :) I am an actor, so in between jobs I have quite a flexible schedule. Currently working on writing a screenplay and other remote projects which means I will have plenty of time for your pets! I will always make sure your dog or cat is as safe as can possibly be and will confirm details with you when staying in your home or boarding at mine about what they are used to, and what will make them feel cozy and safe etc.
“Claire done some pop in visits to my home to take care of my puppy while I was away. She and her husband were amazing, and took really good care of my dog. They are very responsible and always look for the best way to take care of him. Couldn’t recommend enough.”
“Thanks Amaris! This was my first time using Rover and Amaris was great! Wallace seemed totally unbothered that I had left him! Amaris was great at communicating with me and I knew she would look after my puppy! Thank you!”

About: I’ve been looking after dogs my whole life, I’ve grown up with numerous different dogs big and small. I’ve always been involved in all aspects of their care including walking them, bathing them and dealing with the vets. As my gran got older and struggled I took over the care of her 3 dogs and gave them their daily medications, took them to the vets every month, walked them daily, took them to the groomers and ensured they had the best life. I have also been a pet sitter before for my neighbours and stayed with her dogs for a few days. I am currently a 3rd year student midwife so I am available during the week when I am not in university and at the weekends. When I am on placement my availability will be slightly different but I can work around things. I live in a lovely quiet rural area perfect for walks. I am available to stay in homes if required but would not bring dogs home due to my cat.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
