About: I am Giulia, I live with my partner and our corgi Mortimer in a flat in the heart of Edinburgh. We are close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk. Mortimer is very friendly and always happy to spend time with new dog friends :) I have always had huge love for animals and especially dogs. Since I was younger I volunteered at my local shelter back in Italy, taking care of dogs and walk them. This experience has been very important to me, I had the chance to learn how to approach many dogs with different personalities, and also with no-longer-puppies with trust issues. It has been years since we started dog boarding and walking and it has been a great experience. We will do our best to provide a loving home for your furry best friends while you are away! We want to keep your dog's routine as much stable as we can, providing as much cuddles, exercise and play as he/she needs! :) I can't wait to know your furry fellas! I work full time but I have a flexible schedule and can work remotely if needed. I usually give my dog a long walk/play in the morning and after work, and a shorter one at lunch and before going to bed. My flat is close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk.
“I cannot highly recommend Feng enough. Feng is very friendly and attentive to details. He carried out our instructions to the letter including the last minute medication for one of our cats. Would love to have him again in the future!”

“Daria was incredible looking after our cat Kyra, she not only looked after her and made sure we were updated every day but she also kept our flat immaculate. We will definitely book her again.”

“Thanks Bronagh and Kathryn for taking great care of our cat last week. She clearly enjoyed her time with you as i could tell from the pictures. Thanks for the good communication too.”

About: I provide a warm, safe, and fun environment for all dogs. Dogs can enjoy plenty of walks. Whether playful or laid back, I tailor my care to suit each pet’s needs, ensuring they feel comfortable and loved. My schedule is flexible for pet care! I work full time but spend three days a week working from home, allowing me to provide care, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Weekends are fully available, making it easy to accommodate overnight stays and walks! I provide a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for both dogs and cats in my home. For dogs, they can enjoy nearby park for regular walks and exercise. Inside, they’ll have plenty of space to relax and feel at home.
“Aimee looked after our cat Noah over Christmas very well. She responded quickly to communication and was really helpful. Would recommend her and will look to book her again sometime”

About: We’ve always had family dogs, and I also had my own dog for a couple of years. I have experience with foster dogs, and my friends often rely on me to take care of their pups when they travel to warmer places. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, giving them cuddles, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m currently working from home, so I can keep your dog company all day long and make sure they’re never alone if needed. I have plenty of time for hugs, games, and walks! I’m really flexible, and I believe a tired pup is a happy pup, so I love long adventures and play sessions! My partner and I live in a one-bedroom flat on Leith Walk, with plenty of parks nearby! We’ll both make sure your dog gets extra love while you’re away. I strictly follow owners’ rules when it comes to schedule and food, no treats unless you say so!
About: I have always been around animals and have so much experience dealing with them. I understand the needs and can read their cues very well I work from home so would like to fill that time up looking after some furry friends. I enjoy the outdoors and love long walks I have a fenced garden and live close to a giant park which is perfect for adventure for dogs. I also have 2 cats and have been looking after dogs for most of my life so I understand how to keep them safe

“Nicollette was a fantastic cat sitter and I hope she is free to take care of Archie the next time we are away. She was a great communicator - even whilst I was somewhere with no mobile service! She sent amazing updates and photos of a very relaxed and happy cat. Archie can be funny about eating whilst I’m away but she did a great job at keeping his comfortable and happy. We came home to a content cat and couldn’t ask for more. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her!”

“Meredith cared really well for Talula after I’d had to cancel a previous sit last minute due to illness. I felt very confident leaving Talula to be cared for after we’d met, and came home to a sleepy but happy dog!”

About: I’ve completed over 30 through a different platform so far, with some lovely repeat hosts who’ve already booked me in again. I have experience looking after both dogs and cats, including rescues, shy pets, and those with medical needs. One of my regular sits involves giving medication, and I’ve previously cared for a cat with FIV as well as a dog with joint and lung issues. I’ve also house- and petsat for friends and family over the years—everything from a month-long stay in Aberdeen to shorter sits in Edinburgh and Germany. I work from home, so your pets will have plenty of company, and I always make sure to keep things clean and calm so they feel relaxed in their routine. Hi, I’m a old digital nomad with a deep love for travelling, animals, and new experiences. I don’t smoke, don’t drink, and I’m vegetarian. I grew up in Germany with a mix of pets—budgies, a Shih Tzu, and a cat—and my family’s Italian roots mean I’ve enjoyed a blend of cultures from an early age. At 18, I took a leap and spent a year in South Africa, my first trip outside Europe, to broaden my horizons. After that, I moved to Scotland for university, where I embraced every opportunity to explore, studying abroad in Canada and Switzerland, and attending summer schools in Denmark and the United States. Since completing my master’s degree, I’ve been working remotely as a sales executive. I’ve been lucky enough to work from amazing places like Finland, Malta, Romania, Estonia, Morocco, Cyprus, Spain, Italy etc. So far, I’ve visited 43 countries and can’t wait to explore more corners of the world while making new friends, especially the furry kind :) When I’m not working or exploring, you’ll likely find me with a book in hand. I love reading and finished 114 books in 2023! I’d be honoured to care for your pets and home while you’re away, bringing my love of animals and sense of adventure to every sit. Past hosts have described me as respectful, kind, and caring—some cats have even made me their “favourite person”! I take pride in looking after people’s homes and pets as if they were my own, and I always leave things just as I found them (if not tidier!).

“Liv and JJ are the absolute best! We felt very safe and comfortable leaving Ferdinand in their care. They had great communication and were quick to respond when we had questions. Couldn’t recommend them more, will absolutely be booking with them again when we go away next!”

I have experience looking after a wide range of dogs and their needs. I have a very free and flexible schedule and I am willing to put a lot of time and effort into looking after your beloved pet. I have lots of flat space for your pet to play around and rest. I have no other distracting animals and no other people my full attention will be on your dog.
“Sophia was fantastic! Ziggy immediately felt relaxed when meeting her. She Stroked him while speaking to me. When she returned to collect Ziggy he was happy to see her and walked off with no problem. Was lovely chatting with the Sophia and I hope she can care for Ziggy again in the future.”

“Pat was amazing with Willow! Not only did he take care of everything perfectly, but he also came by twice on Christmas Day! Willow was very spoiled with lots of play and cuddles, and Pat kept us updated with plenty of pictures and videos. Honestly, I think Willow was disappointed to see us come home! 100% recommend Pat and would definitely rebook ”

About: I have cared for dogs previously including dog sitting while owners go on holiday. I can deal with all things from cuddles to picking up the goods! I am a chartered accountant who works in a home based role therefore I can be flexible to suit your dogs needs throughout the day I will care for your animal as if it were my own. I pride myself on being a very organised and trustworthy person demonstrated by owners leaving their pets with me during their holidays.
“This was Sarah’s second time looking after our cat, Kyra. She did an amazing job, we were always informed and she sent us loads of pictures. We will definitely ask her to look after Kyra again!”

About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for ages. I’ve also worked at an animal rights charity since 2015 because animals have a huge place in my heart and I care deeply for their well-being. If I see a dog at a restaurant or venue who doesn’t have a water dish, I’ll always get them one. I have so much empathy for animals it hurts. With me, your dog will get long walks, lots of attention, and be well cared for and engaged. I take them with me everywhere they can come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, they get as many cuddles as they want - I always read their cues and follow their lead. I make sure they always have a full water dish, are fed on time, and I can give them medicine, if needed. If dogs like being pet, scratched, or massaged, that's what they get from me until my hands fall off. My flat has a nice size shared garden in the back that gets lots of sunlight, and it’s fenced in. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so it’s flexible. I take them out 5 times a day starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm. I have them settled for sleep by 10:30. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30 and am away for about 90 mins total, unless otherwise specified. I leave the music on for them, softly. Other than that I’m with the dog the whole time. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.

Jenny looked after our wee stella while we went on holiday for a week. We've never left her before and felt a bit nervous, but once jenny came for a wee visit, she was super friendly and stella took to her straight away so we felt at ease. Jenny didn't just come in and feed stella, she spent some time with her and sent us pic & video updates daily. Stella looked very happy and was giving jenny all her love ❤️ we would definitely recommend Jenny and will be asking her to look after stella for our future trips.

We were so lucky to have Amie look after Mozart. Amie sent regular updates with lots of photos and videos which helped me feel connected to Mozart while I was away. She played with him, kept the place clean and even aired out the apartment during the heatwave. It was such a relief knowing that she was looking after both Mozart and the flat. I highly recommend her and I'll definitely book Amie again!

Sarah took excellent care of my shy cat while I was away. She was attentative and provided photo updates which were always such a reassurance to me. My cat seemed very happy in her company, would definitely reccommend her for anyone looking for a responsible pet sitter.

Sarah was absolutely fantastic and took such genuine care of my two cats. She really went above and beyond, spending time playing with them, trying different treats, and sending lots of photos and videos, which completely put my mind at ease while I was away. It's clear how much she cares about the animals she looks after, and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again.

Connie was wonderful with my two cats while I was away on holiday. She sent regular updates, which I really appreciated as I was missing them a lot! She looked after them really well and my cats really seemed to enjoy her visits. Highly recommend her service.

Fran is a very thoughtful and considerate sitter. She took great care of our cats and graciously accommodated their particular feeding requirements. She sent daily updates and photos that showed how well the cats were getting on which we really appreciated. Will deffos rebook in the future. 🤘🤠🤘

Pat was an amazing catsitter for us! Our Nina warmed to him almost immediately and he kept us updated with lots of photos and videos while we were away. Will definitely request him for next time and can absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a thoughtful and friendly pet sitter!

Josie was great and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, She helped us out last minute and took great care of our 2 cats whilst we were away, even making sure the flat was cool for the cats in the heatwave She kept us updated and sent some gorgeous photos, and it was clear from the photos the cats were big fans!

The average cost for Cat Sitting in Edinburgh on Rover is £12.65 per Visit (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of Cat Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Cat Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
Many sitters respond to requests in under an hour. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter trays. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialisation or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
