“Couldn't recommend Maymay enough! The updates were amazing - always really prompt, with loads of detail and lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I honestly never once felt stressed or worried about my wee one because I knew she was in such safe hands. It meant I could actually relax and enjoy my holiday without constantly wondering how she was getting on! The biggest compliment is that my cat absolutely loved her. She's usually quite wary of people she's only met a couple of times, but she was so affectionate with her and clearly felt really comfortable, which says it all. I'll definitely be booking again in the future. Five stars from me! :)”

About: I’ve raised and taken care of foster dogs since I was a teen. I’ve recently moved to Edinburgh and I am keen to care for other people’s pups and explore the city on walks I work from home and able to be flexible with walk times and day care. I love to walk around Edinburgh and have access to a private garden to let the pups run around I’m gentle, calm and love to care for dogs. I believe calmness and making pups feel safe, is the key to ensuring good behaviour

“Daria is brilliant - we came home to a happy and relaxed cat. She is communicative, caring, and kept everything clean and tidy. We knew that Akila was in a safe pair of hands while we were away, and we’d be very happy to book Daria for future visits ☺️”

About: I have cared for dogs previously including dog sitting while owners go on holiday. I can deal with all things from cuddles to picking up the goods! I am a chartered accountant who works in a home based role therefore I can be flexible to suit your dogs needs throughout the day I will care for your animal as if it were my own. I pride myself on being a very organised and trustworthy person demonstrated by owners leaving their pets with me during their holidays.
“Daria was fantastic with Lester. He took to her immediately, no doubt due to her warm, gentle and kind personality. We are delighted to have found Daria and would not hesitate to have her look after our dog again”

About: I am Giulia, I live with my partner and our corgi Mortimer in a flat in the heart of Edinburgh. We are close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk. Mortimer is very friendly and always happy to spend time with new dog friends :) I have always had huge love for animals and especially dogs. Since I was younger I volunteered at my local shelter back in Italy, taking care of dogs and walk them. This experience has been very important to me, I had the chance to learn how to approach many dogs with different personalities, and also with no-longer-puppies with trust issues. It has been years since we started dog boarding and walking and it has been a great experience. We will do our best to provide a loving home for your furry best friends while you are away! We want to keep your dog's routine as much stable as we can, providing as much cuddles, exercise and play as he/she needs! :) I can't wait to know your furry fellas! I work full time but I have a flexible schedule and can work remotely if needed. I usually give my dog a long walk/play in the morning and after work, and a shorter one at lunch and before going to bed. My flat is close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk.
“Aimee is extremely patient with pixie. She understand that with pixie having high anxiety and being hyper vigilant she is an extremely nervous and scared dog. Aimee respects Pixies boundaries and doesn’t impose on her to help alleviate pixies sacredness. Would definitely recommend Aimee’s services”

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family dogs and cats previously and have helped raise and train my flat mates puppy. I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays so can be flexible (including weekends). I have a small ground floor flat but able to provide toilet breaks as much as needed and walks before and after work and at lunch time if needed! I currently work full time - Tuesdays and Fridays from home. 9-5 Monday to Friday and will be available on some weekends too! When I work from home i am able to provide toilet breaks whenever needed and time outside/ walks before and after work and also on my lunch hour! Can be flexible - I sometimes dog sit for friends when they are in the office. I have a secure ground floor flat next to a safe walk way. I am also next to a lot of green space and there are many routes away from main roads.
“Great sitter!! We did a meet & greet first and Leanne was great, came and met the dogs. She carried out the visit and sat with the dogs as requested. Will defiantly be using her again if we need a dog sitter. Thank you Leanne.”
About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for ages. I’ve also worked at an animal rights charity since 2015 because animals have a huge place in my heart and I care deeply for their well-being. If I see a dog at a restaurant or venue who doesn’t have a water dish, I’ll always get them one. I have so much empathy for animals it hurts. With me, your dog will get long walks, lots of attention, and be well cared for and engaged. I take them with me everywhere they can come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, they get as many cuddles as they want - I always read their cues and follow their lead. I make sure they always have a full water dish, are fed on time, and I can give them medicine, if needed. If dogs like being pet, scratched, or massaged, that's what they get from me until my hands fall off. My flat has a nice size shared garden in the back that gets lots of sunlight, and it’s fenced in. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so it’s flexible. I take them out 5 times a day starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm. I have them settled for sleep by 10:30. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30 and am away for about 90 mins total, unless otherwise specified. I leave the music on for them, softly. Other than that I’m with the dog the whole time. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.
“Charlotte was great with Olive! Olive went on really long walks which was super helpful as she is a very high energy puppy, Charlotte was on time, communicated well and very willing to accomodate olive and her needs :)”

“Matthew drops in to see my two excitable Staffies every week. He is very good at dealing with their exuberant natures, and follows our instructions to the letter. He leaves very happy dogs on his way out.”

“Annie has been absolutely fantastic with our dog Jazz. Jazz is quite shy and anxious about new people, but Annie has been so patient and gentle with her, she’s really taken the time to build up trust with Jazz. Annie is always very responsive, and gives detailed updates about her visits. We’ll definitely trust Annie to look after Jazz again.”

About: We’ve always had family dogs, and I also had my own dog for a couple of years. I have experience with foster dogs, and my friends often rely on me to take care of their pups when they travel to warmer places. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, giving them cuddles, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m currently working from home, so I can keep your dog company all day long and make sure they’re never alone if needed. I have plenty of time for hugs, games, and walks! I’m really flexible, and I believe a tired pup is a happy pup, so I love long adventures and play sessions! My partner and I live in a one-bedroom flat on Leith Walk, with plenty of parks nearby! We’ll both make sure your dog gets extra love while you’re away. I strictly follow owners’ rules when it comes to schedule and food, no treats unless you say so!
“Rebecca has been looking out again for our cat Joy for around 8 days during our recent summer trip, and can't thank her enough for her help, she is absolutely amazing! She gave the best updates and pictures within Rover cards, has played a lot with Joy and followed any instructions I left with good care. Appreciated a lot all her attention to detail, pointing out if there were any issues or questions. Can't recommend her enough!”

“Nancy is a great catsitter and went above and beyond to take care of our little cat Coffeebean during the holidays. Our kitten felt sick the day after we left (on Christmas eve!), Nancy took her to the vet and looked after her with lots of care and affection. She looked after Coffeebean at her place to make sure she recovered (we initially agreed on house visits), making us feel very much reassured that everything was being taken care of. It’s no surprise Coffeebean warmed up to her in no time. We wholeheartedly recommend Nancy!”

Grace is the best pet sitter I’ve ever had! She’s very caring and attentive, giving Fifi her medication and making sure she has fresh food and water along with lots of snuggles. I will definitely be at ease when travelling knowing Fifi is in safe hands. Thanks Grace!

Kevin was great! Came by prior to check ins to get a run through of the care needed. Text me pictures with each visit and let me know if there was anything out of the ordinary. He also must be a car whisperer cause he managed to pet my most elusive cat, who normally will hide for weeks from a new person!

Trevor is absolutely brilliant. He took such good care of my cat, Pinia - he spent lots of time with her, played with her, fed her, did her litter, took loads of photos (which was so lovely to see as I miss my cat so much when I go away!) Super good communication. Will 100% book again next time. My cat is so relaxed and not stressed at all when I come home. Couldn't be happier!

Jane responded quickly to my request and it was really easy to organise an intro and key handover when I was going away at fairly short notice. And when I came home I had a happy cat. It makes such a difference having someone reliable and friendly to cat sit.
We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter. We received lots of photos showing our cat playing, eating, and enjoying plenty of fuss and attention after every visit. It was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for he was while we were away. The updates gave us complete peace of mind, and it was clear that our cat was treated with genuine care and affection. We would absolutely book Regiane again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring pet sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
