“I would highly recommend Eirini. She's both very reliable and an absolute dog lover. Eirini tooka very last minutes request and has been greatly helpful for me and my husband. She gave me upsates on how things were going. Again, wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eirini. I'll definitely contact her again.”

About: I have just moved to Edinburgh after doing the Pacific Crest Trail last year - a 2650 mile hike. I am taking some time to settle in here and look for jobs and have been enjoying walking dogs and meeting their owners in the meantime! I grew up on a sheep farm in New Zealand with 10 sheep dogs, I'm very comfortable and happy around them. I'm happy to look after all sorts of dogs - I can keep up with more active dogs or just chill with a cosy pup. I have just moved to Edinburgh and currently am job hunting, so can be very flexible with whatever works for you! I'm likely to be working from home once I get a job - but will need to play that by ear a bit in the meantime. I'm happy to have pets at my flat but wouldn't be my core offering - it's a studio, spacious and light with a nearby park. If I'm in your home I will be respectful and careful with your space!
“Feng was amazing with my chihuahuas. He would make sure they had food and water and a walk. He would always go out of his way to make sure they are ok. Feng is always my first choice ❤️ He is true animal lover ⭐️”

“I was initially skeptical about leaving Buster with someone I didn’t know, given his hyper personality. However, after returning from my trip, I found a much calmer dog. Bilquees did an outstanding job not only walking him but also caring for him. Her understanding of hyperactive and reactive dogs is impressive, and her nurturing nature was class!”

“I always feel my dog is in great hands with Rebecca! I'm requested walks from Rebecca multiple times and each time she leaves very detailed notes and takes lots of great pictures. Will definitely continue to keep working with her!”

“It was my and my dog's first time with any dog walker/sitter. I was actually quite worried because my dog tends to be very protective. Min made sure my dog believe on her before starting walk, also she relaxed me. I could be able to enjoy my trip because Min kept me updated on how my dog's doing, with photos and videos. I will definitely be again with Min.”

“Eirini is amazing. She is clearly an animal person and connected with our dog immediately during the meet and greet. Great communication during walks. I know our dog is in good hands with her. Highly recommended.”

About: My family have had dogs my entire life, all of which have been such special characters! My last dog was particularly special, having had her for 15+ years. Miss having the opportunity to look after her whenever I wish! I'd regularly look after her when my parents went away. Often I'd keep her for months at my flat as we both loved each others company. I'm very active and love going for walks so if you're dog is particularly energetic, we'll just have to go for a long walk, won't we! I'm currently a student so I'm available from Friday (12:30/13:00) right through the weekend to look after your dog(s). My partner (who I live with) loves dogs too and works from home during the week in case you need a little more flexibility around pick-up/drop-off timings; he's always happy to help out! Our flat does not have a garden and is two floors up. It's a spacious flat however and I'd take them out for walks regularly, depending on their needs. If your dog struggles with stairs and is not too large, I can pick them up as I used to do with my old dog who was a collie spaniel cross.
“Joanie was great with Fergus, he quickly warmed to her and it’s clear that she has plenty of experience with dogs. Also very good at communicating with us. I’d highly recommend.”

“Daniela was incredible! She was so flexible and she honestly just had a really good vibe! I was so nervous to give my dog to a stranger (first time puppy mum lol) but once I met her in person I wasn’t worried at all! Sunny had a great time and we would definitely book her again😊😊”

“Hamish took Goose for a great walk, he was communicative and easy to work with. He obviously knows and loves dogs and I totally trust him to take care of Goose and entertain him on his walk.”

“Lisa has been walking my dog twice a week for a few weeks now and she's been great. She takes the time to make sure my dog feels comfortable and safe with her, and always provides insightful and reassuring updates. No complaints!”

“Grace started walking my 1 year old working cocker spaniel at short notice. She has been communicative, professional and engaging, providing walk updates and photos. I now have her booked on a recurring basis.”

About: I have always loved animals. My experience with them includes having pets throughout my life, working as a teenager at a dog day care center, and working at an animal sanctuary in Texas with unusual pets, as well as 5+ years on Rover. In Edinburgh, I only work part time (with dogs!), so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet. My partner and I will be sure to give your animal all the attention they need — we both love the excuse to dote on a pet! Depending on our new friend's energy levels, both work part time so we will certainly take them out for as many long walks as they need, and will be able to follow their schedule. With or without a furry friend in our home, we both take long walks every day, so fitting a companion into our schedules is easy! I will always see & ask what a specific dog's needs are before working with them. I love fetch, tug of war, and wrestling with dogs who want to do so, but I am also happy to cuddle up on the couch next to a sleepy low energy dog. I've specifically worked for long periods of time with getting anxious dogs to open up to new people, so I know when to give a pet their space.
“Cameron has been great and very responsive. He came to meet our dog the day before the walk as me and partner were away on that day. I got really nice pictures of the walk and updates. I can tell Cameron is a caring person and it makes me very happy :)”

About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for ages. I’ve also worked at an animal rights charity since 2015 because animals have a huge place in my heart and I care deeply for their well-being. If I see a dog at a restaurant or venue who doesn’t have a water dish, I’ll always get them one. I have so much empathy for animals it hurts. With me, your dog will get long walks, lots of attention, and be well cared for and engaged. I take them with me everywhere they can come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, they get as many cuddles as they want - I always read their cues and follow their lead. I make sure they always have a full water dish, are fed on time, and I can give them medicine, if needed. If dogs like being pet, scratched, or massaged, that's what they get from me until my hands fall off. My flat has a nice size shared garden in the back that gets lots of sunlight, and it’s fenced in. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so it’s flexible. I take them out 5 times a day starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm. I have them settled for sleep by 10:30. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30 and am away for about 90 mins total, unless otherwise specified. I leave the music on for them, softly. Other than that I’m with the dog the whole time. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.
Edinburgh dog owners share their Rover experiences
Matthew was amazing with my young boisterous American Akita and took care of him as if he was his own dog from moment they met. Extremely reliable and dependable, fit and strong and can handle any size and strength of dog. Friendly with a can-do attitude. Highly recommend.

I was initially skeptical about leaving Buster with someone I didn’t know, given his hyper personality. However, after returning from my trip, I found a much calmer dog. Bilquees did an outstanding job not only walking him but also caring for him. Her understanding of hyperactive and reactive dogs is impressive, and her nurturing nature was class!

Honor and her partner were absolutely lovely from start to finish. They both took the time to meet with me and Saoirse beforehand, which really put me at ease and helped Saoirse feel comfortable too. They were so friendly, reliable, and clearly great with dogs. I could tell Saoirse was in really good hands, and she came back happy and well cared for. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and genuine people, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Leah has been absolutely amazing with Benji. From the very beginning, she’s been patient, reliable, and clearly genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. Benji can definitely be a handful—especially going through his teenage phase—but she’s handled him so well and has been incredibly understanding and consistent with him. It honestly says everything that he gets so excited every time he sees her. You can tell he really trusts her and enjoys their time together, which gives me so much peace of mind. Leah is also fantastic with communication—always keeping me updated and sending lovely photos, which I really appreciate. And Benji is always thrilled with the little treats she brings along! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Leah to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and experienced dog walker. She’s been such a positive part of Benji’s routine 🐾
