“Highly recommended cat sitter! MayMay looked in on my two cats while I was away for a long weekend. She took detailed notes about what was needed and sent photo and video updates when she was there and a full breakdown of the visit afterwards. Great to know my cats were in good hands while I was away. Thank you!”

About: I am an experienced dog sitter who has looked after animals of all size and ages, including reactive dogs and senior dogs with medical needs. I work from home so am available for day and/or overnight sits throughout the week as well as walks and drop-ins. When staying with me, I take dogs out first thing in the morning and last thing at night plus however many walks they need during the day depending on their age and activity level. We have an unfenced garden that is perfect for on-lead pee stops and sniffs! No pets of our own in the flat. Dogs are very much welcome to make our home their own and are allowed on the furniture and to sleep on the bed if that’s what they’re used to. I have done a number of sits in the owners hone before and always leave the house exactly as I find it.

About: I am Giulia, I live with my partner and our corgi Mortimer in a flat in the heart of Edinburgh. We are close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk. Mortimer is very friendly and always happy to spend time with new dog friends :) I have always had huge love for animals and especially dogs. Since I was younger I volunteered at my local shelter back in Italy, taking care of dogs and walk them. This experience has been very important to me, I had the chance to learn how to approach many dogs with different personalities, and also with no-longer-puppies with trust issues. It has been years since we started dog boarding and walking and it has been a great experience. We will do our best to provide a loving home for your furry best friends while you are away! We want to keep your dog's routine as much stable as we can, providing as much cuddles, exercise and play as he/she needs! :) I can't wait to know your furry fellas! I work full time but I have a flexible schedule and can work remotely if needed. I usually give my dog a long walk/play in the morning and after work, and a shorter one at lunch and before going to bed. My flat is close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk.
About: I’ve raised and taken care of foster dogs since I was a teen. I’ve recently moved to Edinburgh and I am keen to care for other people’s pups and explore the city on walks I work from home and able to be flexible with walk times and day care. I love to walk around Edinburgh and have access to a private garden to let the pups run around I’m gentle, calm and love to care for dogs. I believe calmness and making pups feel safe, is the key to ensuring good behaviour

About: I’ve grown up with pets my whole live, but have specifically been working in veterinary since 2018. I graduated with a degree in veterinary nursing in 2022 and have only now decided to leave the industry in 2026 for a break. However, I would love to keep your furry companions in my life still, so hoping to pet sit. I have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, and rodents. I have taken a break from my job as a veterinary nurse, so other than some events and plans i tend to have throughout the year, I am free most days. I am not able to accommodate pets on my own home due to having roommates and my home isn’t pet proof, however I would follow any rules given to me.
About: Note: Be sure to check my calendar for availability before booking. Thanks! I adopted my Puerto Rican rescue named Leo in 2019 and he has completely changed my life. He can be reactive on walks and is a super anxious boy in general so I have experience managing nervous dogs. Leo has taught me to see every dog as a cherished family member and loyal companion. When I meet a dog, I want to make them feel as loved and special as they make us feel everyday. My goal is to spend as much time as possible with dogs and I would love to meet yours! I know how exhausting it can be to work and meet your pets needs, and I would love to give you some peace of mind knowing they’ve gotten attention, love, and exercise while you’re busy. I am a student home for the summer and am free until September, but am taking a couple of weekends away so make sure to check my calendar. I am open to spending time with your dog in your home during the day and stay overnight for up to a week. I can do mealtimes and take walks/backyard playtime. And of course, will include endless cuddles.
“I can’t recommend Elizabeth enough. This was our first time using Rover, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Elizabeth was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. She kept us updated throughout the visit, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It made such a difference knowing our dog was in safe and caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind sitter.”

“Daria checked in on my cat Oscar whilst we were away, I returned home to a very happy cat and lovely tidy flat. The updates we received were very detailed and reassuring, accompanied with lovely photos of Oscar looking very content in Daria’s company. Will not hesitate to book Daria in again for future pet care and would 100% recommend Daria to anyone looking for a pet sitter. Thanks again Daria ☺️”

About: I care deeply about animals and have worked at an animal rights charity since 2015. I love being around dogs and getting to meet so many of them. I take them with me everywhere they’re allowed come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, I follow their cues for cuddles and pets and am big on making sure they always have a full water dish and are fed on time. My building has a nice size fenced in garden that gets lots of sunlight. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so they hang with me in the living room. I take them out 5 times a day starting around 8am and ending at 10:30pm. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30pm and maybe Tesco - away for up to 2 hours. I leave soft music on for them. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.

“Nicollette is a fantastic cat sitter- she kept Disco entertained and cared for her really well. She brought her own toys and even gave Disco one. I would definitely recommend Nicollette! ”

About: Animals have always been naturally drawn to me, and I have loved caring for them since I was five. Over the years, I have cared for six dogs and three cats, including having two dogs and one cat of my own. I am comfortable around animals with different personalities and always take the time to understand their individual needs. I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets, whether that means playing, going for walks, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company. I am patient, responsible and caring, and I would treat every pet as if they were my own. I work part-time, so I have flexible time to look after dogs. I’m available for dog boarding all day on weekends, and on weekdays I am free after 2 pm to feed, walk and spend quality time with your pets. I offer pet sitting visits at your home. If your pet stays with me, I will provide a tidy, quiet indoor space and follow your exact feeding, play and care instructions carefully to keep your pet comfortable.
“Aimee was prompt, courteous, and followed all instructions provided. We got updates and pictures and it was clear our cat was well taken care of. We would definitely hire her again!”

About: I’ve had dogs all 23 years of my life till i moved to the Uk (with 3 dogs currently back home). Also, i usually do pet sitting, day cares and pet walks back in my home country on a different app, as seen in the reviews:) Additionally, i had been working in a pet clinic, full time for about 1.5 years and am currently studying Veterinary medicine at the University of edinburgh. So i would say that i am really well equipped with the appropriate knowledge to take care of your fur babies, large or small, while you are away! I’m currently studying at the university of edinburgh so my schedule would vary depending on the dates of stay. But typically during a weekday, 10am would be the earliest that i leave the house and am I'm back by latest 5pm. I’m mostly home during the weekends except for quick meetups with my friends over lunch or dinner! (Do text me to check, as my schedule is not fixed! And i always make sure that i am able to care for them before taking them in:)) I will take loads of pics and update you every alternate day or as frequently as you would like me to! I also live w a small garden just next to my flat for any quick trips to the loo and can bring them for a walk near the meadows which is just a 10min walk away.
About: I am from Japan and I really like dogs. I have experience walking dogs and spending time with them. I am calm and reliable. I will always follow your instructions. I would be happy to spend time with your dog and take good care of them. My schedule is very flexible, so I’m happy to work around your needs and your dog’s routine. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your dog’s needs. Your dog’s safety and happiness are very important to me. “Becky was so sweet! She came by to meet Pepper for the first time before she sits for us and Pepper warmed up to her right away. She has helped make us feel so comfortable for our upcoming sit and we are looking forward to having her watch Pepper for us very soon!”

About: I have a senior German Shepherd at home and understand the adjustments that need to be made for each dog, they have their unique personalities and necessities, so I like to be with dogs on their and their parents/owners' terms. I have helped friends with dog walking, I always like to take them out on walks with a focus on balancing the mental (sniffing around) and physical exercise they get. Finally, I love to pet dogs and give them massages, and I have a weird little obsession which is to observe their feces to understand their gut health. I am currently a full-time student so my schedule is very flexible aside from the weekly classes I take, currently I am available Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and weekends (except Sunday mornings). So I have plenty of time to build trust and play with your dogs :) I cannot take care of pets at my accommodation, but where I sit at a pet owner's home, I am a person that values appropriateness, so if I ever have to come by a home to sit a pet, I will make sure I leave like I was never there, except for the fact that the pet has been well taken care of and well fed.
About: We’ve always had family dogs, and I also had my own dog for a couple of years. I have experience with foster dogs, and my friends often rely on me to take care of their pups when they travel to warmer places. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, giving them cuddles, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m currently working from home, so I can keep your dog company all day long and make sure they’re never alone if needed. I have plenty of time for hugs, games, and walks! I’m really flexible, and I believe a tired pup is a happy pup, so I love long adventures and play sessions! My partner and I live in a one-bedroom flat on Leith Walk, with plenty of parks nearby! We’ll both make sure your dog gets extra love while you’re away. I strictly follow owners’ rules when it comes to schedule and food, no treats unless you say so!

We’re really happy with how well Rhianna looked after our boy Pecorino. He’s very shy around new humans, but she was very patient, gave him the time and space he needed. She followed all instructions and even took in a few unexpected parcels for us! We fully expected to come home to an annoyed Pecorino for leaving him, but instead we came back to a very happy boy who was pleased to see us — always a good sign! We’d happily have her look after Pecorino again. Thank you for taking such good care of him!

Hind was amazing, warm.amd engaging from the get go with us AND the furry ones! Got probably the best picture of Juno I have ever seen on top of everything! Communication was clear and even our semi feral was a fan. Hind went above and beyond, I would book her again in a heartbeat!
Josie did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats, really cannot recommend her enough. The cats were very comfortable with her, she was thorough with the care routine, and an excellent cat photographer to boot. We can sometimes be very nervous going away, but felt zero nerves with the cats in Josie's care.
Lucia was absolutely wonderful, she took great care of our cat whilst we were away for a few days. She took time to get to know her and her routine each time she would visit and that was clear by her daily updates and photos she would share. I'm sure we'll be reaching out to her again in the future :)

Chiyo was great with Oz, I was a bit nervous as it was the longest I had left him alone but she made sure he was happy and sent lots of photo updates to assuage my fears. Chiyo was also happy to move her visit time around when I wound up arriving sooner than planned which was a massive help! Would definitely recommend her to anyone needing a cat sitter

Mei was absolutely reliable and I returned home to a relaxed happy cat. I loved that she sent me so many updates - she not only fed my cat and kept her box super clean but Mie really took time to make paper play things, give real affection and companionship. I recommend her without reservation and will certainly ask her back.
I have booked daria to cat sit for us many times, sometimes as drop in visits and sometimes as house sitting for longer holidays. This booking was as seamless and stress free as always! Daria is extremely reliable, trustworthy, and I never have any concerns when I'm away. She gives very detailed updates, which I love! My cat loves her, she is kind and gentle and is just a natural with animals. I hope Daria can always be here to look after my kitty cat. Highly recommend! Thank you Daria!

I couldn't recommend Maymay enough! This was my first time using Rover and the longest I had been away from my cat since adopting her, but Maymay's attention to detail, regular updates, and genuine care for my cat made the process so easy. At the meet & greet, Maymay took detailed notes and photos, and asked good questions, which was reassured me that she was the right catsitter for us! During the period of drop-ins, Maymay was punctual and always kept me updated on when she was arriving and leaving the flat. She sent photos and videos, as well as a thorough write-up at the end of each day. My cat Tiger Lily is an anxious girl but Maymay was great at reading when she wanted some space and when she wanted to play, and Tiger Lily quickly warmed up to her. My cat also has specific feeding instructions, which Maymay followed precisely and which provided me with peace of mind. Maymay is a great catsitter and I would be more than happy to use her services again. I'm sure Tiger Lily would love it too!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edinburgh choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a key safe. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalised codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm.
