Couldn't recommend Maymay enough! The updates were amazing - always really prompt, with loads of detail and lots of photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I honestly never once felt stressed or worried about my wee one because I knew she was in such safe hands. It meant I could actually relax and enjoy my holiday without constantly wondering how she was getting on! The biggest compliment is that my cat absolutely loved her. She's usually quite wary of people she's only met a couple of times, but she was so affectionate with her and clearly felt really comfortable, which says it all. I'll definitely be booking again in the future. Five stars from me! :)

About: I have grown up with 4 Great Danes in my family household over the years, so I am very comfortable looking after larger breeds as well as smaller breeds. I have always been extremely fond of dogs and very much consider them part of the family! Alongside my own experience with family dogs, I also regularly looked after friend’s dogs, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, and maintaining their normal routines while my friends are away. Whether that be the dog staying with me or me staying at my friend’s house with the dog. I genuinely get nothing but pleasure looking after dogs - they bring so much love and joy and make the world a better place! I work from home, with very flexible hours and thus can work from anywhere and able to take dogs out for a walk throughout the day etc. I live in a block of flats but am on the ground floor next to the back exit of which have access to a shared garden.

I can’t recommend Elizabeth enough. This was our first time using Rover, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Elizabeth was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. She kept us updated throughout the visit, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It made such a difference knowing our dog was in safe and caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind sitter.

About: I am an experienced dog sitter who has looked after animals of all size and ages, including reactive dogs and senior dogs with medical needs. I work from home so am available for day and/or overnight sits throughout the week as well as walks and drop-ins. When staying with me, I take dogs out first thing in the morning and last thing at night plus however many walks they need during the day depending on their age and activity level. We have an unfenced garden that is perfect for on-lead pee stops and sniffs! No pets of our own in the flat. Dogs are very much welcome to make our home their own and are allowed on the furniture and to sleep on the bed if that’s what they’re used to. I have done a number of sits in the owners hone before and always leave the house exactly as I find it.

About: I began volunteering at animal shelters as a preteen and have been volunteering or fostering animals ever since. I love how a dog opens up with the right understanding and play regardless of their background. I have 15 years experience fostering rescue dogs, and am guilty of adopting a few myself! My specialty is dogs, but I am also experienced with cats and horses (thank goodness because I can hardly get my frenchies to not fall in love with every mare they see). I am a copywriter and work from home, spending the day playing with my two frenchies and working while they rest. If your dog(s) is sociable and enjoys playing then they’ll enjoy spending time with us. My own dogs are high energy so we’d split our time between the fenced in private garden and nap time on the couch. Dogs can be dropped off with me in the morning as early as 7, when they’ll spend the first few hours of the day with my dogs and I in the garden for some run around time before a mid-morning nap. Weather permitting, in the afternoon we’ll spend more time outside or play with sensory toys inside. My own dogs are high energy so the day is shaped by both physical and mental stimulation in order for all dogs spending time with me to have a healthy outlet for their energy. If your dog is a cuddle bug, they’re more than welcome to spend the day in my lap as I write and keep an eye on the high energy pups. My dogs put themselves to bed for the night around 7:30pm, but late drop offs are alright up until 11pm. If they’re spending the night or multiple nights, just let me know what their routine is so I can continue it during their stay with me. I’m well versed in dogs with separation anxiety and am happy to adjust to their needs during boarding. My garden is fully fenced in up to waist height, which suitably contains high energy small and medium sized dogs. If your dog is large and likes to jump we can set up a test to see if the fence height is safe for them. I have two French bulldog/Jack Russell mixes who are very social and love to play with other dogs. If you’re looking for a low key environment for your dog to socialize, you’ve found the right place. I have experience with senior dogs (my beloved chihuahua lived until he was 23), and would say if they’re happy to cuddle with me or play with my dogs they’ll be a good fit. If your dog is shy and would be overwhelmed by social dogs, I’d encourage a one pet-sitter for their comfort.

About: I am Giulia, I live with my partner and our corgi Mortimer in a flat in the heart of Edinburgh. We are close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk. Mortimer is very friendly and always happy to spend time with new dog friends :) I have always had huge love for animals and especially dogs. Since I was younger I volunteered at my local shelter back in Italy, taking care of dogs and walk them. This experience has been very important to me, I had the chance to learn how to approach many dogs with different personalities, and also with no-longer-puppies with trust issues. It has been years since we started dog boarding and walking and it has been a great experience. We will do our best to provide a loving home for your furry best friends while you are away! We want to keep your dog's routine as much stable as we can, providing as much cuddles, exercise and play as he/she needs! :) I can't wait to know your furry fellas! I work full time but I have a flexible schedule and can work remotely if needed. I usually give my dog a long walk/play in the morning and after work, and a shorter one at lunch and before going to bed. My flat is close to The Meadow (if your buddies love to meet new friends), Holyrood Park (if they prefer a more peaceful and calm park) and to a small park just behind the flat, perfect for a wee walk.

I am willing to accept all dog breeds, however I will not accept dogs which are XL in size. I am comfortable with walking dogs which are large sized to small. My current routine includes a full time job 9-5. I am able to do evening dog walks. I have availability most weekends and spend most of my time in Edinburgh. I can care for your pets with their current routine at your own home. I am able to follow your instructions to look after you pets as you normally would. I am able to take dogs out for long walks & since I am training for a half marathon, I am keen to run with your dogs if that would be appropriate.

About: I’ve had dogs all 23 years of my life till i moved to the Uk (with 3 dogs currently back home). Also, i usually do pet sitting, day cares and pet walks back in my home country on a different app, as seen in the reviews:) Additionally, i had been working in a pet clinic, full time for about 1.5 years and am currently studying Veterinary medicine at the University of edinburgh. So i would say that i am really well equipped with the appropriate knowledge to take care of your fur babies, large or small, while you are away! I’m currently studying at the university of edinburgh so my schedule would vary depending on the dates of stay. But typically during a weekday, 10am would be the earliest that i leave the house and am I'm back by latest 5pm. I’m mostly home during the weekends except for quick meetups with my friends over lunch or dinner! (Do text me to check, as my schedule is not fixed! And i always make sure that i am able to care for them before taking them in:)) I will take loads of pics and update you every alternate day or as frequently as you would like me to! I also live w a small garden just next to my flat for any quick trips to the loo and can bring them for a walk near the meadows which is just a 10min walk away.

About: I’ve been taking care of all kinds of dogs since I was a kid. I have had two Great Danes (LOVE large breeds) and most recently lived with three cats of my own. I’m the go-to ‘pet sitter’ for all of my friends and frequently will watch theirs for weeks at a time. I love making sure pets feel safe and at home with me, whether it’s cuddles or going on adventures! I work remotely, so generally can fit my routine around the pet! If they need cuddles or alone time I can organize accordingly. For pets who need lots of outdoor time, I can hang in my front garden (weather permitting) and I love going on long walks and runs, so they can come with me when appropriate. I have a fenced front garden, and with pets I give them the space or lack of space they want generally. At my home,I give them a place to establish comfort, and at your home I follow your guidelines to make sure they have a routine to keep things normalized (with lots of treats if allowed)

About: We’ve always had family dogs, and I also had my own dog for a couple of years. I have experience with foster dogs, and my friends often rely on me to take care of their pups when they travel to warmer places. I genuinely love spending time with dogs, giving them cuddles, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m currently working from home, so I can keep your dog company all day long and make sure they’re never alone if needed. I have plenty of time for hugs, games, and walks! I’m really flexible, and I believe a tired pup is a happy pup, so I love long adventures and play sessions! My partner and I live in a one-bedroom flat on Leith Walk, with plenty of parks nearby! About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for ages. I’ve also worked at an animal rights charity since 2015 because animals have a huge place in my heart and I care deeply for their well-being. If I see a dog at a restaurant or venue who doesn’t have a water dish, I’ll always get them one. I have so much empathy for animals it hurts. With me, your dog will get long walks, lots of attention, and be well cared for and engaged. I take them with me everywhere they can come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, they get as many cuddles as they want - I always read their cues and follow their lead. I make sure they always have a full water dish, are fed on time, and I can give them medicine, if needed. If dogs like being pet, scratched, or massaged, that's what they get from me until my hands fall off. My flat has a nice size shared garden in the back that gets lots of sunlight, and it’s fenced in. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so it’s flexible. I take them out 5 times a day starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm. I have them settled for sleep by 10:30. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30 and am away for about 90 mins total, unless otherwise specified. I leave the music on for them, softly. Other than that I’m with the dog the whole time. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.

If you live in a flat, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or lift etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
