“Hannah was incredible!! One of my cats doesn't like many people and she loved Hannah. Phenomenal communication, pics, and understanding. Hannah's vibes are just lovely and I will be excited to rebook!”

“Giulia was absolutely brilliant with our rescue Dillon and showered him with love and fuss straight away! Her communication with us was second to none, especially when Dillon ate a wasp and she had to sort out his snoot with the stinger - she kept us so well updated and gave him plenty of love even though he 100% did it to himself! He's looking forward to his next sit already 😊”

“This was our first time leaving our dog Sunny with a sitter and Daria made sure we had a first class experience! Daria came and met Sunny the week before, and asked all the right questions, which was very reassuring. We received lots of photos and updates while we were away - really great communication. We would not hesitate to book Daria again.”

“Jill was great with Zeus and was sending us updates throughout the stay! She made sure to stick to Zeus routine and kept the flat nice and tidy as well! Will definitely use Jill again, thank you!”

“Maymay was a fantastic sitter for our 2 cats and kept us up to date with some funny videos of the cats antics. Our home was also left in pristine condition. We'll definitely book again and highly recommend Maymay as a sitter.”

About: Giving Your Pets Their Own Little Holiday with Loving Care, Fun Adventures & Plenty of Cuddles I've grown up with dogs and have always been passionate about caring for animals. My pet sitting journey began while I was at school and university, looking after the pets of family and friends. Since then, I've loved giving owners peace of mind while making sure their pets have a wonderful time too. While I have the most experience with dogs, I'm also happy to care for cats. I had a cat for three years, so I'm familiar with their different personalities, routines, and the gentle, patient approach they often appreciate. I like to keep your pet's routine as consistent as possible, so I'll always ask plenty of questions before a booking. I'm also happy to arrange a meet and greet session beforehand to make sure everyone, pets and owners alike, feels comfortable and confident. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I'll provide plenty of love, attention, and care while you're away, so your pets can enjoy their own little holiday too! As an avid photographer, I love capturing special moments during our time together. You can expect regular updates, so you'll always know how your pet is getting on. I'll also do my best to capture plenty of adorable moments and maybe even a few fun "selfies" if your pet is happy to pose! I treat every pet as if they were my own and genuinely enjoy getting to know their unique personalities. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I work full-time, so I’m mainly available for pet care at weekends. During the week, I’m happy to offer cat check-ins, and I have availability on Friday afternoons for dog walks. At weekends, I love getting outdoors and making the most of adventures with dogs, whether that’s exploring a beach, heading up a hill, or discovering new walking routes. I enjoy giving pets plenty of exercise, enrichment, and quality time while they’re in my care. I prefer to care for pets in their own home, as this allows them to stay in a familiar environment where they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed. Keeping their normal routines, surroundings, and familiar smells helps reduce any stress while their owners are away. I take the time to understand each pet’s needs, habits, and preferences so I can provide care that feels personal and consistent. I also have my own car, which makes it easy to visit, get out and about for walks, adventures, and enrichment while ensuring pets can enjoy plenty of exercise and stimulation.

“Eirini, was a joy to have in my home looking after my English Setter. She was always responsive to messages, very prompt in arriving on time and sent lovely photos of my dog enjoying a fun weekend in her care. Thank you so much …..I can 100% recommend Eirini to any other dog owners.”

“Isabel is absolutely amazing! She did a three night long house sitting for my cat. I felt very comfortable and safe leaving my cat with her. I got multiple pictures and updates daily which was lovely, and in each photo my cat looked very content and happy. When I got back the cat was happy, fed, with clean water bowl and litter box, and the flat was spotless. Would absolutely recommend!”

“Rebecca has been very accommodating, and has genuinely gone above and beyond in supporting Dougal (and me, perhaps even more so!). I felt really at ease and relaxed that he is in good hands. Given Dougal deployed the full body, happy wiggles seeing her again, I think we can safely say we'd both like to rely on her support in the future ☺️”

“Iina was absolutely amazing with our chocolate lab Willa. She went above and beyond, was extremely detailed in her prep before she watched Willa, and we felt so very comfortable leaving Willa with her while we celebrated our wedding. She saved the day in quite a few ways and we were so very happy we chose her to dog sit. Can’t recommend Iina more 😄”

About: With experience owning two dogs and two years of helping breeders raise puppies, I’m a self-proclaimed dog lover who genuinely enjoys caring for pups of all personalities. My priority is always making sure your dog feels safe, happy, and comfortable. My partner and I live together in a spacious flat with a fenced garden and no pets of our own. I work from home part-time, while my partner works from home full-time, so there will always be someone around to give your pup plenty of care and attention throughout the day. I also have experience caring for dogs who aren’t comfortable around other dogs, including managing walks and creating a calm, safe environment at home. Being right next to Holyrood, we’re perfectly located for walks, playtime and plenty of outdoor adventures! Pet care fits easily into my daily routine as I’m home most days, and my partner also works from home. This means there will always be someone around to give your pet plenty of attention, company, and care throughout the day. I have a large, fully fenced garden and a spacious home where dogs have plenty of room to safely explore, relax, and make themselves comfortable. I’m also close to great walking spots and love taking dogs out for walks, as well as playing fetch, frisbee, and other games, especially for energetic pups! I’m happy to tailor care to each dog’s personality and needs. If they enjoy socialising, I’m also happy to bring them along to dog-friendly places such as pubs or outdoor gatherings. Most importantly, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, happy, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re with me.

About: Chihuahua’s and smaller dogs often feel unsure around larger dogs but can blossom in confidence around dogs their own size! That’s why I decided to offer doggy daycare, walks and sitting services especially for those on the smaller end of the spectrum. As I have a chihuahua myself, I am experienced on their particular needs and personality traits. My home has lots of appropriately sized toys, treats and places to nap in. I have experience with working with reactive dogs and dogs with behavioural difficulties. If your dog does have any of these issues then please do disclose to me in advance so I can be aware of any potential triggers. I will follow any feeding plan and am experienced in administering medication in powdered or tablet form. Walks generally take place around Poplar and Bow where your dog will be able to meet other dogs and experience key situations for socialisation e.g joggers, cyclists, children, prams etc. Our favourite walkies location is Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park which is perfect for dogs who love a good sniff 🐕 in hot weather dogs are safe in my apartment which has a variety of enrichment activities and is air conditioned. As a pet owner myself I really worry about my dog when we aren’t together and know how comforting photos of your dog having a nice time or looking relaxed and cosy are. I always take lots of photos to send to owners and am happy to keep you updated as often as you need to feel comfortable. In addition to the Rover Guarantee I also have an extra insurance policy which covers public liability, loss of keys, injury and pet owner emergency travel costs etc. Please let me know if you would like to see details of my policy. If you have any questions then please do feel free to ask! For £30 off your first booking please use my referral code https://www.rover.com/sit/pippam411262 I am currently on a sabbatical and am available full time for pet care. My schedule is usually: breakfast, morning walk, playtime at home, longer afternoon walk followed by a snooze for tired puppies, dinner, evening walk and then often more playtime or snoozing depending on the dogs energy. In hot weather I keep my apartment cool and breezy, avoid walking in high temperatures and provide enrichment activities at home to keep busy minds engaged! I am a legal professional and have a full extended DBS check so I can be relied upon to take care of both your pet/s and your home. I live in a secure development and the dogs will remain with me at all times.

About: I have looked after my own cat, as well as a close friend's dog, for over 10 years now. I have experience in animal handling, behaviour, nutrition, and medication administration from my veterinary studies. I understand and prioritise the welfare of animals above all else. I am currently in my second year at vet school, however until june I am very quite with work, and then I will be on summer holidays. Generally evenings work better for me as well as weekends I respect property and ask plenty of questions about dos and don'ts. I look for the best care and interest as well as stress free environment for all animals
“Azalea was great! We have a rescue who is reactive, and Azalea managed her so well. Azalea was very calm and confident in all of her interactions and we felt really safe leaving our dog with her. She also left our flat spotless after staying there for a week. We highly recommend Azalea!”

“Fiona was superb! She was very good with communication, clearly loved dogs and bonded with our dogs very well. She was very organised, clean & tidy and updated us re the dogs regularly. It was our first time leaving them with anyone and we couldn’t have been happier. We are hoping she may come back another time!”

“This was Ciara’s first time sitting for our whippet, Dulsie and she was brilliant. Dulsie is shy and a little fearful but Ciara managed her very well. She sent updates through out the evening and took excellent care of Dulsie. We look forward to having her look after Dulsie more in the future. We are very happy to have found her.”

“Hazel did a fantastic job looking after our two cats. She was communicative throughout, accommodated our last minute change, and we returned home to two happy cats that clearly had been well taken care of. Would strongly recommend.”

I can see why Giulia is a star sitter ! Loads of pup dates and was very communicative during the stay and on the run up It put me massively at ease and Murph had a wonderful time with her. Highly professional and her love of dogs and animals shone through Thank you !

Maymay was an excellent cat sitter for my wee cat Lola. She was very warm and friendly when I met her and obviously a cat lover. At the first meeting she took detailed notes and photos as well as asking lots of good questions about Lola and her routine based on her profile. While I was away Maymay sent lots of detailed reports plus photos and videos so I never had to worry about how Lola was as I knew she was happy and being very well looked after! Maymay stayed at my flat for four nights and left it very clean and tidy which was also great. I came home to a very happy cat and will definitely be booking Maymay again to look after Lola!

Elise is fantastic! She took care of our two golden retrievers with such great care. Each time she watched our dogs, we came home to very happy, tired, and even clean pups. On top of that, she left our flat spotless going above and beyond what is expected. She is also a clear and quick communicator. We will miss having a great dog sitter here in Scotland, but would highly recommend her to anyone in Australia needing care for their dogs!

Jillson took amazing care of our dachshund and would highly recommend her for everyone. She is punctual and professional each time, provided excellent care and attention to detail while looking after our dog. The regular of updates throughout the stay were really reassuring and gave us great piece of mind knowing out dog was happy and well looked after. We would be a 100% happy to book her in the future!

Camilla did an incredible job looking after our cat Toffee when we went on holiday. She really cared for Toffee who had a sore paw and needed pain killers while we were away. Toffee really warmed to her and felt comfortable to play and give cuddles. She kept us updated regularly on how Toffee was getting on and sent us photos. She was also really flexible and patient with us when we had issues with our boiler and had to accommodate gas engineers popping in.

I highly recommend Ciara! Her care for our dog and house is wonderful and I feel so lucky to have found her to help us out when we need dog care. Otto loves her and honestly, he seems a little annoyed when we return which means he has had the best time with Ciara.

Fiona was superb! She was very good with communication, clearly loved dogs and bonded with our dogs very well. She was very organised, clean & tidy and updated us re the dogs regularly. It was our first time leaving them with anyone and we couldn’t have been happier. We are hoping she may come back another time!

Nataly came to sit for Alfie overnight this week and she was great! We got loads of messages and photos updating us throughout the vacation, which was fantastic. Alfie clearly liked her, as his usual routine is to be quite aloof for the first two days, then consider cuddling, but straight away he was following her around and even slept in her room too. She's a great sitter and we've already got her booked for our next trip :)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Edinburgh walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edinburgh choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
