“Michele took great care of my cats, kept me updated with pics and always responded to any messages. I would happily have her look after Fitz and Murphy in the future.”

“Lucy was amazing with the house and both dogs - they seem super chilled out and didn't cause any trouble (or none that Lucy couldn't handle anyway). Polite, respectful and great updates - always kept in touch or let me know if there was anything up. Glad I booked with Lucy and I wouldn't think twice about doing so again :)”

I look after my parents cat a lot when they go on holiday multiple times a year and have have administered medication to her regularly. I work as a hybrid role 2 days in the office so plenty time to visit cats before work, during lunch and after work even after being in the office so easy to incorporate visits When visiting cats in their own home, I respect their space and routine. I ensure all doors and windows are secure before letting them roam freely. I check for any hazards, keep food and water fresh, and spend quality time giving them attention and play at their own pace
“Was very nervous of leaving my dogs with a stranger for the first time. Pam came to meet the dogs before confirming she’d look after them. The dogs took to her straight away even though one is very timid of strangers. She also made us feel very confident too. Dogs seemed to really enjoy being with her as we saw from the photos she sent us. Thank you Pam for giving us all a good experience and even watering the garden to save my son in law from having to come and do it. Wouldn’t hesitate in asking you again.”

“Above and beyond- Sue made sure we were all comfortable happy and confident. Sent us regular updates and pictures. First class excellent would throughly recommend. Thank you Sue we will definitely use you again when are next visiting. Dick Val & Jax ??”

About: I have always been a big animal lover as our family household always had dogs & cats present. This has made me confident handling different breeds and ages, from playful pups to senior dogs. I also have experience giving oral medication, as one of our younger dogs has hip dysplasia. Since moving into my own home, I’ve really missed the company of pets, so this is a perfect time to care for others. Our household is quiet, child-free and pet-free which is ideal for creating a calm, stress-free space. I also have lots of experience with cats, having grown up with them until recently losing my childhood cat at age 22. I love getting to know their unique personalities and hope to adopt a couple of rescues in the future as I really do miss the company. During the week I am available Mon-Fri 3.15pm onwards with the except of the school holidays as then i will be off work & flexible. I am also off every weekend. I drive so if a drop off or pick up if required that’s no issue. I will keep dogs on lead at all times unless given instructions by the owner to let them off - if they are let off I make sure it’s away from main roads & a secluded safe area. I have no kids or pets & our garden is fenced off. During my time looking after your pets I will send updates & photos so you feel at ease and know they are being looked after with the best care.
“Our boy was very well looked after by Rebecca and perfectly happy in her care. Delighted that during some unexpected fireworks she waited with Opi before taking him out his walk to ensure he wasn’t spooked by them. Shows real care and compassion for our beloved boy. Rebecca was kind, warm and caring and gave an excellent service! Thank you!”

About: Hi I'm Clare and I'm cat crazy!!! I have had cats since I was a child- they have almost always been there with me. I love all animals in general. Growing up I had a dog, gorgeous black gerbils, budgies and of course, cats!! I have my little adopted cat, Agnes, who is an indoor cat and she is my world. I know it can be daunting leaving the kitties but I assure everyone that they are left in capable and loving hands. I, myself, used cat in a flat serviced for Agnes and now I work for them too. This is an amazing service!!!! I know how important cats are and the best care is always taken by me for these wonderful animals.💜
About: I’ve always had pets growing up and don’t currently have any of my own, but continue to look after both friends’ and family’s pets as well as through Rover. I’m also a manager for a rabbit rescue, so I do have a keen interest in animal welfare and I have an experience of dealing with different cases - illness, geriatric, over/underweight, medication, grooming. I have been challenged in this role repeatedly and it’s built further on my confidence caring for animals. I work full time in a hybrid role. I’m available for boarding and walks on weekends but also in evenings on weeknights. If there’s any time you’d like for any of the services which isn’t showing on the calendar, you can still give me a message/request to book and we can try & sort something out. I do have foster bunnies in the flat who have their own room so the doors can be shut so as not to disturb either pet if that is still suitable. The rabbits are fosters as part of my volunteer work with the rescue.

“Jenny was amazing and took very good care of our cats. Summer and Skip warmed to her pretty much straight away. Really appreciated the regular updates as totally put my mind at ease that they were in good hands 😺 ”

About: I’ve looked after people’s pets for as long as I can remember, including dog and cat sitting, walking, and popping in to check on them. I have a strong love for animals and have been trusted for years by family, friends, and neighbours in my town to care for their pets as if they were my own. I’m a full-time student, which means I have good flexibility during the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I also work part-time on Saturdays, so my availability is a little more limited that day, but I’m always happy to discuss schedules and do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs. When caring for pets in their own home, I make sure to stick closely to your routines and instructions. I understand how important consistency is for pets, so I’ll follow any feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and house rules you provide. I treat every home with respect and care for pets as if they were my own, keeping them comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.

Pet owners share their Rover experiences - Falkirk
Michele looked after our boy Baxter in his own home while we were on holiday for 2 weeks. Michele and Baxter bonded really well as always. She sent lots of pictures and videos which were much appreciated. As well as looking after Baxter she continued to train and got him over his fear of crossing over bridges. I would not hesitate in recommending Michele in caring for your dog.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Falkirk walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Falkirk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
