About: I have worked with cats and dogs at an animal rescue in North Carolina for the past two years, giving me the chance to learn how to approach a variety of temperaments (including reactive dogs), breeds, ages and sizes. Additionally, I received training in administering oral medications for dogs and cats. In addition to rescue work, I have my own rescued German Shepherd mix who has joined me in a variety of adventures for the last six years. Before him, I had a lovely orange tabby that was an expert mouser who patrolled my home for 13 years before she crossed the rainbow bridge. Currently I have flexible time offering me the chance to provide a more varied schedule of care. Mornings and evenings are generally free, and with enough notice I am also available for weekend care. I am able to tailor care to the individual animal, be it crating if needed or leaving them free-roaming. In my home, my dog was able to be left free-roaming after plenty of time dedicated to training, and the cat had free reign of indoors and outdoors.

Negin and Samin were the perfect sitters for our wee elderly cat Chloe. They kept us up to date every day with regular pics & videos. They communicated well with us if they had any questions regarding Chloe’s routine. They were able to administer her medication which included a weekly infusion of saline, which we were very grateful for! They are a lovely kind & thoughtful couple and took great care of our girl and our home during their stay. I will be definitely be booking them again in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone to look after their precious fur babies.

He helped me correct everything and even when my key safe broke he still managed to come in and look after my dogs. Dogs loved him, we loved him, will definitely be asking him again in the future

Gabrielle looked after our dog Ruby in our home while we were away for a week. Ruby was well looked after with lots of walks in the park and countryside. Our home was well looked after as well, with the home being left in great condition upon our arrival home. I would highly recommend Gabrielle to look after your pet/home with confidence and we would be happy to rebook her again.

About: I have fostered kittens for 7 years, alongside rescuing pregnant cats and giving them a safe place to give birth. I have owned multiple cats, and taken care of several with medical issues. I am a student with very flexible hours! I absolutely love cats, and I enjoy going for walks, and would love a dog to accompany me. I can offer flexible care for your pets needs, from walking your dog, drop in visits to feed and entertain your pets, and longer stays to ensure that your pets needs are met!

About: I have dog walked and house sat many friends, co-workers, and family pets since I was 10. Some of these included over a week of care. I worked in a veterinary clinic for about 3 years and have experience with all breeds of dogs and cats and know how to care for senior pets. I also know how to give medications if needed even if the pets are a bit sneaky about their meds 😂. I have grown up with and always been around animals so I have loads of experience with all ages and many breeds of cats and dogs. Currently I am on summer holiday from Vet School so besides the occasional trip I am free all day. Once I go back to school in September I will be busy in the mornings from 9 to 12 but will be free weekends and most afternoons to nights on the weekdays unless I have a lab. I have mostly only watched pets at the owners house. Due to that I prefer to leave the house better than I found it. If I use anything I clean it up, I am extremely tidy and love to be organized. I follow the rules the pet owner has for their pet and the sitter to a T. I want the pet owner to feel comfortable and like they can relax while away so I make sure to be clean and give outstanding care to their pet. This means going on many walks or outings for the bathroom, playing with them as often as possible to make sure the pet has amble fun and stimulation, and making sure to stick to the feeding routine and amount the owner provides. Overall, I treat the pet as if it’s my own and take care of their place as if the owner was coming back to a clean hotel room.

About: I have dog walked, dog and cat sat, and trained throughout my childhood and teenage years, and used that experience last year to work for a local company in my home town to walk and pet sit for pets of all kinds (cats, dogs of all sizes, and even birds). I am currently working from home with flexible hours, so I am able to look after your pets at anytime of the day for any length of time! Unfortunately I am unable to keep pets in my flat due to my tenancy agreement. However, for care in the pet owner’s home I offer long walks, games such as fetch, visits to the dog park, quality one on one time for senior pets and cats, feeding, training, baths, grooming, and even services such as taking out the bins and watering household plants if needed!

Erin is ABSOLUTELY amazing! I would HIGHLY recommend for any of your fur babies. Erin sent me regular text messages and pictures throughout my time away and always kept me updated. Sequoia absolutely adored her time with Erin and was given the BEST care. Sequoia is a 4 month old puppy and Erin was even so kind as to keep up with her training routine while I was away - I came back to my perfectly behaved puppy with absolutely no training regression! Highly, highly recommend!

It was a pleasure meeting Genevieve and Rory, and great to know that our two cats were in good hands. Our female cat is more wary of new people however the updates soon showed her sleeping on their bed and enjoying head scratches. We returned to two very chilled cats and a tidy flat. I really hope Genevieve and Rory will be available again in the future.

Natalie saved us in extremely difficult circumstances. One of our cats had an accident before our holiday and he was recovering from an operation. He needed close supervision and the other cat was scared of him because of the cone the wound one was wearing. We left with such anxiety but Natalie was absolutely incredible. She understood and handled the situation perfectly, always sending updates and communicating regularly developments. She also managed to soften the tension between the two kitties while we were away. She gave us the peace of mind that we needed to enjoy our holiday despite the difficult circumstances. I can't stress enough how great she was and can't recommend her enough!

Johanna has truly been a blessing! She's a super responsible cat sitter, she kept an eye on Pascual the whole time and kept us updated on how he was doing. We happened to hire her during the heatwave, and she made sure to keep our beloved kitty cool and well hydrated. We're so grateful she's our cat sitter, we'll definitely hire her again and highly recommend her. She's also incredibly careful with the house! On top of that, she's incredibly affectionate with Pascual — he's a very shy cat who doesn't easily warm up to people, but he came right up to her, which really shows how caring Johanna is. Thank you, Johanna!🐱🐱

FAQs for House Sitting - Glasgow

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Glasgow on Rover is £34.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 1,013 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Glasgow. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Post & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Rubbish & recycling: Taking bins out on scheduled rubbish collection days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best time to agree on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a 'home cheat sheet' that includes your preferred Glasgow walking routes, the location of your favourite pet shop, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Glasgow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
