“Bella has just spent 4 days with Amy and she really loved it! Amy took her to the cricket ground where she could run around and meet other people and dogs. Bella is a wee socialite, so she just loved that. Amy took excellent care of my wee baby. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again when the need arises.”

“Elizabeth was very friendly & Skye immediately settled with her. We're very much a dogs on the sofa & bed family so it was a bonus that Elizabeth allows that if it will benefit the dog. Skye was treated to her fav dish (Chicken) a few times & probably would have happily stayed with Elizabeth longer lol. Would definitely recommend & will be using Elizabeth's dog boarding in future. Thank You for having Skye 🐾🐾🐾🐾”

“Amy looked after our 8 month old Border Terrier recently and we had a fantastic experience with her. From start the finish, the communication was great and it totally put us at ease as this was the first time we left our pup with someone we didn’t know. She was amazing with our pup and it was so lovely to know that they were in good hands! We have already booked Amy again!”

“Highly recommended, was extremely nervous about leaving Bear however I quickly realised I needn’t worry! Bear had a fantastic time and I was updated regularly. Was a really great experience for both myself and bear and will definitely be booking again. Thank you so much 😊”

“Felt very at ease leaving Max with Stephen. He gave me updates, sent photos, was more worried about him not earring than me. Will be using him again I am very happy with the care and attention Stephen gave my dog”

“Lauren looked after Mazey for 2 nights and did a brilliant job. She updated me regularly and took her lots of lovely walks. I know Mazey was in safe and caring hands and want to thank Lauren for being so thoughtful and kind.”

“Our warmest recommendations! Gill and family took such good care of our little maltipoo, when we were away for 12 days. We felt very safe leaving her in their care and returned to a happy little dog. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave her in their care again.”

“Ryan was brilliant with our little border terrier Doris! He sent lots of photos and updates which was really welcome and was really responsive to messages. He took a great deal of care in getting to know Doris's routine prior to her stay. Doris was happy and relaxed with Ryan and had so much fun on her little city escape! We would definitely recommend Ryan to take care of your beloved pets - Doris is chilled and tired now after her adventures, but looking forward to her next stay with Ryan and his partner 🥰”

Darren and his partner were very accommodating and helped me out with a last minute booking when my sitter fell through. We did a meet and greet and I felt confident that they would be great sitters who could make sure to follow Luna’s routine and make her stay as close to home as possible. By all accounts she had a great time, would book again

I can’t thank Jade enough for taking care of my wee guy while I had a few days away. I would highly recommend Jade for boarding and personalising care to the needs of your dog. I was kept updated with photos and updates and it’s a comfort to know your dog had the care he needed. Jade is a natural with dogs and I will definitely rebook my dog for boarding again. Thank you so much

Roisin looked after our dog Mika for about 10 days and we couldn't be happier! She kept us updated with daily photos and videos, and Mika had the absolute best time hanging out with Roisin, her partner, and some other lovely dogs. Mika came home calm and relaxed, and very well looked after. We'll definitely reach out again in the future!

Sakshi has looked after Alfie twice now and we’ve got to say he’s a very happy dog when he’s round at her place! All of the communication and organising went like clockwork and we would always be happy for her to be looking after our - not the easiest dog in the world! - Patterdale Terrier. Super highly recommended 😊

Excellent experience with Caragh and Callum. They were friendly, reliable and kept me updated throughout, with great communication and regular updates. They were also very confident and kind with my dog, who is quite a big boy. It was clear he was in very capable hands and being really well looked after. I’d have no hesitation in booking with Caragh again and would happily recommend them to others.

I was more than happy to have Belen look after Freya whilst I was on holiday. This was a very last minute arrangement due to being scammed by another sitter from another site, Belen was very reassuring and I was confident I was leaving Freya in good hands. She kept in touch through photo's and video's, so I could see Freya was happy and content. Had she not been moving I would book her again without hesitation.
Lisa is an absolutely brilliant sitter. We got lots of photos and updates and she took wonderful care of our Walter. He’s a wee bit nervous around strangers so the fact that he relaxed so much around her is testimony to her kindness. I’ll definitely book Lisa again.

We are so glad we found Maria to look after Asha. She loved her as soon as she met Asha and treated her like her own. Knowing how much she adored Asha made us feel immediately at ease and comfortable leaving our rescue with someone new. Maria’s communication was excellent, with lots of lovely updates and pictures to keep us informed when we were on holiday. Asha had the best time getting lots of cuddles, treats and brilliant walks. Our experience was so positive and I would highly recommend Maria to others looking for a dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
