It was a really wonderful stay for my wee dog, Benjy, with Mark. I was very reassured throughout as I received regular updates and photos. Initially, I was worried about leaving him for a week, but Mark and his lovely wife were extremely kind and reassuring. Benjy had a lovely time there. We are already looking forward to his next one-week stay in June again!

Paula was very accommodating, accepting my booking quite last minute (few days before) and was flexible about pick up and drop off times. She came to pick up Beau with her dog so they got to meet and continued to send me picture updates while I was away. Beau was crying after he got dropped off which is always a good sign he had a good time/ became attached. Will definitely use Paula again for short term dog sitting!

I booked Milena to look after my cat for the day while some work was being done at home, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My cat came home calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. He settled back into his routine straight away, which says a lot. Would definitely recommend and use again! Thank you Milena :)

Honestly the most lovely young lady. My puppy is only 8 months old, and he can be quite anxious, I was really worried about leaving him. Julia suggested a meet and greet before I left him for a few days and this helped a lot. She sent me regular updates, pictures and videos. She was able to see how loving any funny my pup was because of the love and care she gave to him. I couldn’t rate her high enough and I will definitely recommend and leave my dog with her again. Thanks so much Julia x

Shivani cared for Carbon as if he were her own, and I truly couldn’t have asked for more. She kept me constantly reassured with regular photos and videos, which meant so much, especially as he’s still only four months old. It’s not easy looking after a young puppy with endless energy and curiosity, but she was incredibly patient, calm and understanding throughout. She handled all his playful mischief with kindness and good humour, and even went out of her way to buy him treats. It’s clear she genuinely loves animals and invests real time and attention into their care. I came back to a happy, confident little pup, and that says everything. I would wholeheartedly trust her with Carbon again. Thank you Shivani.🙏💖🌸

Sara was a wonderful host for my dog Frisa for a few days while I visited Glasgow for a hospital procedure. Sara had a strong intuitive grasp of Frisa's needs and wants. Sara's descriptions and photos sent to me during Frisa's time with Sara matched my own experiences of Frisa's behaviour when engaged and contented. Frisa is a medium sized, but strong, dog and Sara paid careful attention to the advice that we gave her about handling Frisa on walks. I thoroughly recommend Sara.

Idoia and her partner are amazing sitters! Jet came back super tired from all of the activity she had on her 2 night stay! We got loads of updates and plenty of pictures to keep us sane! Once she was home she jumped up on our bed and that was her asleep for hours. Thank you for taking such good care of our precious cargo. We will definitely use Idoia again, and I'm pretty sure if Jet could talk she'd agree.

Joanne was a superb dog sitter. We booked her to look after our 2yo border terrier for a long weekend. She was great with communication throughout and sent through lovely photos of all their activities together. She packed so much into the 3 days and our dog certainly seemed to have a brilliant time with her. She comes across very relaxed and patient which is what we look for in a sitter. We would love to use her again in the future and would happily recommend to friends and family!

Lola is a 5yo, 40kg rescue dog. We're her 4th family, she was very reactive when we got her, and although she's better around other dogs now, we are always alert in case her reactiveness is triggered again by separation issues, as this was the case after leaving her in kennels a few years ago. We chose Monica because of her excellent reviews in Rover and we are more than happy with the job she's done. We met her and her dog Rory a few weeks?before our holidays and from that day we knew she was the right person as she came across as responsible and knowledgeable dog lover, with more than enough experience to look after Lola, and we found that Rory was a playful dog with a lovely nature who respected Lola's boundaries. The day we dropped her, we also met her partner who was also excited to have Lola, they're a beautiful and genuine couple and as Lola is a big girl we found their flat was a good size. We went on our holidays with a peace of mind knowing she was going to be well looked after. We are very grateful Monica noticed Lola wasn't peeing during the first 24 hours of her stay, as she becomes anxious around new people and new places and gave her extra walks and kept us updated on her development. In no time, Lola had settled and we got lovely updates of her. We know our dog and the videos showed she was comfortable and happy, showing her goofy personality. When we picked her up, Monica had prepared a bag with all her stuff. Lola was happy and relaxed around them and we knew it had been a good time for her as well. We took her for a walk right after and it was very nice to see her behavior with no setbacks, we think the whole experience of staying with them and Rory helped Lola build trust and confidence.

FAQs for Boarding - Glasgow

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Glasgow on Rover is £32.2 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 940 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Glasgow. Enter your postcode to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
