It was great having Heathers dog, little Daisy there too for a little companion for Gigi, I am sure she is missing her lots. Thanks again to Heather for looking after her so well and putting our minds at ease whilst we were on our family holiday.”

“Koko and his family were absolutely amazing with my Lab, Benny! From the start, Koko was very communitive while setting up the booking. Dropping off I felt like Benny was in really safe hands. Koko kept me updated multiple times a day with messages and photos, which made such a difference and gave me total peace of mind. Benny loved playing with their daughter, and in pics its obvious he loved the entire family as he was smiling in almost every picture. They had a lovely garden Benny was able to run and play ball in. Benny was happy and relaxed when time for pickup and napped several times that day as he had enjoyed their company so much! If you're thinking about booking with Kwok, just do it! Highly recommended!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and have always been comfortable caring for them, walking them, and understanding their different personalities and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I understand how important it is for owners to feel their pets are safe, happy, and well looked after, and I always aim to provide calm, caring, and trustworthy support. I’m happy to follow feeding routines, provide regular walks, playtime, and give pets plenty of attention and care. I’m especially good with friendly family dogs and making pets feel comfortable and relaxed around me. I work Monday to Thursday, so I am available for pet care on Fridays, weekends, and some evenings depending on the time. I can also be flexible with advance notice. I’m happy to help with dog walking, drop-in visits, and pet care during these times, and I will always make sure I plan my schedule properly so I can give pets full attention and reliable care. When caring for pets in an owner’s home, I make sure to follow their usual routine as closely as possible so the pet feels comfortable and secure. I pay attention to feeding times, fresh water, walks, and any specific instructions given. I take a calm and patient approach with animals and always treat them with care and respect. I understand that every pet has their own personality, so I take time to make sure they feel safe and relaxed around me. I am based in North Ayrshire and am reliable, tidy, and respectful when visiting someone’s home. I always aim to provide trustworthy and consistent care so owners feel confident their pets are in good hands.
About: I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life and caring for animals has always come very naturally to me. I previously had my own beloved cat, Pablo, who taught me so much about companionship, patience and the unique personalities animals have. Alongside my experience with dogs and cats, I’ve also worked as an equine therapy co-facilitator, supporting therapeutic work involving horses and people. This gave me a strong understanding of animal behaviour, nervous systems, emotional attunement and creating calm, safe environments, something I bring into the way I care for dogs too. I know how important it is to feel your dog is genuinely cared for whilst you’re away, so I aim to create a relaxed, loving home away from home experience where dogs feel secure, comfortable and included in daily life. I’m naturally calm, patient, attentive and playful and I take time to get to know each dog’s individual needs, routines and personality. I also regularly care for friends’ dogs, so I’m very used to different personalities, routines and needs and I genuinely love having dogs around the home and out on walks. I have a secure garden for dogs to relax and play in, and I’m also very close to both the beach and forest walks, so there are plenty of opportunities for calm nature walks, exploration and outdoor time during their stay. Whether your dog loves adventures, companionship, playtime or cuddles on the sofa, I’ll make sure they feel safe, settled and cared for. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can relax knowing your dog is happy and in good hands. I work Monday-Wednesday in an office but will do walks before and after work. *Please note that before I confirm any booking I ask to have a meet and greet at my house, this is an opportunity for your dog to familiarise themselves with the environment and for all of us to meet to see if we will be a good fit. I work in an office Monday-Wednesday so will do walks before & after work. I work from home on Thursdays and Fridays with lots of flexibility throughout the day for walks, playtime and cuddles. I’m also available over the weekends for boarding. I have a secure fenced garden where dogs can safely relax, play and enjoy outdoor time. I only take a small number of dogs at once so I can give each dog plenty of attention, care and supervision throughout their stay. I understand that every dog has different needs, routines and comfort levels, so I take time to help them settle in gently and feel safe in my home. I’m calm, patient and attentive, and I always prioritise your dog’s wellbeing and emotional comfort. I live close to the beach and forest walks, providing plenty of opportunities for safe, enriching walks in nature. I’m also happy to follow your dog’s usual routines, feeding schedules and any special care instructions to help them feel as settled as possible whilst you’re away

“Jennifer was kind, helpful and efficient at getting back to me, and making quick arrangements for a stay as well as squeezing in a Meet and Greet beforehand. I was impressed with the Meet & Greet, as well as showing us around her home and garden, Jennifer wanted to go for a walk with Digory and ourselves so that she could see firsthand how to handle him. Very reassuring. From the start, it was clear to us that Digory was settled and happy. Regular messages, questions and pictures assured us that he was being carefully and thoughtfully looked after.”

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience! Our dogs loved staying with Hugh and his dog Garvie. They had a brilliant time exploring the garden and enjoyed lovely countryside walks. Hugh sent us daily updates - pictures and videos - about our dogs' adventures and he cared lovingly for our two babies. We thoroughly recommend Hugh!”

“My springer spaniel freddie can be very nervous in new situations and with new people but Anne Marie made him completely comfortable and at home he relaxed instantly. Got updates throughout the week and lots of pictures and videos of freddie having the best time. First time i have left my dog Anne Marie made it such a good expereince.”

“Maisie had a wonderful time! She had the run house and garden, a couple of pals to play with and 2 excellent surrogate parents!! Excellent communication and organisation couldn’t recommend highly enough.”

“Margaret was fantastic with our nervous greyhound, Doddie. We had regular updates and photographs of his walks, which looked amazing in beautiful countryside. Before we left, after meeting Margaret ( with Doddie) at her home , I was confident that he was going to be well looked after. Obviously a caring, genuine dog lover and keen to make our boy relaxed.”

“Our lab had a great time with Jennifer! He's still quite young and this was the longest we'd been away without him, so we loved seeing the photo updates of what he'd been up to. This reassured us he was in great hands. Given the choice I think he'd have stayed longer!”

I have a fenced garden with plenty of place for your dog to run around in. I will send plenty of photos and make sure I'm constantly available if you have any worries.

“Cara took very good care of Kamba, he was clearly happy and wanting to stay for more, I received constant updates which gave me a lot of tranquility. She seems very passionate about caring for animals, I can recommend her services.”

“Ollie stayed with the family for a week. We had good videos every day showing them playing with Ollie and with him bouncing around chasing toys looking very happy. They also showed pictures of them walking Ollie. Ollie was well looked after and we would use them again.”

About: I've had animals my whole life, dogs, cats, small furries & birds. at the moment I have a boxer, ragdoll kitty, tortoise & 2 rats. Your pet will be treated with the same care & love as my own. I want your pets to see me as a friend they love to see, so as much info about what they like as you can give will be appreciated. I'm an auxiliary nurse, working part time, happy to care for pets on my days off, I can be flexible if you need late drop ins etc. I can't offer holiday boarding as I still work part time, but can accommodate 1-2 nights when I'm off, for short trips away, family emergencies etc, or drop in visits if that suits your pet... I have a fenced garden & a friendly dog to keep your dog company, I also have an elderly cat, so any pets would have to be cat friendly.

Sammy has come home from Ching’s a super tired boy! He had so much fun on his week’s stay with Ching & her husband. They were both amazing with Sammy. Really communicative, daily photo uploads to show us how he was getting on & settling as we were nervous due to never boarding him before. They really put our minds at ease & really catered to Sammy’s high energy, breed specific needs. We will absolutely be using Ching again in the future! Thank you so much for taking such good care of our boy ❤️

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
