“Absolutely 5 star! Claire has been so great with Sparkle and very accommodating. Sparkle was instantly settled in Claire's company and Claire is clearly very competent and experienced in pet care. She kept me informed and provided reassurance which was so helpful. Booked again as soon happy with Claire's service. Thank you so much! ✨✨✨✨✨”

About: I’ve experience of looking after cats having had my own cat for over 10 years who sadly passed away 2 years ago. I enjoy looking after my mums ragdoll when needed. I live in a flat on my own so your cat will have a nice peaceful home while I’m looking after them with lots of attention and cuddles should they want that (I know how cats can need their own space at times) - much like myself! I work as a therapist and I’m in the office Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9-5. I will be working at home Wednesday and Friday then available most weekends. I live in a top floor flat on my own so your cat would have plenty of peace and quiet. I ensure that I do not have any windows open when I am cat sitting to ensure safety. It’s a spacious and bright flat so plenty of space for the cat to roam about in and have some natural sunlight. No other pets will be in the property.

About: I have experience walking dogs and taking care of and feeding both dogs and rabbits. My family have had a dog for 6 years now and I often take her on walks by myself and am trusted to feed her and look after her overnight sometimes. We also used to have rabbits so I am used to cleaning out hutches and feeding smaller animals too. I'm a University student looking to fit in animal-care around my busy term-time schedule. Weekends and holidays I tend to have lots of availability, whilst weekday evenings also work. At home, my dog is treated as part of our family and I am very familiar with how to look after pets safely, ensuring that they are never in harm's way. However, I am also aware that each owner will have different expectations and house rules so I am willing to be flexible in my approach to suit each individual pet.

“Liv and JJ are the absolute best! We felt very safe and comfortable leaving Ferdinand in their care. They had great communication and were quick to respond when we had questions. Couldn’t recommend them more, will absolutely be booking with them again when we go away next!”

“Zesna is amazing. My cat adores her and she literally eats out of zesna's hand. As well as looking after candy whilst I was away, zesna trimmed her fur balls which I was having a real problem addressing. I came home to the most chilled out relaxed cat ever. I trust zesna 100 percent. Thank you so much for looking after candy so well zesna. We are lucky to have found you xxxx”

“Sarah was an amazing pet sitter! She took care of our cat Kevin with so much love and attention. We could tell he felt safe and happy in her care. She kept us updated with photos and messages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We’re truly grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to ask for her help again! Thank you so much Sarah! :)”

“Fantastic as always! From the photos and notes left on the Rover card, Daisy is so relaxed and happy, which gives me peace of mind while I’m out for the day, and is uncommon for Daisy who can be a little nervous with new people.”

About: I’ve been walking and caring for dogs for ages. I’ve also worked at an animal rights charity since 2015 because animals have a huge place in my heart and I care deeply for their well-being. If I see a dog at a restaurant or venue who doesn’t have a water dish, I’ll always get them one. I have so much empathy for animals it hurts. With me, your dog will get long walks, lots of attention, and be well cared for and engaged. I take them with me everywhere they can come and make sure they get their own dedicated walks and sniffing time. At home, they get as many cuddles as they want - I always read their cues and follow their lead. I make sure they always have a full water dish, are fed on time, and I can give them medicine, if needed. If dogs like being pet, scratched, or massaged, that's what they get from me until my hands fall off. My flat has a nice size shared garden in the back that gets lots of sunlight, and it’s fenced in. I work from home 9 to 5 Monday to Friday so it’s flexible. I take them out 5 times a day starting at 7:30am and ending at 10pm. I have them settled for sleep by 10:30. In the evenings I go to the gym at 5:30 and am away for about 90 mins total, unless otherwise specified. I leave the music on for them, softly. Other than that I’m with the dog the whole time. I’m very close to lots of green spaces including St Marks park, Eyre st park, and some gorgeous trails. Aside from garden breaks, I do one to two big walks, depending if they pull or can go off lead. My flat has a fenced in garden so we visit frequently and I never have them go more than 4 hours without a potty break. I’m very happy to send you updates however frequently you like. I usually do one midday and another in the evening, but can tailor it depending on length of their stay and your preference.

About: I’ve taken care of friends and family dogs and cats previously and have helped raise and train my flat mates puppy. I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays so can be flexible (including weekends). I have a small ground floor flat but able to provide toilet breaks as much as needed and walks before and after work and at lunch time if needed! I currently work full time - Tuesdays and Fridays from home. 9-5 Monday to Friday and will be available on some weekends too! When I work from home i am able to provide toilet breaks whenever needed and time outside/ walks before and after work and also on my lunch hour! Can be flexible - I sometimes dog sit for friends when they are in the office. I have a secure ground floor flat next to a safe walk way. I am also next to a lot of green space and there are many routes away from main roads.

About: I am an aspiring vet who really loves pets! I had a rottie when I was 8 and learnt to take care of dogs since then. I love both dogs and cats and the company they provide. I would love to take care of your fur babies whenever I am free. I’m from warm sunny Malaysia and am currently a vet student here in Edinburgh! I am mostly at home if I don’t have classes and do all my studying at home too. Our course load can be busy so I don’t go out very often. I will try to always be with your pets, and ensure that no mess is around when they are out of sight of me. Feeding on time is very important and I am happy to walk them when needed.
“Matthew drops in to see my two excitable Staffies every week. He is very good at dealing with their exuberant natures, and follows our instructions to the letter. He leaves very happy dogs on his way out.”

“Cats were happy and well looked after with Nicollette! She played with them, put on relaxing cat music for them and made sure all their needs were met. I would recommend Nicollette, you can definitely trust her with your pets. ”

About: For the last 19 years of my life dogs have been an important part of it. They are not “ just animals” for me, they are family, dogs are living creatures deserving of love, care and respect. I have experience with small to medium big dogs. Ive had taken care of puppys to senior dogs. I know how to walk them, give medicine if needed. My schedule at the moment is mostly free on weekends (fri -sun) for drop ins or long walks, also can take care of them on weekends if needed requested in advance. I currently live in a flat so i could potentially take care of small sized dogs here but happy to watch out for bigger in their own homes.
About: Hi! I'm a lifelong dog lover with over 15 years of experience caring for dogs. I got my first dog when I was 11 years old and was actively involved in their daily care, including walks, feeding, playtime, training, and companionship. I currently have a 10-month-old puppy, so I'm very familiar with the energy, patience, and consistency that young dogs need. I also have experience pet sitting for friends, including overnight stays, daily walks, feeding routines, and providing plenty of attention while owners are away. I live in the city centre of Edinburgh, near the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links, making me a great option for both local owners and visitors. Whether you're heading away on holiday, exploring the city for the day, attending an event, or simply need some time for yourself, I'd be happy to care for your dog and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after. I specialise in puppies and small to medium-sized dogs and have experience caring for dogs with a variety of personalities, from shy and nervous dogs who need a calm approach to energetic pups who love plenty of exercise and play. I always aim to follow each owner's routine, preferences, and training methods as closely as possible to help dogs feel comfortable and secure while in my care. I'm comfortable administering basic medications when required and can adapt to your dog's individual needs. I know the local area well and have access to plenty of great walking routes and parks, providing lots of opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and fun. My home is a safe, puppy-proofed environment where your pet will receive plenty of attention, affection, and supervision. I also understand how important it is for owners to stay connected while they're away, so I'm happy to provide regular photo and video updates for complete peace of mind. As I currently have full availability, I can be flexible with bookings and accommodate a wide range of schedules. My goal is to provide every dog with a home-away-from-home experience and care for them as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. As I'm currently taking a break from work, I have a very flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time and attention to the dogs in my care. My own 10-month-old puppy already keeps me active with regular walks, playtime, training, and enrichment activities throughout the day. This flexibility allows me to adapt to each dog's individual needs, whether that's multiple walks, maintaining a specific routine, providing companionship throughout the day, or accommodating early drop-offs and later pick-ups. I enjoy spending time with dogs and can ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care rather than being left alone for long periods. When caring for pets in my home, I aim to make them feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. I provide a safe, dog-friendly environment where they can settle in, play, rest, and receive plenty of attention throughout the day. I follow each owner's instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, exercise requirements, medication needs, house rules, and any training routines already in place. I understand that every dog is different, so I adapt my approach to suit their personality and needs, whether they're energetic and playful or prefer a calmer environment. Dogs in my care receive regular walks, playtime, mental stimulation, and lots of companionship. As I am home most of the time, they won't be left alone for extended periods and can enjoy consistent supervision and interaction. I also provide regular photo and video updates so owners can see how their pet is getting on and have peace of mind while they're away. My goal is to give every dog a safe, happy, home-away-from-home experience and care for them as if they were my own.
“Rebecca is amazing! My cats loved her immediately, and she did a wonderful job checking on on them and sending some killer photos. I felt absolutely secure going on vacation and leaving my 2 fur children in her care. She's awesome, please reach out and hire her if you need a pet sitter (specifically a cat sitter)!”

“Dylan was fantastic and we came back to a happy, content cat. Dylan gave us regular updates and tidied, cleaned the litter tray and took the bin out before we arrived home. Thank you for taking such good care of our wee guy! ”

Christina was absolutely fantastic with our dogs. We felt completely at ease knowing they were in such good hands, and she kept us updated throughout, which was really reassuring. Our dogs are newly adopted, so it meant a lot to know they were comfortable and settled around her. We’d happily use Christina’s services again and would definitely recommend her to others.

Claire is the perfect pet sitter! Sparkle was instantly relaxed in her company and she has a lovely friendly personality. She kept us up to date with photos and messages during the visit. Always responsive and very trustworthy. Five star all round...thank you Claire! ✨✨✨✨✨

Sabah was absolutely lovely with Bruno! 😊 She took great care of him, followed his routine and all his needs, and kept me updated with messages and photos, which made me feel very reassured. Bruno was so happy and comfortable with her, and I could tell he really enjoyed spending time with her. Bruno needs a bit of extra attention during walks, and Sabah handled everything perfectly. I would definitely recommend her and would be very happy to book with her again!

We had Daria visit our dogs in an Air bnb on our wedding day. Emotions were high and my mind was going a million times an hour (as can be expected on your wedding day!) but thankfully worrying about the dogs was not one of them thanks to Daria. I have never put my dog into kennels or ever used a sitter before, but rover was recommended to us by a family friend. Daria was amazing! She came to the house the day before to meet the dogs and go over their routine. We had great communication from Daria through out her visits and pictures which put my mind at ease and allowed me to really enjoy our day. Would highly recommend and would use again when we’re back in Edinburgh. Thank you Daria!! Emma x

Annie has been absolutely fantastic with our dog Jazz. Jazz is quite shy and anxious about new people, but Annie has been so patient and gentle with her, she’s really taken the time to build up trust with Jazz. Annie is always very responsive, and gives detailed updates about her visits. We’ll definitely trust Annie to look after Jazz again.

I can’t recommend Elizabeth enough. This was our first time using Rover, and it couldn’t have been a better experience. Elizabeth was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared so much about our dogs. She kept us updated throughout the visit, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It made such a difference knowing our dog was in safe and caring hands. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
