About: I always grew up with pets, particularly dogs. I often pet sit for family members and I am starting my house/pet sitting journey with my partner. We have now been house sitting and dog sitting in a few areas of the UK and love it! I’m comfortable with cats and dogs and truly love being around animals. We have experience with several different breeds from terriers, to spaniels, to labs, and lots of rescues! We love getting to know their individual quirks! We have experience with dogs of all ages from puppies to the sweetest senior dogs, and try to keep on top of training and their routines when they stay! We have many neighbourhood cats that I’ve bonded with. Having a wfh job, I’d love to be getting more steps in and would be happy to bring your dog along! My partner Sam also works from home as a senior designer so he will be present for house sits, boarding and walks! He loves animals just as much as me and it’s something we love to do together. I’m a full time therapist in the NHS, and work from home 3 days a week. Having a desk job I would love to be more active, and what better way than keeping up with a dog! I’d be available to walk through the week and the weekend. I am respectful and clean and would always prioritise keeping your pets safe and in their routine, with lots of affection too! I’m happy to communicate regularly with updates for peace of mind too
About: I have experience taking care of both cats and dogs. I myself have a cat which I care for by myself so I'm confident that I'm reliable and responsible to be a good pet-sitter. I'm a full time university student but I don't spend that much time outside so pet sitting and dog walking are an amazing time to be more active while I'm doing things I love and helping people out! That said, if I don't have a lecture planned, I'm more than happy to meet your pets! I live in a complex with CCTV security and two locks. There's a small fence around the garden and regular check ins from the agency

About: I have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember and been around them since day 1. I am an animal management graduate who has been around a multitude of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, fish and exotics. I also have experience working with larger animals such as farm animals and horses. I have some experience working in a pet store, a petting zoo and horse riding school. I am also currently teaching myself to do basic dog grooms with an aim of going back to school to earn certification in dog grooming. Currently, I have 2 cats, a male named Stanley and a female named Stella who are my whole life. I also regularly visit my parents who have 4 cats (2 of which are Stella's brothers), 2 Pugs, a Cocker x Springer Spaniel, 2 rabbits, an African Grey and a Horsefield tortoise, so I do have regular contact with other animals and am always excited to meet new ones. I am currently self-employed so am typically available for any requests and enquiries except for Sundays. I will always try my best to stick to your typical schedule/routine in order to keep your family as happy and comfortable as possible. The safety of your pet, home and yourself is of the utmost importance to me. I am DBS checked for your peace of mind as well as having insurance. Upon our initial meet and greet, I aim to take as much information about your pet and routine as possible so that I can get an idea of their character and needs to better create a plan that suits all involved. In regards to dog walks, you can opt to use your own leads or one of mine, however, please note that due to the safety issues associated with them, I do not use retractable leads.
“This was our second time using Phoebe to cat sit for us. She always turns up on time, did everything we asked and gave our cats plenty of love and attention. Gave us peace of mind that they were well looked after while we were away. Would definitely book Phoebe again.”

“Great communication and reliability from Lettie. Felt very confident leaving Ruby knowing that Lettie was going to pop in and keep her company. Will definitely use Lettie again - returned to a happy and settled hound. Thanks Lettie!”

“Naomi was able to help us out with our 12 week old puppy today. We booked with less than 48hr notice and she was brilliant. Pablo loved her and we got some awesome puppy pics! Thank you!”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Newcastle upon Tyne
Ruth did a meet & greet and following this, came to look after our little pooch on short notice. Super communication at every step of the process and also sent photos and updates during the visit + a check in afterwards. I came back to a very happy doggy after they had lots of play time together! Highly recommend, your doggie will be in very safe hands with Ruth!

We were very impressed by Aviral and G. They came to meet Lochie before the drop in visits and listened to everything we told them about him. They took the introductions at his pace and everything went smoothly. We got lots of updates & it looked like Lochie was having a great time. We would highly recommend them and will be asking them to look after Lochie again. Thank you!

Tara was amazing with our dog today and was really flexible in organising multiple short drop ins while we were at work. Tara spent lots of time playing with our very energetic pup and then made sure she settled down properly before putting her back to bed for a nap. We got lots of updates and pics during her drop ins which were really appreciated - would highly recommend Tara!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
