“This is crumpets 4th stay with Michaela and Dave and we have another stay booked. Thank you for taking such good care of our girl. It is very reassuring knowing that she is in such good hands”

“I don’t even know where to start, I genuinely couldn’t have wished for a more caring and loving person to look after my boy 🥹♥️. He’s a very high energy working cocker and she had him sleeping on the sofa within the first few hours. She took him on so many amazing adventures and he had loads of different experiences that I really doubt he wants to be home! From the first meeting she had a mini interview where she asked me absolutely everything about Pickle. What he likes, what each command means, his favourite toys, treats, you name it. From that moment I knew he was going to be in good hands 🥰 I would take him back to Julie in a heartbeat, I’ve never felt relaxed leaving him with anyone and now finally I feel I can enjoy having time away for the first time since having Pickle ♥️🥒”

“I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Rory🩷 From the moment I dropped her off, Beth made me feel completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout Rory’s stay with lots of photos and videos, which meant so much to me and really put my mind at rest. It was obvious from every update just how happy, relaxed and well looked after Rory was. Rory has had the best time, and it’s clear she treated Rory like her own. You can tell Beth genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and that made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Rory with Beth again, and I know Rory will be excited to go back!🥺 Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my girl. I couldn’t recommend you highly enough❤️”

“Caitlin and Max were brilliant with Ralph. We had an initial meet up where they invited us round to see their house and garden. We could tell straight away Ralph was going to be in a safe pair of hands and really loved Ralph. We’ll definitely use them again 😃”

“Absolutely brilliant. Cannot fault him at all. Was worried about leaving my dog as he’s not stayed with anyone but family before. I had nothing to worry about, Matthew was brilliant with him. Lots of updates to keep me from worrying. Ralfie enjoyed his holiday at Matthew’s house.”

“Jake was an excellent sitter and so kind too. We had to find somewhere for saffy to go whilst my partner was in hospital giving birth. Jake was so good, he listened to instructions, he fed her properly, he was so flexible and he even gave us a gift to congratulate us on the birth of our son. Will definitely be using Jake again. Thanks Jake.”

“Yvonne and David were amazing again! So great with our boys, taking them on adventures and putting up with their 'quirks'. Such a great feeling to be able to go away and not worry at all.”

“Mack had a great time after being looked after by Amy for a week. While we were away Amy kept us informed with messages and pictures.. we were totally at ease. When we collected him I'm not sure if he wanted to come home .. but he did and slept and snored after being totally worn out. Thanks again Amy”

“I can't express how happy I am with how well Mabel has been looked after, she's been on some brilliant long walks and was even clean and showered afterwards! She's had a brilliant time and she can't wait for her next stay!”

“My dog clearly had an absolutely lovely time - Sophie was flexible and kept in contact, and gave me a good update on how the dog had been. Would very happily use again ⭐”

“Anna and Jorge were extremely accommodating for our 2 year Labrador Bea. Bea can be a bit nervous around new people but they agreed to a meet and greet, walk, and a trial night beforehand so we could make sure Bea was as comfortable as she could be. This was very much appreciated by her pawrents! They also provided regular updates by photos and video.”

“Pete is absolutely brilliant and a natural with dogs. This is the first time we have left our dog overnight and we were nervous on how he would settle. Our worries immediately disappeared as Pete welcomed Eddie warmly and he bonded with him straight away. He has a lovely house and garden and Eddie enjoyed spending time there and also going on walks. Thank you for a great time Pete!”

“Rocco had a great stay with Harry and Jade - I am always wary of leaving him as he is a big strong dog and needs plenty of care, however I was instantly put at ease and knew he was in safe hands after meeting Harry and Jade. I received updates and photos throughout the visit and would be more than happy for Rocco to visit again 10/10”

About: Dogs have been part of family life for many years. Rescued two of my own, who I’ve trained and helped adapt to a new world. I’m DBS checked and have also attained an advanced security clearance for my employment. My time is enriched by my pups and making life a happy and fulfilling experience is my goal. I work from home full time, with one trip monthly to London. Walks throughout the day and lots of time for cuddles and attention. Weekends are for fun trips and dog walks. I have a fenced garden, plenty of toys and beds, and my two pups will keep your dog company while you’re away. My two sleep with me, so no problem if your pup wants to sleep in my bed too, or happy to crate to fit their routine.
“Lauren was very accommodating especially with my loose timeframes which was very helpful and very much appreciated! Ralphy had a good stay and got to interact with another dog which definitely helped his own anxiety of being left! Lauren helped my own anxiety by sending updates over text and was super nice throughout! Would hugely recommend to everyone 😁”

“Emily took the best care simba. She was great at communicating prior and during the stay. Simba went on all sorts of adventures and Emily went the extra mile to protect Simba during the heatwave! When I picked him up I could tell he didn’t want to leave. I would recommended Emily as a dog sitter to anyone, and will be asking for her services again in the future. Thank you so much!”

Jake looked after our little long-haired Chihuahua for two nights while we got married, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier. 🤍🐾 Knowing he was being so well looked after meant we could completely relax and enjoy our wedding without worrying about him. Jake was absolutely fab with him, and it was clear he was happy and comfortable in his care. We’d 100% trust Jake to look after him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring and genuinely great with dogs. 🐶💕

Christina’s nephew Panos who was helping her during Coco’s stay did a fantastic job of looking after her. He was super kind and caring and sent frequent updates during her stay to let us know how she was getting on. We did a meet and greet ahead to ensure Coco got on well with Apollo (Christina’s lovely, amiable, black lab) which she did, and so it was also lovely to know and see she had great doggy company too. Thanks for taking good care of our Coco. 👍🏻🙏🏻

Beth was amazing!! We are usually so nervous leaving our two dachshunds as they are our babies and it can be challenging finding someone who can handle them as they can be barky and territorial. Beth kept us completely calm and reassured, she sent numerous picture updates each day of the boys enjoying their walks to the beach, park and cafes, socialising them with other sausage dogs and cuddling them lots. We couldn’t have asked for a better level of care, Beth was fantastic with our babies.

Lauren looked after our Jim for 2 nights for his first visit, she sent us regular updates with messages and pictures to show how he was getting on. This was Jim’s first time away from us and we felt really confident leaving him with Lauren, as the updates showed how loved and looked after Jim was. Booked in again already, thanks Lauren!

Copper and Ginny stayed for two weeks, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier with the care they received. From the very beginning, they took the time to get to know the dogs with a pre-stay visit and made notes about their individual routines and schedules. This really showed how kind, considerate and attentive they were. They made Copper and Ginny feel completely at home — it really was a home from home for them. It was lovely to receive regular updates while we were away, which gave us great peace of mind and was very much appreciated. Most importantly, the dogs came home very happy and clearly enjoyed their time with them. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Copper and Ginny! 🐾
Jessica and her partner were amazing with our dog Peanut once again! This was the longest I’ve ever been away from him, so it was incredibly reassuring to receive regular updates and photos of him having the best time. It was so lovely to see how happy and well looked after he was, and knowing he was in such caring hands made being away from him so much easier. Thank you both so much for taking such great care of Peanut. We really appreciate everything you did and will 100% be using Jessica again! 🐾❤️

Rebecca has been absolutely amazing! From our first meeting where she gave us all the information we needed we knew Aston would be in great hands. Communication was brilliant with daily pupdates on how Aston was getting on and pictures of his walks and antics. Special thank you for being so accommodating!

would of given 6 stars . Deborah was fantastic and would definetly book her again. Our dog Tyler is 12 years old and never stayed with a sitter before. Deborah came to meet tyler beforehand and collected him on the day he was staying with her . Deborah sent us a couple of videos of Tyler settling in which was very reassuring and brought him back to us the next day which was very helpful. would 100% recommend Deborah to look after my pet . She was fantastic and lovely lady

We were very happy to leave our dog, Charlie, in Barbara's capable hands while we attended a family wedding nearby. Barbara clearly knows her stuff when it comes to dogs and she knew exactly what Charlie needed from the moment he arrived. It was great to receive a message from her letting us know how Charlie was getting on, reassuring us that he was fine. If we are ever in need of a Newcastle based dog-sitter again, we will definitely be contacting Barbara.

My 2 dogs had a wonderful time with Benjamin! They came home with bright eyes and very waggy tails which is always a give away. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my dogs again with Benjamin. Loved the photos he sent us too as they were snuggled up on his lap. Thanks again, they will definitely be back to see you

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
