“Absolutely brilliant !! Really sweet and caring personality and Mochi my Maltipoo enjoy the stay with her family. Mochi gets lots tummy rubs and cuddles from her girls too which Mochi absolutely loves. I also get lots pictures of Mochi everyday from her.”

“Louise was great with Milo, she was a saviour as I needed a sitter at the very last minute! She was great for updating us throughout the stay, not to mention, this was Milo’s first time away from both of us so it was really comforting to get regular updates. Would definitely recommend Louise to other pet owners!”

“We were visiting the area from down South for a wedding and arranged the stay well in advance. Gabe was very helpful and communicative throughout. Our 8 month old puppy had a wonderful time and got all the exercise, enrichment, attention and space she needed. She got on well with Gabe's lovely dog, Lyra. Gabe sent us updates and photos and we had complete peace of mind about Zelda staying there. 100% recommend!”

“On his first ever stay away from his family, Obi was very well looked after by Ros and Charles and seemed to be very happy spending time with them in their lovely home and garden. Ros and Charles certainly made us feel at ease and comforted that our precious pet would be cared for. We would not hesitate to have Obi stay with Ros and Charles again and already have his next little holiday booked in with them.”

“Kim was absolutely brilliant with Missy, very professional but also friendly and caring. Missy is usually anxious in unfamiliar places, but she was settled and relaxed all the time she was at Kim's and got on well with her dogs. I got lots of updates and photos, which was reassuring and would have no hesitation in recommending Kim and have already booked her for a future boarding.”

“Rachel is a great dog sitter ! I highly recommend her. I’ve left Eddie with her for 5 days and got daily updates from Eddie with pics and Eddie was really well taken care of. Will definitely use her services again!”

“Gabrielle looked after our puppy, Chester, and we were very happy with the whole experience. Good communication throughout including photos and updates while we were away, and a very happy pup when we picked him up.”

About: I've always enjoyed spending time with dogs and have experience caring for both my parents' dog, Wilf and my boss's dog, Marty. I've looked after Marty for multiple days at a time, providing feeding, walks, playtime and comfort while his owners were away. I understand how important it is for owners to know their dog is happy, safe, and well cared for, so I make sure to follow their usual routine and provide regular updates. Every dog has their own personality and needs, and I enjoy getting to know them and helping them feel comfortable and settled. Living just a couple of minutes from Jesmond Dene and close to Heaton Park means I can offer dogs plenty of exercise and opportunities to explore some of Newcastle's best walking routes. I work from home two days a week, which gives me flexibility to provide dog walking, drop-in visits throughout the day and at weekends. Whether your dog needs a lunchtime walk, company during the day, or overnight care, I can work around their usual routine to ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise and affection. I aim to keep schedules as consistent as possible to help dogs feel relaxed and secure. Your dog's safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. Before any booking, I like to learn about their routine, personality, exercise needs and any special requirements so I can provide care that's tailored to them. My home has a secure fenced garden for supervised outdoor time and I'm located just two minutes from Jesmond Dene, with Heaton Park also nearby, providing access to fantastic walking routes and green spaces. When caring for dogs, I follow instructions closely, maintain your pet's usual routines, and ensure they always have access to fresh water, exercise and a comfortable environment. I'll also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you're away.
“Beth took great care of Zeke overnight, sending lots of pictures and responding quickly to my messages. Zeke came home happy, so I highly recommend Beth and will use her again. She was attentive to Zeke's needs and made sure he was well-fed and comfortable. Thankyou very much for taking care of my not to little puppy :)”
“Doris and her family looked after Millie really well with at least two walks a day, and playing ball with Millie in their garden. Doris gave us daily updates including photos which gave us a good picture of Millie’s day and the reassurance that she was being well cared for. I wound certainly recommend her very highly.”

“Murphy had a fabulous home from home experience this week. Judith has a lovely friendly personality that put us at ease instantly. We highly recommend her to everyone. We are already booked in for another week later in the year. 5 stars from us. Paul & Karen”

About: I grew up with Dobermans and at one point we had three in the house. I love dogs and regularly look after my friends pets both sitting and walking. Had experience of dog training, both small and bigs breads, from a border terrier to a German shepherd. Happy to go on adventurous walks, or a walk round the block and open my home up for sitting too. I work full time but have every other Friday off and can work flexibly from home for 2 days a week. I am more available at weekends however can adjust my work from home days to sit around the weekend for longer sitting opportunities. Dog walking can be before work, after work or during a lunch time on a WFH day and weekends any time. I have no pets of my own just yet. I have a garden at my home, 3 bed house with plenty of space and space downstairs for dog beds, crates or whatever is required. I am super respectful and will always follow the dog owners wishes for caring for their dog.
“We’ve just collected our dog from a weeks stay with Tracey and Stu. Can’t thank them both enough for putting our minds at rest, enabling us to enjoy a week abroad. We received regular update's, with photos and videos of her and she was very happy with them being spoilt. Nothing was a problem for them both with Betsy still being young and has a lot of energy. We will definitely be using them again. Thank you both again.”

“Alla took lovely care of our dog Olive. Olive is an older, reactive dog and I was worried about leaving her but Alla took great care of her. And took the most beautiful photos of her too. We will definitely rebook.”

“Lauren is so lovely. Loca was relaxed with her from the start which was so reassuring for us. Nothing was a bother and Loca was shattered when she got home, which for her is a sign of lots of fun during her stay! Thank you Lauren, Loca’s next weekend with you is already in the diary 🥰”

About: As a family we have been responsible owners for numerous pets. We lost our cat Woody around 9 years ago, and very recently lost our beautiful Akita Luca. We had Luca from a puppy, for 14 years. I have been brought up with dogs large and small, and have experience training multiple breeds. We provide a loving family environment where the dogs we care for get the true "Dogs Life" treatment. We live 2 minutes from lots of tracks and fields, perfect for dogs that like to stretch their legs. We are used to on leash dogs, and take 0 risks when it comes to walks and meeting other pups. We also have experience with senior dogs with health issues. We currently work from home, and have time during the day for dog walks and play time. We have an open house which the pups we look after have rule over. They can curl up with us for work, and we can take regular breaks for toilet walks, and longer walks once our day is over. Around 4pm. We can fit long walks in on an evening, and I visit the beach every night for a swim, the doggies are welcome to come and get a swim in too if thats what you want! Weekdays we are tied up a little during the day, but weekends our time is your dogs time! We have space for a bed if they need to stay over, or as long as they are clean, can jump up with us. We have a large fenced garden, and miles and miles of tracks and fields around us. Our furry friends can play until their heart is content, or relax in the sunshine on the patio. I can provide basic training, leash training, recall, sit / stay etc.

My 4 month old puppy Toby had a perfect stay with Yvonne and her husband. Yvonne kept in touch regularly with photos and updates about how Toby was getting on, and I could tell he was being really well looked after. Yvonne took consideration of Toby’s routine at home and implemented this into his stay with her. He had a great time playing with her dog Isla and it was really reassuring to know he was having fun and being taken care of so well. I would highly recommend Yvonne to look after your dog!🐾🩵

Connie is absolutely lovely and very helpful with the whole process. She made sure there wouldn't be any issues with both our dogs. Marnie is such a sweet dog. We received plenty of communication to ease our minds as well as lots of photos to show how well Sunnie was settling in. I can tell she had an amazing time and would be happy to have her stay again x

Jessica looked after Bella for an overnight stay and kept me updated while I was travelling to my daughter’s graduation. She sent pictures to show me how Bella quickly settled down in her house. I was really pleased and I managed to relax and enjoyed my daughter’s special day. Thank you again Jessica. I will book again if I need to in the future. Lydia M.

Rebecca was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend her enough. She was very thorough in the meet and greet and asked lots of questions about Maisie’s care. She allowed me to view her home so I could see where Maisie would be staying and Maisie fell in love with the garden and their wonderful dog. Throughout the booking I have received lots of updates with messages, photos and videos. I have never left Maisie before in a kennel or a strangers home so this was something I was nervous about. However, I felt at ease straight away seeing how comfortable and happy she looked. Seems like Maisie has found a second home! Cannot thank you enough!

Jessica Thank you for taking such good care of Arlo, he skipped into your house when dropped off and he was so well looked after with lovely walks and cuddles. Will definitely use you again and would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family. Best regards Kevin & Family

If you’re anxious about leaving your dog with a sitter, Lauren and Ross are the way to go! We had a lovely meet and greet then a trial day with regular updates and pics; and they clearly love just having dogs around and do everything make them (and you!) comfortable. Definitely found our regular sitter we’ve been looking for🥰

Anna and Jorge were extremely accommodating for our 2 year Labrador Bea. Bea can be a bit nervous around new people but they agreed to a meet and greet, walk, and a trial night beforehand so we could make sure Bea was as comfortable as she could be. This was very much appreciated by her pawrents! They also provided regular updates by photos and video.

I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Rory🩷 From the moment I dropped her off, Beth made me feel completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout Rory’s stay with lots of photos and videos, which meant so much to me and really put my mind at rest. It was obvious from every update just how happy, relaxed and well looked after Rory was. Rory has had the best time, and it’s clear she treated Rory like her own. You can tell Beth genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after, and that made all the difference. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Rory with Beth again, and I know Rory will be excited to go back!🥺 Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of my girl. I couldn’t recommend you highly enough❤️

We booked our dog Lucy in with Phoebe for two nights, while we attended our daughter’s graduation. All our communications with Phoebe, ahead of the booking and over the two day stay, were excellent. She was clear, understanding and genuinely interested in getting to know our dog. She looked after our dog perfectly, and we would have no hesitation in asking her to look after Lucy again. Phoebe is a lovely, warm and friendly person. Highly recommended.

This is the first time we have left Rodney with someone who wasn’t a family member and Kerry made us feel at ease straight away. We met up prior to the stay where Rodney and ourselves had a chance to meet Kerry and her partner. We had regular photo updates and Rodney seemed to settle in very quickly. We could not recommend her enough and will most definitely be using Kerry again!

Toby enjoyed his stay with Natasha, he is normally quite a sensitive dog and goes off his food when he’s not with us but he ate his food every night so he obviously felt comfortable. Natasha was very communicative leading up to the booking and even let us do a little meet and greet at her house before hand so that we all felt comfortable.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
