“Doris and her family did a fantastic job caring for Reggie this week. We got lots of updates and photos. I think Reggie has been really well looked after and welcomed into their family. No issues at all. Would defo book again!”

“Highly recommend – a fantastic first experience with Rover! As first-time Rover users, we couldn't have asked for a better experience with Laura, Leandro, and Sindy. We needed to find a dog sitter at very short notice for eight days, and the whole process was incredibly easy from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout. They took the time to discuss Cheddar's needs before we left and kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which immediately put us at ease during what could have been a very nerve-racking time. Cheddar had an amazing time, with plenty of play, care, and attention. It was clear she was treated like one of the family. We honestly think she's been missing Sindy since we got home! We wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable dog sitters.”

“Anna and her family watched Ella for 3 nights, and Ella felt right at home straight away. We met up in advance ahead of the booking to make sure it was a good match, and Anna’s kind nature and her very well behaved little boy Marco made me feel right at ease. I knew Ella would have the best time there. And from the pictures shared I can tell she did :-) I have already booked in for next time!”

“Judith was amazing. At very short notice looked after Amber. Gave regular updates. Amber seemed to think it was her home from home. I think she had a great time. We will definitely be using Judith again.”

“Absolutely brilliant !! Really sweet and caring personality and Mochi my Maltipoo enjoy the stay with her family. Mochi gets lots tummy rubs and cuddles from her girls too which Mochi absolutely loves. I also get lots pictures of Mochi everyday from her.”

“Our anxious little rescue dog was in such good hands with Anna. They bonded really well and it allowed us to feel relaxed and enjoy our weekend away. We really appreciated the pictures and updates. Highly recommend”

“Would highly recommend Barbara. Lovely lady. She clearly loves dogs and took care of ours very well. Would have no hesitation recommending her to anyone. A safe pair of hands!”

About: I have been surrounded by dogs my whole life growing up with, looking after and training two Labradors who have both been anxious with other dogs. I am a friendly individual who will make sure that dogs feel safe and comfortable while on walks and in my home. I am highly capable of looking after both young and old, small and big dogs and will cater to each and every need:) I have just finished my final year of university and am staying in Newcastle for two more months so have plenty of free days. I love going on walks and getting out of the house and would love to be a new (second) best friend for your pet! I live in a maisonette where we have looked after dogs on three separate occasions with sufficient space in the living room and easy access to a nearby park. I will ensure that there are no harmful and chewable objects around. There are no other dogs in this house so my full attention will be given to your pet:)

About: I have had pets since I was a baby. This includes rabbits, hamsters, kittens and dogs. I absolutely love animals of every kind and caring for them 🥰 I do have a puppy of my own called Lola (cockapoo) who is a year old and is the most friendly and loving baby who loves cats and dogs. I also have a kitten called Ollie who is such a friendly and sociable kitty. I am more than happy to separate Lola if you have a cat who needs looking after as well though so they aren’t scared🥰 I am currently at university but I’m finished for the summer so I have lots of time to look after your baby’s. I am able to walk them however many times a day you would like as well as feed them and just give them cuddles and attention. This is a very loving family where pets are allowed in every room of the house as well as furniture and in the garden which is completely fenced off with a locked door so they can’t get out at all. I have a puppy and cat who love each other and other animals as they are very social and loving☺️
“Csilla is absolutely wonderful. She is very experienced and has a calm energy which any dog would respond well to. My anxious (rescue) Chihuahua was instantly comfortable at the meet and greet and came home from his overnight stay happy and relaxed. I’m delighted and my dog is already looking forward to a week’s holiday with Csilla.”

“Lauren was very accommodating especially with my loose timeframes which was very helpful and very much appreciated! Ralphy had a good stay and got to interact with another dog which definitely helped his own anxiety of being left! Lauren helped my own anxiety by sending updates over text and was super nice throughout! Would hugely recommend to everyone 😁”

“We booked Lola in with Chrysi for 3 days, before she stayed over Chrysi invited us to her home for a chance to meet and for her to meet Lola. When we dropped Lola off to stay, she ran in and made herself comfortable straight away. Chrysi provided us with pictures and videos throughout Lola’s stay. We will definitely use Chrysi again and we know Lola would happily stay again too!”

“I was very happy with Millie’s stay with Louise. She sent me pictures of her every day and Millie was obviously well looked after. I will certainly rebook if the need arises again. Thank you Louise.”

“We felt so at ease leaving Dax with Rachel and Sam. He loved his week with Mabel too and we loved getting daily photos and updates on how he was getting on. We'll definitely book him in again.”

“Gabrielle looked after our puppy, Chester, and we were very happy with the whole experience. Good communication throughout including photos and updates while we were away, and a very happy pup when we picked him up.”

“On his first ever stay away from his family, Obi was very well looked after by Ros and Charles and seemed to be very happy spending time with them in their lovely home and garden. Ros and Charles certainly made us feel at ease and comforted that our precious pet would be cared for. We would not hesitate to have Obi stay with Ros and Charles again and already have his next little holiday booked in with them.”

“Nicola provided my springer spaniel Chester with a lovely home while we were away. We had updates throughout his visit and I would definitely recommend. Thanks again Nicola!”

“It was our first time using Rover/Michaela and it has been a positive experience. Michaela responded quickly when we first enquired and communication was great leading up to and during Fender's stay, we were sent pictures and knew he was in good hands. Thank you!”

Yvonne and her husband are so warm and caring took great care of my 2 boys Alfie and buddy they had a fantastic stay whilst we were away they wer very happy and content I had regular photos and updates they really put me at ease when I dropped them off I had no worries at all have also booked again highly recommend any one needing high standard care for there dogs thank you to you both

When we left Milly and Marley we were more than a little apprehensive as we have never left them with anyone before .but I have to say we couldn’t have left them in more safer hands the photographs and video updates were more than enough to keep us updated on their stay they loved their stay and I would highly recommend anyone unsure on where to leave their fur babies to look no further than Avi..AMAZING ❤️

Rebecca was absolutely amazing, she arranged a meet and greet first, which was very reassuring. Then when our doggles went to stay we had regular updates, photos and videos. And one of our dogs has separation anxiety so Rebecca was very understanding and accommodating to suit his needs. We couldn’t have asked for any more! Thank you so much, the pups will be excited for their next stay 🐶🐶

Kerry was an amazing sitter for our golden retriever. We had the opportunity to meet before, and the questions Kerry asked gave us confidence she was experienced and would give Suzy the best care. During Suzy's stay we got plenty of updates and photos so we could see how happy and calm she looked. The stay was during a heatwave and Kerry did everything right to keep Suzy safe and cool. In the end Suzy didn't want to come away! We could tell she'd been very well cared for and was happy. We would definitely rebook with Kerry and recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.

Lauren has looked after our two staffies twice now and we couldn’t happier with the level of care. She’s brilliant at sending regular updates and great at wrangling our big bundles of energy. We can tell how much our girls love staying because this time when we dropped them off they ran to the front door!

Phoebe and Jake took excellent care of our dog Jasper when we went on holiday. They had him for four nights, kept him to his usual routine and kept us up to date with how he was doing whilst we were away. It sounds like he's really enjoyed himself and has been very well looked after. I would have no hesitation in booking Phoebe again if we needed someone to take good care of our dog. Thank you again 😀

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Luna’s overnight stay. Luna stayed overnight while we travelled to Birmingham, and we felt completely reassured from the start. We received plenty of updates and photos, and it was lovely to see how relaxed and comfortable she was throughout her stay. Communication was excellent, Jesica and Sam were warm, friendly and clearly cared about Luna’s wellbeing. Pick-up was smooth, so everything was handled professionally. Thank you for taking such great care of Luna. We would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. We would happily book again!

Evie looked after Duke on Saturday and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Communication was excellent throughout the day, with plenty of updates and great photos which gave us real peace of mind. Duke came home happy, relaxed and clearly well looked after. It’s obvious Evie genuinely cares about the dogs in her care and I’d have no hesitation recommending her or booking again in the future.

Jessica is a lovely, warm and friendly person and has an obvious love and enthusiam for dogs. Our dog Dexter had an overnight stay with Jessica when we visited Gateshead and he had a wonderful time, going for walks and making friends with Jessica's own dog. We had great communication before and during Dexter's stay. As we left Dexter was virtually hugging Jessica goodbye! I'm only sorry we live so far away as I would use Jessica on a regular basis and will do so if we visit the area again, I can't recommend her highly enough.

Louise gave me regular daily updates, and put my mind at ease as it was the first time I’d left my angel for a week. Louise also took her on little dog adventures and made sure she was well cared for in the hot weather. Easy to communicate with, and I could tell my little darling was safe and sound.

Milena was absolutely fantastic with Griffin, and put so much effort in to comfort him on his first night away from home. Fantastic communication with lots of photos and updates, and very accommodating and understanding of our last minute booking. Overall great experience thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
