I am currently off on maternity leave now so have plenty of time to spend taking care of clients pets. I can make drop in visits during the week and also some weekends. About: I have hands-on experience caring for a rescue dog, and also volunteering with dogs trust, which has both taught me patience, understanding, and compassion. I’m skilled at building trust, providing gentle guidance, and ensuring every dog feels safe, happy, and loved during walks, playtime, and daily care. As a nurse, I have a structured and busy schedule, but I make time for pets every day because I understand the importance of routine, attention, and care. Walking, feeding, and spending quality time with dogs fits naturally around my shifts, and my experience in nursing, being attentive, patient, and responsive to needs translates directly to caring for animals. Volunteering with dogs trust has also taught me about staying calm under pressure, and providing special care, which helps me ensure every dog I look after is safe, happy, and comfortable. When caring for pets, I ensure their safety, comfort, and happiness at all times. During walks, I maintain control on a leash, monitor their behaviour, and adapt the pace to each dog’s needs. I provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and positive reinforcement, while always keeping an eye on their well-being. If caring in a pet owner’s home, I follow their instructions carefully, feeding, water, and any special routines, while giving lots of attention, love, and companionship so the dog feels safe and happy in my care.
“There are many good things i can say about Eilidh. But really its the cats opinions that matter. Trudie likes Eilidh, she likes everyone. Bea, hides when the door goes, Bea does not talk to strangers and takes a while to warm up to my friends. Bea liked Eilidh instantly! Bea was comfortable from the second the met. She came to say hello, she allowed brushing and wanted cuddles. That is very rare and the biggest commendation I can give. Id a better break knowing my girls were happy, fed, brushed and content with eilidh.”

“Naomi did drop in visit to our dog, Reilly. Everything went well. Naomi communicated well and Reilly was happy with the visit. We will be contacting her again in the future.”

About: I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and have owned and cared for dogs from a young age. More recently, I’ve raised my own Portuguese Water Dog, Marvin, from a puppy, so I’m very comfortable with young, energetic and playful dogs and all the chaos that can come with them! I also spent eight years living and working abroad, where I somehow became the unofficial adopter of several stray cats! I took them in, cared for them and nursed some back to health. One even turned out to be pregnant, so I ended up helping to care for her and raise her kittens too. I’m naturally caring, patient and responsible, and I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I’ll always treat them with the same care and attention I’d want for my own - with plenty of walks, playtime, cuddles and company, while keeping to their usual routine. And because I know how reassuring it is when you’re away, I’ll happily keep you updated with plenty of photos and little updates along the way! 🐾 I’m currently taking some time away from full-time work, which means I have lots of flexibility and plenty of time to dedicate to your pets! I’m available throughout the week, and can be flexible with walks, drop-ins and sitting depending on what you and your pet need. I also have my own dog, so getting outdoors for walks and having pet care as part of my everyday routine is already very much the norm! 🐾 I know how nerve-racking it can be trusting someone else with your pet, so their safety and happiness will always be my priority. I’ll take the time to understand their normal routine, personality and any little quirks, and follow your instructions carefully so they feel as comfortable and settled as possible. I’m happy to care for pets in their own home where they’re most familiar and comfortable, and I’ll always treat both your pet and your home with care and respect. You’ll also get plenty of updates and photos for extra peace of mind!

“Once again Sarah blew us away. She is reliable, so good with animals and even went above and beyond staying late cause our cat fell asleep on her. We couldn’t recommend her services enough!”

“Anna was fantastic when looking after Apollo and Ares. She even managed to befriend Ares who is usually elusive and doesn't engage with people. Photos and videos were plentiful! We had a difficult situation with a broken lock on the second to last day, which could've happened to anyone, but Anna made sure the cats were fed through their cat flap and got in touch quickly so we could arrange a locksmith to resolve the issue. I'd happily recommend Anna to anyone needing their cats looked after!”

“Julie is amazing, and clearly very experienced with cats. My cat Loki can be quite shy, but he felt right at home with Julie. She spent quality time with him, which is what he craves most when we’re away, and sent loads of updates. From the videos, it was very clear how much Loki enjoyed her company.”

Thank you Jodie for looking after Ginny while we were away! Jodie did a brilliant job, giving us regular updates throughout our time away, and going above and beyond to make sure Ginny wasn't left unattended during the latest heatwaves. Maybe next time Ginny will even come out and say hello! Highly recommend. Thanks again, Matt and Robyn

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
