“Kimberley was outstanding from start to finish! She went above and beyond her role to help me! She sent lovely photos of my cats and came to meet them beforehand. She even put my bin out and tidied a bit of the garden!! I have found my “cat lady” and would recommend her to ANYONE!!! She took the beat care of my wee cats and allowed me to enjoy my holiday Xx”

“Nicola was absolutely fantastic with both our dog and cat. Went above and beyond. It was our first time leaving our dog Louie and we were really apprehensive about it. Nicola made sure our pets had the best experience possible, with lots of love and affection. She sent lots of updates and videos and even brought treats and toys for them. Never felt so at ease and will not ever use anyone else. Can't recommend enough. Thanks again for everything! Louie and Loki had the best time making friends!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs, cats and other pets 10+ years. I worked at a doggy day care centre in 2023 for just under a year. This centre was ran by two sisters who were trained in animal care and behavioural management. I gained valuable experience and knowledge about difference breeds of dogs, conditions and behaviour whilst I was there. I am also in my final year of my veterinary bioscience degree. Throughout the course we have had many modules around animal care and management. We have also had practical, hands on experience with the care of cats, dogs, farm animals and small animals. I’m currently working part-time as a support worker for vulnerable adults with disabilities. I am 9am-4pm, Monday-Wednesday week 1. 9am-4pm, Monday-Tuesday week 2. I have availability to pop in for visits whenever as I can visit before or after work. Same goes for walks. Please don’t hesitate to send me a big long list of needs/requirements for your pet. Also quirks and normal behaviour for your pet too. Would much rather have too much information than not enough. When someone is caring for my cat I print out and email them a word doc. I will not judge you for this, infact it is encouraged 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 I have an SUV car which I can transport dogs in no bother. It’s leather seats so can just be wiped. I have dog seatbelts from looking after my friends dogs. I am happy to crate pets if instructed too. I am comfortable with most types of behaviour management
“Olivia followed instructions amazing and took care of our precious cat Willow. Olivia changed times to suit the cat and even thought to leave food out! when she wouldn’t return one day! (Totally normal for cats in summer) I would recommend Olivia in future and would definitely use her services again.”

About: I have over 12 years of hands-on experience caring for my family's dog, who was a cherished member of our household. Throughout those years, I was involved in every aspect of their care, including feeding, walking, grooming, administering medication when needed, attending veterinary appointments, and providing daily companionship and attention. This long-term experience taught me patience, responsibility, and how to recognize and respond to a dog's physical and emotional needs. Our beloved dog fudge recently passed away, and while it has been a difficult loss, the experience has deepened my appreciation for the bond between people and animals and strengthened my passion for caring for dogs. I currently work from home, however, I am available to travel and work from anywhere that has stable Internet if needed. I am free weekends and can be free from 6pm weekdays. I will ensure all windows remain closed, verify that all areas are free from potential hazards, and confirm that your cat receives adequate playtime, is content, and is properly fed.

About: Not had my own dogs before but have looked after friends previously. Happy to do multiple big walks a day as required and even runs if they like that! I currently work doing workshops in schools which is mostly term time and during the day. Some days there isn’t any work in a school and just working from home one or two days a week I have a large grassy garden for a pet to run around in which is secure. My fiancé and I also regularly take walks in the week and larger walks on the weekend and do love to hike so if your pet enjoys big long walks we can happily get them bagging some munros!
“Leah is a great cat sitter! She responded for my messages very quickly, respected my home, and left everything nice and clean. She's very professional and responsible. My cat was happy and well feeded when I was back.”

About: Since I was little I’ve had a deep love for all animals. No matter the species or breed their presence makes me calm and fills me with joy. I’m a very caring individual with a deep love of nature. I have a beautiful cat who is 13 and I rescued Bertie two years ago. He is a German spitz mix. I trained Bertie myself and he comes on walks regularly with me. If your dog prefers a solo walk, that’s absolutely fine! From the tiniest pup to old English sheepdogs I’ve looked after them all. I am very understanding and like to get to know each animal I care for. All animals are different and have a routine that really helps with their anxiety, behaviour and well being. I take the time to understand their needs and make sure they are happy and content. To me, there is no greater joy than seeing an animal or child happy. Thank you for taking the time to Look at my page. I work from home however, I am looking to start a pet sitting/dog walking business in September 2026. I am available for toilet breaks Monday to Sunday and am happy to take a dog that is anxious to be left on its own into our home. I appreciate some dogs can get distressed when left and that is something I can assist with. If your dog is a male and has not been neutered, I’m afraid this would not be possible due to my male dog. I am available in the evenings for walking your friend and at the weekends I am available for day care, walks and home stays. All questions welcome. I find out firstly the owners needs and make sure I follow their guidance. This is very important to me as you are trusting me to support you in caring for your family member. During toilet break visits I always spend time with the cat or dog as I don’t like to leave them unless the owner wishes. This is just to bond with them and give them some company before leaving. When dogs are in my home or staying I make sure that the dogs routine is similar to their home comforts. My children are around dogs daily and adore them. They are gentle, caring and understand boundaries. I provide updates, pictures and video calls for anyone who would like to check in with their beloved pooch. My garden has seven foot high fencing which is secure. No puppers have escaped which is reassuring and allows me to let them explore the garden if they like being outside. Lastly and most importantly I will love your dog or cat like they are my own. Cuddles, snuggles, attention, walks, reassurance and the occasional sing song!
About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as i can remember. Caring for and helping animals is my greatest joy, and to be able to give extra love to all your furry family’s would be amazing. I’m only working 1 week out of 3 just now within my work as there was a fire forcing my Starbucks store to close. Although this is a terrible thing I thought what a perfect time to do this as I’ve always wanted to. Most weeks I’m available anytime, anyday to help you and your furry friends. I currently can’t do boarding in my own home, but I’m more than happy and available to care for your pets in your own home. I have so much time for animals and love playing with them, I have so much love to give and a whole lot of time on my hands! So all the time in the world to keep your pets busy :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
