“Keli - was a fantastic cat sitter and we'd highly recommend her. She was a great communicater and helped us out with a more urgent request. Our cat does not like new people and will be troublesome at times but Keli was completely professional and understood exactly how to handle our cat! Thanks for a great service Keli :)”

“Chloe was just great- I felt totally relaxed after she met me and the dogs before the walks knowing we were in very good hands! On the day she coped admirably with Bob having to be on the lead in a Buster collar and paw boot in very wet weather. Highly recommend her and will ask her back if I need a walker/sitter for future dates.”

“Roisin and Edward have been fantastic! We organised a drop in with Fergus and we received great info/pictures and felt very confident in them. Would highly recommend and would use again!”

“Nicola yet again looked after our Cat Jippy so very well whilst we were away for a couple of Days. We so appreciate all her help and support. We came back home again to a very happy Jippy. Thanks again Nicola.”

“Sana was super helpful and attentive whilst we were away. She went above and beyond what was expected of her, and we felt very safe leaving Jada in her care. She sent photos and videos of Jada every day. Would highly recommend her to everyone!”

“My cat was comfortable with Charlotte right away which is unusual for him. She took great care of him and sent updates and photos every day. Would definitely book again 🙂”

About: I’ve always loved dogs and been lucky enough to finally get one 5 years ago. My picture is of me and Freddie, my labradoodle. He lives with his dad 50% of the time so I am free to take care of your dog during this time. I have full public liability insurance and am happy to come to your home. I live on the southside and have a car so can travel. Southside is preferred due to the cost of fuel. I am available for dog sitting, walks and overnights in your home. I’m free to take care of your dog Wednesday- Friday and some Saturdays. I can do overnight, pop ins and walks in your area. I will come to your home to care for your dog. I’m happy to do walks, pop ins or overnights. Let me know if your dog has a preferred walking route.
“Rachel was incredible. She was so friendly and made organising her visit to Morris really easily! We got pictures and a little report of her hour with Morris - which was lovely. Would highly recommend!”

“Our cat Star loves Claire and is always happy to see her for treats and grooming when we are on holiday. Claire is really reliable and communicates with us regularly. We’ve used her 3 times now and will be booking her again next year to cover holidays ”

About: I’ve grown up having dogs my whole life and began pet-sitting and dog walking when I was around 16. I have looked after a range of dogs for friends, family and neighbours. I absolutely adore dogs and love going on long (or short) walks with them. I work part time, with a fairly flexible work schedule. I can easily schedule walks, play time, and cuddles with your pet throughout my day. I have a spacious home with a large grass area at the front. I have 2 cats at home but they are very chilled and friendly with other pets
About: I love all dogs - big and small! I grew up with dogs - a German short haired pointer and an Italian Spinone, as well as lots of other lovely dogs in my extended family too. I now have a three year old cocker spaniel called Juno. She is well trained and very sociable with all dogs and she loves to have other dogs to stay! I’m happy to work on any training needs your dog has while staying with me. I work from home 2 or 3 days a week. I tend to take Juno for one longer (1+ hours) walk per day as well as a couple of short trips to the park. I can adjust this depending on your dog - longer/more adventurous for energetic dogs and shorter/more gentle walks for older or slower dogs. We love to go down to Portobello, round Arthur’s Seat and up to Blackford Hill. I live on my own and have a 2 year old cocker spaniel. She is very friendly and gets on with all dogs - but also knows when to leave dogs that don’t want to play with her! I will only ever take one dog at a time so it will only ever be the two dogs together. I have a secure shared garden with grass lawn and surrounding stone wall. In the house, your dog can make itself at home. I have dog beds in both rooms and they are also welcome to be on the sofa/armchairs. I’ve got lots of dog toys and chews. My flat is on the third floor so may not be suitable for older dogs with mobility/joint issues.
“Charlie gives Ian 5 stars for his care and attention that he received whilst we were away. Communication with Ian was easy and we had lots of great updates as to how Charlie was getting on. We would totally recommend Ian to anyone and everyone. Thank you for taking such good care of Charlie.”

“Second time having Karris drop in on my cats whilst I am away. They are more familiar with her now and the pictures definitely show they are more than happy. Thank you Karris, definitely using your service again.”

“Rachel did an amazing job with Bella and Luna. She was such a lovely girl and was very helpful and kind. She sent video and photo updates and they were happy being stroked and fussed over by Rachel. Would definitely recommend and will be using Rachel in the future. ”
About: I’m a student in the southside of Glasgow with a lifelong love for dogs! I’ve worked at a Doggy Daycare and Boarding Kennels part-time for around a year now so feel at ease around a large number of dogs. I’ve taken care of my neighbours dogs - german shepherd and golden retrievers - for as long as i can remember, walking them almost everyday over summers and whenever i can other times. I’ve also in recent years cared for them whilst my neighbours are on holiday so have plenty of experience with general day to day care of others’ pets. I have my own little dachshund Joey who i adore but doesn’t much like walking unfortunately so looking for another wee walking buddy. I work part time and am free of uni work all summer so dog-walking would just be a fun way of filling this spare time i have! I’m used to caring for dogs in their own home - they’re most comfortable and it suits me best. I do bring the dogs to my own house from time to time just to meet Joey and play outside - i’m lucky to have quite a big back garden which comes in handy!
About: I’m a lawyer who now works from home full time. I absolutely adore dogs and would love to look after your gorgeous pet 😊 I’ve owned dogs and cats since the age of 11 and absolutely love all kinds of animals. I’ve got a goofy fluffy dog who is 1 year old now and love teaching him new skills. As I work from home, I will be around at home all day so your dog is not left alone for long periods of time. I’m available for boarding, pet-sitting, drop-ins and walks most days of the week in accordance with my calendar availability. I work from home so have quite a flexible schedule. I have a house with a secure garden in Newlands close to Linn Park, Pollok Park, Newlands Park and Queens Park. Your pets will get plenty of exercise and space to play!
About: I've grown up around all sorts of small animals; dogs, cats, rodents and hamsters and have lovingly cared for them since I was a child. I am comfortable around dogs of all sizes after caring for small dogs and dogs requiring a great deal of a exercise like Huskys. I can feed, bathe and orally medicate most animals. I have my own dog, an excitable Golden Retriever who I've raised from a puppy which means I'm experienced dealing with that extreme puppy energy! I am a dedicated rabbit owner and know how important it is to find someone who fully understands how to care for exotic animals. I am experienced medicating and grooming rabbits and understand the benefits of a good quality diet and place to live. During the school term, I work full time. I am available for boarding during school holidays and weekends. I am able to look after small animals in my home during the week if they do not require someone home during the day. During the summer/Easter/October holidays I will be available full time during the week and weekends. I have a medium sized fully enclosed garden for dogs to roam around and small animals to visit under supervision. I can crate animals if required, however, I am happy to have uncrated animals in my home who would sleep in the kitchen or bedroom overnight. I can accommodate nervous pets who need someone by their side day and night, as long as you let me know in advance and I can make sure my schedule is completely clear 😊 During the day, dogs are welcome to access the entire downstairs area. I have plenty of cosy spaces and couches for dogs to lounge on. Small furrys should be provided with their own pen/cage/set up and can be set up in the living room or a quiet spare room depending on your preference.

Cat owners share their Rover experiences - East Renfrewshire
I couldn't have asked for better cat sitters than Genevieve and Rory! They sent regular updates on my cat Ziggy and he was clearly very happy in their company from the first visit as well as respectful of my home. A joy to chat with and have made me look forward to booking them again - very happy to recommend to anyone

Amber was an absolute god send for us on our recent lengthy holiday, she took excellent care of our young cat and was reliable, flexible, professional and very resourceful in dealing with issues such as the heatwave and a dead rat!! She is clearly experienced and natural with animals and became good friends with our shy little miso, it was such a load off our minds, Amber is trustworthy and approachable and we felt very safe having her in our home, we look forward to having her again and also introducing her to our rescue dog, she was very knowledgeable and understanding about nervous dogs which is a rare find. So glad we picked Amber and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter.
Rachel was such an amazing cat sitter. She not only spent her time cleaning and feeding our cats, but also making sure they were groomed, given treats and playing with them. She also sends lots of photos, videos, long detailed reports of the day with the cats with any notes, observations and overall health of our cats. We were able to enjoy our holiday thoroughly due to Rachel. Highly Recommended!
Alex always does a fantastic job, and I keep booking him because he treats my cats with such kindness and attention. His daily WhatsApp updates with photos feel incredibly reassuring and make me smile while I’m away. My two cats are always content, relaxed, and full of good spirits when I come home, which tells me everything I need to know about the care he gives them. I’m truly grateful for him and couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Shirley is a wonderful cat sitter! She came to our home before our trip to meet our cats, learn their routine, and make sure she understood their care, our home, and what to do in case of an emergency. Throughout our trip, she sent us daily updates with photos and videos, which gave us great peace of mind. It was clear that our cats were happy, well cared for, and enjoyed spending time with her, playing and cuddling. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Shirley’s services again in the future. Thank you again, Shirley!
We cannot thank or recommend Giulia enough. She noticed our boy was not peeing but trying the litter tray frequently, got in touch with us and after speaking with the vets took him and got him sorted. She was reassuring and kept us updated all the way and I honestly am so grateful for everything. Thanks so much again x

Keli looked after our cat Tigger for 8 days whilst we were on holiday. Tigger is 14 and very set in his ways - Keli was brilliant with him and her daily feedback allowed us to enjoy our break without worrying too much. Highly recommend her and will definitely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
