Availability
Pet care fits well into my weekly routine. I have a regular commitment every Thursday morning from 9:45am–12:00pm where I walk and care for a neighbour’s dog, so I’m unavailable during this time each week. Outside of that, I’m flexible with bookings depending on the day and notice given. I also live with my mum and we share care of our dog, who has three walks a day. I usually take on one of these walks per day and this is already built into my routine so it doesn’t affect my availability for other pet care bookings. Although I live at home I will be doing this myself and have years of experience walking dogs alone. I also volunteer at a doggy daycare on a weekly basis, which is flexible and arranged around my availability, so I can adjust this when needed. Overall, I’m organised and reliable, and I make sure each pet gets the time and care they need.

I’m confident handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments, including reactive or anxious dogs, due to my experience with my own rescue dog and working with dogs in daycare settings. A typical day with pets depends on their age, personality, and energy levels, but I always focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy. For dogs, this can include walks, playtime, enrichment activities, cuddles, and plenty of attention and supervision. I enjoy playing games like fetch, using toys for mental stimulation, and making sure dogs get a good balance of exercise and rest. For more relaxed or older pets, I’m also happy just spending calm quality time with them and keeping them company. I love getting to know each pet’s personality and adapting activities to what they enjoy most.

I have experience dog walking and pet sitting for a neighbour, including weekly 45-minute walks and in-home care for a puppy Westie. I also volunteer at a doggy daycare where I assist with around eight dogs at a time, supporting play, supervision, and enrichment activities in both indoor and outdoor secure environments. I have hands-on experience with reactive, anxious, and medically sensitive dogs through caring for my own 23kg rescue dog, including managing leash reactivity, arthritis, and dietary needs. This has given me confidence handling strong, excitable dogs and adapting care to each animal’s individual needs. I am calm, reliable, and very attentive to safety and wellbeing, and I have a strong long-term passion for animal care and rehabilitation.
