About: I have five cats of my own, so caring for pets is a big part of my everyday life. They’re all boys and all very different, so I’m used to different personalities, routines, and giving each pet the care and attention they need. I’m comfortable with automatic litter boxes, pet feeders, and water fountains, and I know how important it is to keep everything clean, topped up, and running properly. Looking after my own cats has made me patient, reliable, and very aware of the little things that help pets feel safe, settled, and cared for while you’re away. I work part-time from home and study Law full-time at Edinburgh Napier, so I’m used to managing my time well and have a fairly flexible schedule. I also have my own car, which means I can be flexible with travel and visit times. I have five cats of my own, so caring for pets is part of my everyday routine. At home, I use fully automatic litter trays and clean them daily, including emptying waste, topping up litter, checking the app, and cleaning the sensors to make sure everything is running properly. I also use automatic water fountains and feeders, so I’m used to topping up water regularly (especially with five boys who drink a lot), keeping everything clean, and making sure food is given on a set schedule with the right portion sizes—not too much and not too little. In a pet owner’s home, I’d follow the same level of care and attention, keeping everything clean, consistent, and comfortable for your pet.
“Liam was a fantastic sitter and we’d happily book him again. He was always on time and looked after our cats so well. We also loved getting the regular updates and photos, which really helped us relax knowing the cats were happy and in good hands. Would definitely recommend Liam to anyone looking for a great cat sitter in Edinburgh!”

“Kayla did a great job looking after Midnight! We received regular updates and photos/videos, which really put our minds at ease while we were away. Midnight seemed very relaxed and well-cared for when we returned. We’ll definitely be booking Kayla again!”

“Anna was amazing with my two cats. She was always on time and communicated amazingly. She provided lots of pictures every visit and a nice summary of how everything went. Both Cleo and Lila were great when I got back and very very happy. Will definitely be reaching out again when I next have to travel.”

“Michela was very attentive towards my cat ‘Astrid’ during her drop- in visits over the festive period, I received regular updates via video messaging on her progress. I would highly recommend Michela to anyone thinking of using her services and will definitely be booking her again. Thank you 👌”

“Rhianna was fantastic with Bruno. Great communication, regular updates, and excellent care throughout his stay. Bruno was happy and well looked after. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her. 🐾”

“We cannot ask for a better cat sitter than Allie for our 3 fluffy boys while we were on holiday, including giving our cat Oscar his insulin injection twice a day. Allie sent us regular updates and adorable pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She was always responsive to any questions we had, and it was clear that our cats felt completely at ease with her. Knowing they were in such safe hands made our trip all the more enjoyable. If you are looking for a reliable, caring, and professional pet sitter, I cannot recommend Allie enough.”

As I worried pet owner, really appreciate the communication and updates Hope gives. We will happily have Hope watch our pets again. Many thanks!”

About: I’ve been around pets my whole life and grew up with a family dog from the time I was 8 into adulthood. I developed a love for caring for his needs, which lead to becoming passionate and taking initiative about his training. The more involved I was, the more I wanted to learn and deepen my understanding and care for animals, from bathing, training, different breeds and their behaviours, and overall care. Over the years, I’ve looked after a wide variety of pets for friends and family, from playful puppies to senior companions. In 2019, my husband and I welcomed an elderly dog with high anxiety and specific dietary needs, and we were able to give him lots of love, comfort, patience, and stability during his final years. I know every pet has their own personality and needs, and I truly enjoy giving them the love and attention that helps them feel safe and happy while their people are away. If that means long walks, playtime, sticking to special routines, or simply offering quiet companionship, I adapt my care to what each pet needs most. I’m reliable, detail oriented, and will always treat your pets like members of my own family. I also know how important peace of mind is when you’re away, so I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos to keep you connected. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable, supported, and cared for. As a full-time homemaker, I have the flexibility to give your pet plenty of love, attention, and care throughout the week and weekends. Your pet won’t be left alone for long periods, so you can feel confident they’ll have company and comfort while you’re away. I have a secure, fully fenced back garden where dogs can safely play and relax. Our home is calm, comfortable, and family orientated. We have a gentle 6 year old child who has grown up learning how to be kind and respectful to animals. We’re lucky to have beautiful walking paths, forest trails, and safe ‘off-lead’ areas nearby, perfect for exercise and adventure, depending on your dog’s comfort and recall. I also have a car and am happy to drive for walks or home visits, so your pet can enjoy a change of scenery or a favourite spot. I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and routine, making sure they feel settled, safe, and loved whether they’re staying with me or I’m visiting them in their own home.

I would prefer to do dog sitting or cat sitting in your own home or dog walking. Can drive so can take them on local walks around the area and Adventure out!

I’m absolutely delighted with Kuok Si. She’s just the most caring human I could’ve possibly found for my furry babies. Her attention for details is unmatched! She took care of my cats as if they were her own, making sure they had plenty of cuddles , play and outdoor time. She sent daily updates and even went the extra mile to keep me happy. A true animal lover and professional cat sitter, I highly recommend her ❤️

Michele is an excellent cat sitter, I was away for 14 days and Michele made me feel my cats were in good hands from day 1, the cats also seemed to enjoy her company aswell as they were nice and calm when I came home and one of them was even going in for cuddles with her😺 Michele also sends pics and updates every visit, would definitely recommend if anyone is going on holiday for a week or two.

Amelia was amazing looking after our cat Millie. She kept us up to date with messages, videos and photos everyday. Millie was very happy with the service and got loads of cuddles and playtime. She was very content when we got back and didn't seem stressed or anxious at all. Thanks Amelia!

Helena was fantastic. This was our first time both using Cat in a Flat and booking Helena to look after our cat Missy, so I was understandably nervous but Helena really put me at ease. Helena followed our instructions with love and care, and we came home to a calm and happy cat. We highly recommend her, and would love to book her again for our future holidays!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
