“Kirsty was reliable, timely and checked in with me while Benji was with her. He was a happy boy on both leaving and returning. I’d happily recommend Kirsty and use her again for overnight boarding.”

“Thank you so much Anne for taking such lovely care of our energetic, adolescent, oddball of a pup! We really appreciated getting updates and he clearly had a lovely weekend going on different adventures!! It’s clear Anne has lots of patience and love for all types of pups, putting in effort to understand their personality 🐶 Would definitely recommend to others!”

“Jemma and Keira welcomed our dogs into their home and made it a home from home while we were away. They took them on doggy adventures above and beyond expectations. They were both well looked after.”

“Thanks again for having Miss Tilly for the weekend. She looks like she had a great time and we got all the story when we got in. We highly recommend Gillian as a wonderful dog minder xxx”

“This was our first experience leaving our dog Bert while away and turned out to be worry free. We honestly think he had a better 2 week holiday than we did and ours was fantastic! Derek kept us very reguarly informed with videos of Bert enjoying himself and we'd have absolutely no hesitation of leaving him with Derek again.”

“This was Tacua’s first ever stay with Rover and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better person than John to take care of him! Tacua was so happy, John was sending daily updates of their walks and you could tell my dog was the happiest and so well taken care of! Can’t recommend John enough and would definitely trust him with Tacua again.”

“What a lovely couple and so nice to get Skye back well exercised and clearly having enjoyed her time. Claire sent me a message daily with an update on how Skye was with a photo or video which meant we could totally relax that she was in good hands. Clare was incredibly accommodating when I had to change details and really quick to reply. In short, I would not hesitate for a second to recommend your dog stayed with Clare, she was amazing.”

“Clara was a very enthusiastic and caring dog-sitter for Patch. She followed my instructions for Patch's daily routine and she communicated regularly to let us know how he was getting on. Patch seemed very happy staying with her.”

“Ginevra and Nic were absolutely fabulous from start to finish! Originally, we had booked Bella in for daycare with Ginevra for a few days while we were on holiday (our family members were going to watch Bella overnight), but due to a very last minute change in circumstances, we needed to board her for 5 nights. Ginevra not only accommodated our late change of plans, but she also went out of her way to help us make sure we were able to switch our booking on Rover without incurring any additional fees. Ginevra provided a very helpful checklist to help us pack Bella's overnight bag, and thoughout Bella's stay, she and Nic kept us up to date with plenty of pictures and videos of Bella's adventures with. Bella had such a lovely time with them! When we picked her up at the end of her stay, Ginevra and Nic even gave us an adorable report card with details about Bella's time with them. We are honestly so impressed with the level of love, care, and detail they have shown towards Bella and to us. They really gave us such a peace of mind, and we have no doubt we will be using their boarding service again soon!”

“Amazing! Jennifer was great at communicating from start to finish, which made everything really easy and reassuring. I felt completely comfortable leaving Beau overnight, and he was safe, well looked after and happy to gets lots of cuddles. I'd definitely book again and highly recommend Jennifer!”

“Monika was very caring with our nervous dog Ivy and seems like the 2 night sleepover went well. We got lots of pictures of Ivy out having fun on walks. Ivy came home absolutely fine, happy, ate her dinner, slept all night. Very reassuring with an anxious dog to know we have someone like Monika to leave her with when we're away. Thank you! x”

About: Ive had 2 dogs for the last 17yrs . Of which we had 2 litters from . I adored the whole journey from puppy to seniors all come with different challenges and demands but Sooo rewarding to have relationships and experiences together. Since my 2 dogs have passed find myself caring for friends and family's pets .. so it seems the natural order to board for those who dont have that facility. I love having the company of dogs in my home. Gets me out exploring our beautiful walks . I am at home most days although I have an art workshop close by so can often be found there. In which case the dogs come with me and have space to raom there securely too. So I am around for enjoying each other's company and there for treats cuddles and toilet breaks . I live in a home with both front and back garden both fully enclosed . Although I do like to make use of our many gorgeous walks locally so aren't stuck in one place all day. I can offer a crate for your dog to sleep in if required although happily have them loose if they prefer.
“Danielle and Dougie were the absolute best. I knew my dog Carmen was in good hands the moment I met them. Everything was great and Carmen had the best time with them - going on gorgeous walks, plenty of exercise and lots of cuddles! Thanks again guys ❤️”

“I was away for a work function for a few days and Buddy was very well looked after by Jessica, meaning I could be away stress free and not having to worry. I’ll definitely ask her to sit again in the future.”

“Rekha was absolutely fantastic with Eric. From the moment we met her, we felt completely at ease leaving him in her care. She sent regular updates and lovely photos, which was so reassuring, and it was clear he was having the best time. From the photos it looks like Eric was taken on lots of long walks and he came back happy, relaxed, and very well looked after, honestly, I’m not sure he wanted to come home! I would 100% recommend Rekha to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitter, and we will definitely be using her again.”

“Minnow was so excited when we got to Judit’s house, she loves staying here. Judit is very communicative and thoughtful, and her family really care about dogs. Thank you!”

“I've just picked my dog up from Mathew after her 5 night stay. It was my first time using Matthew and I totally would again. He was really patient with all my questions before booking. Communication was great while I was away, pictures, funny stories and even a video. All of this meant I didn't worry at all. I would absolutely recommend Matthew and his gorgeous wee dog to anyone. Thank you Matthew and Hiccup!!”

“I would strongly recommend Avril. She was incredibly supportive and attentive with Locky. I felt rest assured that he was well taken care of. He looked very happy and chilled.”

“My cocker spaniel stayed with Ricardo overnight and had a great time. Excellent communication from Ricardo. He kept me informed on how Brodie was getting on and sent photos from his stay and the walks he went on. Will definitely be using Ricardo again.”

Bear and Luna absolutely loved their overnight stay with Danille and Doug! I cannot thank you both enough for looking after them and putting me at ease knowing this was the first time I have left them, I got regular updates and pictures from throughout their stay and they were spoilt rotten, so much so I dont think they wanted to come home! I honestly couldn’t recommend these guys enough to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter, your babies will be in the best of hands! My 2 are looking forward to their next visit to Danielle and Doug!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Cassandra and her family. They were honestly amazing with our dogs and made the whole thing so easy for us. Even when there were a couple of little tummy issues with one of our dogs, she handled it so calmly and kept us updated, which really put our minds at ease. It’s never easy leaving your dogs with someone else, but we felt completely comfortable knowing they were being so well looked after. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for better. Such a lovely family — would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone to care for their dogs.

Honey had a fantastic time with Kirsty and her family, we were able to go away for the first time leaving her with rover service s, she was well looked after and well walked, Kirsty kept in touch with photos and messages to let us know how honey was getting on. Would highly recommend.

Our golden retriever Beau stayed with Helena for 12 nights whilst we were on holiday. Helena was so accommodating with settling in days and one night before we left. Her dog is so calm and gentle and a great influence on Beau and Helena is very kind and patient with both dogs. She sent us regular updates and photos and Beau had a ball as spent time on group dog walks and explored lots of different places. He was suffering from a bit of separation anxiety before we left but, on return, have noticed he is much calmer if my husband walks away out of sight when we’re out, and Beau didn’t get upset or worried as he did before being away. He is also much calmer around other dogs we meet when out, and we believe this is due to socialising regularly with Helen’s own dog, and others on walks. Helena was great and cannot recommend her care highly enough. Will definitely book her again.

Patricia was very welcoming of Crumble. It was my first time leaving Crumble to board with a sitter. Patricia made us both feel very relaxed at the introduction session, she asked lots of questions and I felt confident that Crumble would be happy when I was away. Crumble seemed really happy and at home in the pictures and videos sent by Patricia and I was glad to hear that she seemed to be settling well. We were a little late in picking Crumble up after her stay due to train delays and Patricia was very accommodating and very happy to hold on to Crumble a little longer. Crumble was well looked after and a happy pup. I’m so pleased with how everything worked out and would definitely recommend Patricia. She was gentle and understanding and happy to listen to what Crumble needed.

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
