“Monika was a fantastic host for our dog when we went on holiday. We were updated with photos every day which showed how much fun she was having, and communication was fantastic throughout. Would highly recommend Monika to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“We had never used Rover before and couldn’t have had a better experience with Jessica. From the outset Jessica was incredible, taking the time to meet Peach and show us around her home while asking very thoughtful and considerate questions about her care. During her stay, Jessica sent us lots of updates which we loved, and it was clear that Peach was extremely well taken care of throughout the week! We’re so grateful to have met Jessica and will most definitely be returning when we next need a dog sitter. Thank you Jessica!”

“This was our first time leaving Luna with a sitter and the first time using Rover, so we were a little nervous. We needn’t have worried however as Naveen was fantastic. Lots of pictures and videos of Luna whilst she was on her visit - she looked like she had a great time and was clearly very well looked after.”

“This was our first ever time using home boarding for Kaiser and it went even better than we could have hoped. Kaiser had a better holiday than us! Anne provided him with a loving home and a stimulating social life. We know now that we have found the perfect home from home every time we go away and it’s guilt free as he has a ball!”

“This has been our dobermans second stay with Agata and Steven and we couldn’t fathom that they could give her much more love, attention and adoration than her first stay but Agata and Steven did! From home cooked treats to new toys, games at home, we could see our pup loved every moment in their home. The consistent updates made us tear up as our rescue pup started exhibiting more confidence, obedience and most of all a beautiful happy temperament. Our pup has extremely high levels of energy and Agata matched this with the walks and parks they explored together. Agata is extremely insightful about all breeds especially dobermans and has been so helpful and supportive in aiding us to find a suitable trainer for our pup too. We cannot be more thankful that we have found such a safe, loving home away from home for our pup and we know our dog dreams about her next holiday with them! Thank you!!”

“Samuel was great with Fig. He really wanted to understand her routine and make sure she was comfortable. Fig enjoyed her time with him and Phoebe and came back a happy and healthy! We would definitely book with him again.”

“Derek is an amazing dog sitter with lots of varied walks. Photos and videos are regular so you know your fur baby is doing well in your absence. Only one complaint, Derek is always booked up!! He’s so fab hard to pin him down, we need more Derek’s, thank you again lol 😂”

“Rocky had the best time with Dani and Dougie. We got regular updates about all his walks and the people he met who all loved him. We got photos and you could see how happy he was everytime. Dont think he was happy about us picking him up from his holiday from home. He was spoiled. Would recommend to everyone and will book again without a doubt. Thank you Dani and Dougie 🐾”

“Thanks again for having Miss Tilly for the weekend. She looks like she had a great time and we got all the story when we got in. We highly recommend Gillian as a wonderful dog minder xxx”

“Katie and Lorimer were excellent with Alfie. He is quite nervous when meeting new people but they gave him space until he felt comfortable with them. They took him for lots of lovely walks and gave him lots of play time in the garden. They kept us updated with plenty of photos of him which kept our minds at ease as this was the first time we had ever left him with a pet sitter. Would highly recommend them and will be using them again.”

About: I have loved dogs forever, but got my first one almost 4 years ago. Max is the star of my family. What sets me apart is how much I love Max, by taking him for walks, going running with him and my husband even takes him to golf. Your dog will be well looked after and will immediately have a best doggy pal in Max. I can't work Tuesday's, but Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays work well for me. A normal 9-5 would work, but open to change too. Our house is on a corner so it has a high hedge. We have a front gate which is quite secure. Perfect for when dogs want to play!
“Avril was extremely attentive and quick to respond. She also sent a lot of photos and it seemed like Ozzy had a lot of fun. I would certainly recommend Avril to another pet owner!”

“Harris and Maria are the best. They looked after my Kobe with great care and attention and kept us informed daily to let us know how he was getting on. Five star service. Sandra & Tom”

“Mike and Lorraine were absolutely great looking after our lively Labrador Baxter. They sent regular updates and photos and we felt very confident leaving Baxter with them. He clearly had a great time…..he didn’t want to leave when we went to collect him!”

“Superhappy with Lorenzo and partner for taking care of our pup Buddy. We've met at the park prior to make sure our dogs got along and we didn't need to worry - Chai and Kambudscho took to Buddy instantly. Communication has been great also and we were able to make changes at the last minute (he was meant to stay overnight but were able to pick him up that night due to work schedule changes. Buddy was so happy and tired when he came back with us. We'll definitely book another puppy date soon😊”

“Kirsty was really quick to respond for a last minute sitting. She was amazing in keeping me up to date with how Harris was adjusting. He clearly seemed to have a great time as there was no energy left in him when he got back home. Kirsty is very reliable, professional, and accomodating. Could not recommend her more!!!”

“This was the first time we boarded our dog and it took a long time to find a couple we felt comfortable with. Steve and Julie offered us a meet and greet session before Jess' overnight visit. This was very re-assuring and it definitely helped when we left Jess on our next visit. Steve and Julie are a lovely friendly and happy couple. They obviously have many years experience of looking after dogs (their own and boarders) and we could tell that they would welcome Jess into their home. We are already planning our holidays for 2027 based on our very positive experience of using Steve and Julie to look after Jess. We could tell that she was relaxed in their company when we went to collect her and I'm sure she would have been happy to spend more time with them. We cannot thank them enough for making this first time boarding go so smoothly.”

“Vickie has been more than helpful in providing care and accommodation for my two westies who I can assure you have different needs and personalities! For me it allowed me to relax knowing they were in safe hands.”

“Fi had a lovely stay with Michael. He did everything to ensure that Fi was as comfortable as possible and made sure that Fi's meal times were exactly as they were at home. He sent me beautiful photos of Fi daily and I could see how happy my girl was enjoying her stay. I can't thank him and Sandra enough. Your 4 legged friends will be well looked after during their stay.”

Nicky was great with my little dog Vanilla, she was sending me pictures everday and I saw how content my little furr baby looked. Also, was very last minute request and nicky saved me lol. Thanks again for taking such good care of Vanilla. Will definitly be using Nickys services again❤️

My rescue dog Bonnie had the best time with Emer. I got some lovely updates while we were away on their activities which included a trip to an agility dog park and a pup cup... Bonnie seemed disappointed to be leaving them at the end of the weekend, which is a huge testament to the care and attention she would have gotten. Thanks so much to you both for giving Bon such a wonderful weekend 😊

Jo looked after our dog for 2 weeks and was very accommodating of his little quirks. I felt like he was in a really safe pair of hands, as well as having doggy company with Jo’s own dog. Jo has great communication both ahead of the stay and regular updates while we were on holiday.

Anne just spent a week looking after our rather clingy and very active spaniel. Absolutely brilliant. From wanting a detailed run down of our dog so she could understand him better to giving updates and pictures when we were away. Would definitely recommend and would have absolutely no hesitation in using again.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to Cassandra and her family. They were honestly amazing with our dogs and made the whole thing so easy for us. Even when there were a couple of little tummy issues with one of our dogs, she handled it so calmly and kept us updated, which really put our minds at ease. It’s never easy leaving your dogs with someone else, but we felt completely comfortable knowing they were being so well looked after. We genuinely couldn’t have asked for better. Such a lovely family — would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for someone to care for their dogs.

Honey had a fantastic time with Kirsty and her family, we were able to go away for the first time leaving her with rover service s, she was well looked after and well walked, Kirsty kept in touch with photos and messages to let us know how honey was getting on. Would highly recommend.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
