“Lynh, Chris and the family were wonderful with our little Bears recent stay. Such an accommodating family sending many pics and videos with communication. Bear had the most wonderful fun time and was taken care of very well, all our instructions for Bear were met and this gave us such great peace of mind whilst abroad. Such a kind animal loving family. Thank you. Bear will be back to see you all again soon !”

“Another brilliant sit from Charlene. This time Meg visited her at home for 2 nights. She sent lots of pictures and updates about how Meg was getting on, which made me feel completely reassured. Thank you so much! 🐾 🤎”

“I would highly recommend Ruth anyday. She helped us out massively with a last minute booking and was very accommodating. Lovely friendly household in a great location. Our pup had a lovely visit and we will 100% be using her again for future trips.”

“Danielle was an exceptional host for Teddy. Her home is clean, warm, and inviting. Teddy took to this space straight away on his first visit and I felt comfortable leaving him in Danielle's capable hands. I received regular and prompt updates about Teddy during his visit and this was most helpful. I would recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a loving place for their dog to stay whilst they are away.”

“I can absolutely recommend Hannah. She looked after our 2 spaniels whilst we were away skiing and from the moment I met Hannah I felt 100% confident and relaxed. Hannah is kind, competent, experienced with animals, a good communicator, professional and excellent in every aspect. The accommodation and location is amazing, your dog/s will be very happy. Perfect walks and cuddles and the right amount of reassuring photos were appreciated. On soul and conscience I can promise Hannah’s care will be the best. I’m definitely going to book in again asap as the whole package is a lucky find. Thank you so much Hannah. Best wishes Dr Angie Martin”

“We were delighted Amy could look after Layla for us. From the first communication and meeting we were confident Layla would be well looked after. We loved the photos and updates while we were away and Layla seemed very happy and content. We would be very pleased to book with Amy again.”

“Ziggy had a wonderful time with Martina and her family. He got to go for a forest walk and get cozy in front of the fire. He even went on his first morning run! He came home content and had a long nap - definitely a sign of a good adventure, as he’s always fully of energy. I think he would have happily stayed, to be honest 😂 Martina was lovely and understanding, and kept us updated. I felt at ease leaving Ziggy in her care; and love that Ziggy had so much fun. 🐾”

“Grant provides a very thorough approach to his service. He takes it seriously, as he should. It's his reputation and he wants to provide the best. But I hope in time we can trust each other, so he can relax a bit more. Poppy herself had a lovely time. She can come across as being a bit excitable to start with but she settles down quickly. She would have thoroughly enjoyed the walks that Grant provides. Dates already booked in again for further holidays.”

“Bonnie, our cocker spaniel, had a great stay with Kirsty, Stephen and Bear. She was a little nervous when she arrived but we left her feeling reassured she was in the best hands. Kirsty sent lovely updates showing us what a fab time Bonnie was having. Thank you for taking such good care of her! Would 100% recommend.”

“This is the second time our fur baby Dora has stayed with Cristina. She is totally well looked after and love by Cristina, I will definitely be rebooking again. Thank you”

“Emma watched our dog Toast for a week while we were on holiday. She was very professional and gave us many updates throughout the period. Toast was happy and well cared for upon our return. Thanks Emma!”

“Rebecca was fantastic, Poppy and Tulip have had an amazing time and have been provided with all the love and care in the world. We got lots of (p)up-dates of what they were doing, they’ve had the best holiday. We would definitely recommend Rebecca 😍”

“Debbie and her wonderful family treated Vallie like their own. They followed her schedule perfectly and planned an amazing holiday for her with beach trips, park visits, and lots of games. We loved the frequent photo updates, and it looked like Vallie had more fun than we did! Highly recommend Debbie to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog,Lola , received during their 10-night stay! The sitter was absolutely fantastic—attentive, loving, and truly went above and beyond. Lola came home happy, healthy, and clearly had the best time, with daily updates and photos that kept us smiling. The communication was spot-on, and it was so reassuring to know our pup was in such great hands. Highly recommend this amazing dog sitter for anyone looking for top-notch care! 5 stars!”

“Becky was great, Connie loved her stay and didn’t want to leave! She has a massive garden where dogs can freely run about, and becky was full accommodating for Connie's needs with her still being a puppy and being high energy - Would recommend”

Can't reccomend Megan enough! She's had my puppy Ace a couple times now and he's always so excited to see her and has a bundle of fun! She's very accommodating and understanding of Aces particular requirements and keeps me updated with photos which always make my day! A very reliable and consistent person to trust to look after your pets, 10⭐️

Emma took great care of Luigi for an extended time while we were away. She kept him well exercised and he had a great time playing with her dog as well. She sent plenty of pics and gave us a daily update to know how he was doing. Overall a great experience and we would happily have Emma watch him again in the future!

- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
