“Once again Becky was fantastic. The girls knew exactly where they were when we arrived and were so excited to see her again. They made themselves right at home and were not bothered by us leaving at all. Throughout the stay Becky kept is updated with pictures and videos and checked in when she wasn't sure of something. We would 100% recommend anyone to Becky. She is amazing.”

“Sirius had a fantastic stay with Grant. He settled in very quickly and I could tell from the updates that he was enjoying himself (and hogging the coach/bed as usual). Both Sirius and I recommend Grant!”

“Thank you to Lewis and Claudia. With Murphy our Sheepadoodle being on the larger size, it can be daunting for some to look after him but both Lewis and Claudia took him on with confidence and without hesitation. They answered our questions and updated us to let us know that Murphy settled well which put our minds at ease. On collection Murphy was his usual energetic self and seemed absolutely fine with having been away!”

About: I have previous experience dog walking and pet sitting through BorrowMyDoggy app, as well as volunteering for Paws of Kalymnos in Greece, where I helped care for rescue dogs by feeding, cleaning and playing with them. Although I would love to have pets of my own, my partner and I travel regularly, so pet sitting has become a wonderful way for me to spend time with animals, while helping owners feels confident that their pets are receiving excellent care. I work remotely full-time, which means I’m at home throughout the day and can provide plenty of companionship, supervision and attention. All I need to work is an internet connection and a space for my laptop, and I rarely have more than 1 meeting a day. I also have a car for getting around and emergencies. Pets in my care are never left alone for extended periods, and I can easily adapt to their usual routines, whether that means regular walks, play sessions, medical needs, or simply having a calm and reassuring presence nearby. My partner and I live in a 2 story semi- detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac in Dundee. We have a secure fully fenced garden with a lawn behind the house. We are fortunate to have football fields and beautiful walking routes nearby- such as the Dighty Burn, providing plenty of opportunities for exercise and enrichment. We also own a camper van and love to travel further afield with it at the weekends, and get out on bigger walks, rides and hikes further north.
“Bailey was there again but this time for 4 days Anne sent photos and videos off Bailey on a Daily basis which is excellent just to keep me and my partner at ease worrying about our dog and went to pick Bailey up and he didn't want to leave so I am guessing he had really good fun with Anne”

“Ava had a wonderful time with Grant and Angela during her recent stay. We were nervous as this was Ava’s first time home boarding and she had recently been ill. However after an initial meet and greet at their home we had no worries and were happy to leave Ava in their very capable and caring hands. They have a great set up at home, secure garden and lovely country walks. Grant ensured we had regular updates and videos and we could see how happy Ava was on her holiday. We will definitely be home boarding Ava with them again. She didn’t want to leave! Thank you Grant and Angela for looking after Ava so well.”

“Diego is the best. Professional with a soft touch. Could not have asked for a better person for my dog. And my situation was awkward to say the least! 11/10. Best dog walker going.”

“Shuffle had a great holiday with Danielle and her family! They took such great care of him and were so responsive of his needs as a 5 month old pup. If we ever need dog-sitting again, Danielle would be our first choice. A safe and welcoming home for doggies. Thanks so much for everything!”

About: I've been enjoying using another app for house sitting pets in the owners home, have looked after 35 pets so far mostly dogs and really enjoy getting to know each beautiful soul! I'm physically and mentally strong, able to manage more demanding behaviors and with gentle patience, charm the most nervous pets. I'm a freelance community project lead so I am flexible and enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible. I love a walk to the park that backs on to my home or a bigger jaunt round to Victoria and Lochee park. I have a fenced in garden for zoomies and the park adjacent for longer stretches. We use the back door as our main door which offers additional safety as we can implement an 'airlock' system between the two internal doors 😅. Our neighborhood is a 20 zone and we live on a cul-de-sac. We have space for your crate if you would like to provide one for your dog's comfort.
“Rhiannon was very kind, thoughtful and kind towards Alfie. She asked lots of good questions about his care, and was obviously concerned to give him an enjoyable stay. She clearly succeeded- he came back relaxed and happy having had good long walks and a welcoming household to stay with. Thank you Rhiannon and family . :))))”

“Arlo absolutely loved his stay with Sabrina! As an owner who was abroad on holiday, Sabrina put all my worries to rest. Sabrina sent updates and pictures, was flexible with timings and took great care of Arlo. I can't recommend Sabrina highly enough and Arlo will be looking forward to his next stay!”

“Andi is lovely. Our J stayed with her for the first time this weekend, and it was very easy. Andi gave lots of updates throughout the stay, so we felt reassured and very comfortable. J seemed really at home when we picked her up, which was a definite thumbs up from pooch. Thanks Andi and partner. Very happy to return.”

“There are no words to describe how grateful I was to Carolanne and her family for taking care such excellent care of Lola. Five stars are not enough… I’d need 100! From the very first meet and greet I just knew Carolanne was a very special person. Lola warmed to her instantly snuggling up to her on the couch! Carolann’s treated Lola like her own and sent so many wonderful photos and updates. I could see how happy and comfortable she was and it bought me so much comfort! This is a very special family, and I 100% endorse them to look after your furry family member!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was a little girl. We have always had dogs in my family so I understand that they are members of the family. I know what it means to leave your pet in the care of someone else so I will always do it with all the care and love that they need, keeping you up to date with everything that happens. I have an 8-year-old dog named Bono with whom we have lived in Chile, France, and now Scotland (and we have also traveled to many countries together). I recently moved to Dundee and I have a lot of availability to take care of pets and walk dogs. I’m passionate about animals and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and exercise. I’m available throughout the week to walk dogs, pet-sit, and offer any other care your pet needs. Whether it's a long walk or just some quality time at home, I’m here to help! I also offer weekend availability for more flexible scheduling. I can take your dog on walks multiple times a day. I believe that regular exercise is important for every dog, and I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of outdoor time and attention. Inside my home, I make sure your dog feels safe, calm, and in a friendly environment. If your pet has any special needs, such as taking medication, I’m more than happy to follow any specific instructions to ensure their well-being.
About: I have been taking care of dogs for over 10 years. I was always the first person friends and family would go to for pet sitting or dog walking in the summer. I love all pets and would love to meet your furry friends I work part time and I’m a college student with the summer and winter breaks free. I can adjust my schedule to your needs on the day to day. I am unable to have anymore dogs in my home as I already have 2 however whenever I am with your pet wether that be on a walk or house sitting I can follow any instructions you may have and will make sure to always keep them in my eye line.
“Thank you for taking such good care of J for us, especially as you weren't well. We appreciated getting the chance to meet and chat beforehand. We're so pleased she settled so quickly. Hope she was well behaved. :) Highly recommend.”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Dundee
This is my first time using Rover and the first time leaving my spaniel with someone he didn’t know. I had a meet and greet with Andi beforehand and was instantly put at ease, he was happy around her and stayed overnight with no issues. I was sent a couple of messages and photos to let me see know how he was settling. Would definitely recommend and I’m sure Murphy would love to visit again.

Storm clearly had a really good time as she was delighted to go back and see Lewis when we had forgotten to take the food bowl, which is always a good sign. She was happy and tired after her stay. Lewis was willing to make minor changes to the times when my schedule had changed which was much appreciated

Niamh was the perfect dog sitter! She kept Artù very entertained, walked him a lot, and even set up mental stimulation games for him :) She has a dog camera, so for the short time Artù was alone, she was always able to keep an eye on him. She also regularly sent me photos and videos. I will definitely ask her to look after Artù again if I need it :)

Jill was fantastic with our dog, she showed him lots of attention and would highly recommend her. We received updates throughout + photos, our dog loved the day and had a great time both at Jill's home and out on walks too - we will be booking again soon for sure! Thanks again Jill :)

Our original sitter had to cancel, so we booked Daniel fairly last minute, but he was so helpful and flexible for us and our pup. We had a meet and greet with he and Shirley, and Ody stayed two nights at Daniel's. As a one year old working golden, Ody can be a handful but Daniel took it in stride and gave us updates on how our boy was getting on, meaning we were able to relax and enjoy our time away knowing he was in safe hands. We're certain Ody would love to stay with Daniel and Shirley again 😊

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
