“This was the first time we have an ever left our dog with a sitter and so glad it was with Becky and her lovely family. Becky put me at ease on the first meet and greet and I knew she was the prefect person straight away. The updates kept us at ease to enjoy our holiday knowing she was being well looked after . Baylee will definitely be back for another holiday with you thank you for making her feel part of your family xx”

“Big thank you to Anne for taking care of Rory. This was the first time he had been away from home overnight so I was abit nervous but after meeting Anne my mind was completely at ease. Rory had a great time 😊”

“I would like to say a big thank you to Grant for looking after our dog ,Rosie. This was Rosie’s first stay with him and we had a couple of visits to meet Grant and see where Rosie would be staying.Grant sent us videos and updates regularly and Rosie was very happy during her stay.Highly recommend Grant and definitely will have Grant watch Her again.”

“Highly recommend Grant. He’s been very patient with me and my rescue, Greg, while we eased Greg into Grant looking after him. Greg now gets out the car wagging his tail when he sees Grant and happily trots off. We’ve just done Greg’s first sleepover and it was a huge success! Grant sent me regular updates and Greg had a fab time 😄 He’s booked in again for a few weeks time”

“Caitlin was an excellent dog-sitter. Our pup seemed very happy during her stay with Caitlin who kept us up-to-date with messages and photos which were very reassuring. We’d highly recommend and plan to re-book if we need dog-sitting in the future.”

“We were a bit apprehensive about leaving our rescue staffy for the first time. Rhiannon was really great from the offset. She is quick at responding to communications, and followed Blue’s routine well. She sent some photos during his stay and he looked very settled and happy. He is reactive to other dogs, and can be very excitable so we were a bit worried how he would get on. He was absolutely fine, and we will definitely be asking Rhiannon to look after him again soon.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nicola was absolutely fantastic looking after my dog, Figgy! From the start, she made me feel completely at ease. She took wonderful care of him, giving him regular walks and plenty of attention. I especially appreciated the updates and pictures she sent throughout — it was so reassuring to see how happy and well-looked after Figgy was in her care. Nicola is reliable, kind, and clearly loves dogs. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their doggies. Thank you so much, Nicola!”

About: I have been taking care of dogs since I was a little girl. We have always had dogs in my family so I understand that they are members of the family. I know what it means to leave your pet in the care of someone else so I will always do it with all the care and love that they need, keeping you up to date with everything that happens. I have an 8-year-old dog named Bono with whom we have lived in Chile, France, and now Scotland (and we have also traveled to many countries together). I recently moved to Dundee and I have a lot of availability to take care of pets and walk dogs. I’m passionate about animals and have a dog of my own, so I understand how important it is to make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and exercise. I’m available throughout the week to walk dogs, pet-sit, and offer any other care your pet needs. Whether it's a long walk or just some quality time at home, I’m here to help! I also offer weekend availability for more flexible scheduling. I can take your dog on walks multiple times a day. I believe that regular exercise is important for every dog, and I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of outdoor time and attention. Inside my home, I make sure your dog feels safe, calm, and in a friendly environment. If your pet has any special needs, such as taking medication, I’m more than happy to follow any specific instructions to ensure their well-being.
“This is my first time using Rover and the first time leaving my spaniel with someone he didn’t know. I had a meet and greet with Andi beforehand and was instantly put at ease, he was happy around her and stayed overnight with no issues. I was sent a couple of messages and photos to let me see know how he was settling. Would definitely recommend and I’m sure Murphy would love to visit again.”

“Really excellent - Jura had such a good time with Danielle and Ian! He got lots of good walks, and Danielle kept me updated with pictures. I’d recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!”

“The service Lynh and her family provide is fantastic, and it was lovely (and relieving!) to know our pet was in good hands and having his own holiday adventures during his stay. I can’t recommend highly enough!”

“Lori was amazing with Willow and I’d highly recommend to anyone a bit nervous of leaving their dog. This is the first sleepover Willow has had with someone from Rover and my mind was at ease the entire time. I received written updates with pics and Willow got on well with the other dogs in the house 😊 She’s come back absolutely knackered so I know she’s been well looked after!”

“Tari looked after my old wee Maltese dog. Was my first time booking a dog sitter so was very nervous but she was very accommodating and sent photo updates all day. Made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog with her. Would strongly recommend her <3”

“I am so so happy with the care Leah offered my collie Scout. He received long country walks as well as playing in her garden with her dog Ripley. Scout was more than happy staying in Leah’s house and settled well after being out. He received a bath after a mucky walk and was happy playing with toys along with Ripley. I have no hesitation in recommending Leah as a first class sitter. Thank you so much for caring for Scout and perhaps meet you again in the future.”

“Aleksandra was great with our dog Murphy, she's friendly and communication was good from the first message I sent her. Seems like Murphy really enjoyed his week with her and we'll be more than happy to have him stay with her in future.”

“Another brilliant sit from Charlene. This time Meg visited her at home for 2 nights. She sent lots of pictures and updates about how Meg was getting on, which made me feel completely reassured. Thank you so much! 🐾 🤎”

“Maggie looked after our very excitable 7 month puppy for a long weekend. She was excellent with him and he came back a happy boy. Great contact and updates throughout his stay which was appreciated after only having him a few weeks ourselves. Would highly recommend.”

“This was our first experience of home boarding our elderly beagle Lexi (age 15). We were understandably nervous due to her age and quirks, however Julie & Steve put us at our ease immediately with their kind, friendly manner. It is clear they are dog lovers and Lexi took to them straight away. They kept us informed of how she was getting on including pics where we could see she had made herself right at home! Could not recommend them highly enough, lovely genuine people who provide a 5 star service ⭐️thanks again! John, Lynn & Lexi”

“Natalia went above and beyond to cater for Bella’s needs. She sent loads of great pictures and videos of Bella having a great time. I can’t thank her enough, we will definitely be back!”

We were so pleased with Anya she is a lovely person . Buddy was well looking after done lots of different things with him, he made new dog friends, loved the regular photos and video updates, he was getting lots of cuddles and attention. We would definitely get Anya to take Buddy again. Would highly recommend anyone to use Anya. Thank you so much again for looking after our boy ❤️

Our labradoodle stayed with Elin for 2 weeks this time as we had a special holiday booked. We had used Elin before for a shorter time so were confident to leave her for longer this time. We were very happy with the care given by Elin and she gave us regular updates and photos showing how happy our dog was and what they’d been up to. We just picked up a very happy and healthy dog and have her booked in again soon! Thank you Elin!

Niamh was the perfect dog sitter! She kept Artù very entertained, walked him a lot, and even set up mental stimulation games for him :) She has a dog camera, so for the short time Artù was alone, she was always able to keep an eye on him. She also regularly sent me photos and videos. I will definitely ask her to look after Artù again if I need it :)

Jill was fantastic with our dog, she showed him lots of attention and would highly recommend her. We received updates throughout + photos, our dog loved the day and had a great time both at Jill's home and out on walks too - we will be booking again soon for sure! Thanks again Jill :)

Our original sitter had to cancel, so we booked Daniel fairly last minute, but he was so helpful and flexible for us and our pup. We had a meet and greet with he and Shirley, and Ody stayed two nights at Daniel's. As a one year old working golden, Ody can be a handful but Daniel took it in stride and gave us updates on how our boy was getting on, meaning we were able to relax and enjoy our time away knowing he was in safe hands. We're certain Ody would love to stay with Daniel and Shirley again 😊

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
