Julie and Steve provided excellent care for my dog. He came home very happy, well exercised and very well cared for. They had noticed his moods, his needs and coped brilliantly with him. I have no hesitation in recommending them as carers to other dog owners.

Abbigael provides consistently great care for my dog. He is always relaxed, calm and happy when he returns to me. She sends brilliant pictures too, showing him on wonderful beach and countryside walks. His paw was a bit tender when I dropped him off this time and she looked after that too. She is a great dog sitter!

Akira had a fabulous time at Samuel’s! He took very good care of her and sent me frequent updates with pics and videos, which was very heartwarming. Akira and Phoebe got along really well and Sam took them hiking and on really nice walks. I’m very grateful for Samuel, he’s extremely reliable and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend him!

I couldn’t have asked for better care for Milly! From the moment we got in touch, communication was excellent and reassuring. They clearly have a real love for dogs and treated Milly as one of their own. She came back relaxed, happy, and well looked after — it was such a relief knowing she was in safe hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend them to others. Thank you so much!

Our Rottweiler Lou clearly enjoys expending time with Lynh, Teddy and the rest of the family. Second time we left Lou with them, and she never looked back at us when we left her! We will be using Lynch again in the future.

First time I have left Basil with anyone for overnight stays, oh my gosh! Rachel came and met Basil prior to the home stay, she’s most definitely a doggies best friend! Basil took to her straight off, and she immediately put me at ease! Basil had the best time with her, he’s a big dog and she very kindly gave him big walks and much loving! She sent us a wonderful stream of fun photos, which allowed us to relax into our wknd away! A big shout out for Rachel 👏👏👏👏

Harris and Maria were absolutely wonderful with our dog Zizi! She stayed with them for two weeks and came back home happy, healthy, and full of energy. They sent us daily updates with lots of photos and videos, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear they took the time to understand what Zizi likes and how she plays — she truly had a holiday of her own! We couldn’t have asked for better care and will definitely be back. Thank you both so much!

We had never used Rover before and couldn’t have had a better experience with Jessica. From the outset Jessica was incredible, taking the time to meet Peach and show us around her home while asking very thoughtful and considerate questions about her care. During her stay, Jessica sent us lots of updates which we loved, and it was clear that Peach was extremely well taken care of throughout the week! We’re so grateful to have met Jessica and will most definitely be returning when we next need a dog sitter. Thank you Jessica!

I picked Bear up from Debbie’s and as usual he was excited to see me. He was in tip top condition and looked like he was enjoying life. Only thing that would have made it better was saying our goodbyes to Debbie. Thank you for having Bear. I would absolutely use Debbie’s services again if the family were not able as this time. ❤️

Superhappy with Lorenzo and partner for taking care of our pup Buddy. We've met at the park prior to make sure our dogs got along and we didn't need to worry - Chai and Kambudscho took to Buddy instantly. Communication has been great also and we were able to make changes at the last minute (he was meant to stay overnight but were able to pick him up that night due to work schedule changes. Buddy was so happy and tired when he came back with us. We'll definitely book another puppy date soon😊

Millie & Rubi had a great first overnight stay with Becky! We received lots of photos while they were there and they seemed so happy, chilling on the couch with the family or out on their walks. Communication was really good beforehand, I felt relaxed about leaving them there. When we picked them up they were so chilled, like they’d just had a really nice time. Very happy to be putting them back next month! Would highly recommend Becky!

Molly had a great 10 days with Abbie, Alex and Juniper. Abbie took great care in finding out about her needs, meeting her a couple of times beforehand and introducing her to the ever-patient Juniper. She sent reassuring photos of Molly on long adventurous walks and looking very much at home on the sofa. Thank you!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Dog Boarding in Fife on Rover is £31.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Dog Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Dog Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
