Victoria and her family was fabulous with our dog. They were very attentive and wanting to know everything she needs to stay comfortably. My dog had an operation two weeks before her stay and they truly paid attention as to what will be best for her. The children showered her with love, but were respectful not to overstimulate. The back garden is large, but Rowan was mainly taken for walks, as she was not allow to play too vigorously due to the surgery. She did not want to leave upon my return! Also, I am grateful to Victoria for one favour she did, due to a small mistake I have made.

I can’t describe what a stress free experience leaving Cooper with John and his Family was. Our pup is 4, and we have never left her with anyone overnight before. I felt nauseous as the dates approached. John was completely understanding of this - he’s an experienced dog owner and sitter - and I had absolutely nothing to worry about. John was so in tune with Cooper - he read her signals, and changed the household pattern to suit her needs. She was really treated like another member of their family, and we just could not have asked for more. She was safe, happy and comfortable with people and dogs with her at all times. We feel incredibly lucky to have found John, would absolutely be happy to use his care again, and have no hesitation in recommending him. John - thank you again.

Marvin spent his first ever night away from home with Derek and we couldn't be more delighted with the care he received. Derek and his wife were so good with him, lovely people and know their stuff, clearly. We felt so comfortable leaving Marvin with them and know he was well looked after. We got regular updates - videos and pictures which was much appreciated. Thank you so much. Marvin will be back for another holiday soon :)

Lexi had the best time with Kim. It is obvious that Kim is a natural dog lover and Lexi took to her straight away. We were a little anxious leaving Lexi for the week but Kim sent photos, videos and updates which reassured us she was having a great time. Long walks in fields, the river and meeting other dogs. Lots of cuddles too- just what she likes. I think she is actually better behaved after a week with Kim! Highly recommended.

Number One Dog Holiday Destination” say Kiki & Hector, our two energetic Weimaraners. This is our second visit to Agata, and it really is like home for home for our two. We get great updates and photos of their stay, and hear about the walks and all the fun things Agata does to keep our two entertained and enriched. Our two can be a bit of a handful sometimes, being two big strong dogs, but Agata is great with them on walks and managing their energy and temperament.

About: Hello, I'm Caroline, a lifelong dog lover and proud dog mum to two wonderful dogs—a rescued Spanish Galga and a small Jack Russell. Dogs aren't just pets to me, they're family. My own dogs are at the heart of everything I do, and I know how difficult it can be to leave them in someone else's care. That's why I offer a genuine home-from-home experience where every dog is treated with the same love, patience, and kindness as my own. Having cared for rescue dogs with different personalities and needs, I understand that every dog is unique. Whether they're energetic and playful, a little shy, or simply enjoy a quiet cuddle on the sofa, I'll take the time to get to know them and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I believe dogs thrive in a calm, caring home environment where they receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and routine. Your dog's happiness, wellbeing, and safety will always be my top priority, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax, knowing they're having their own little holiday. When your dog stays with me, they won't just be boarded—they'll become part of the family. As a stay at home Dog Mum, Wife & Mum, your pet will never be alone or feel lonely. I have a laid back home, relaxed & easy going. There are some lovely walks in the area & an enclosed dog park. Walks will be on-lead as safety is paramount whilst in my care. A typical day would include up early, breakfast, walk then weather dependent they can come & go in the secure back garden. Afternoon walk, dinner time & an evening stroll before settling down for the night. I have a fully fenced/gated back garden (photo's in gallery) & the dogs just come in & out of the house as they please. When the sun is out the outdoor beds are placed in the shade with ample fresh water & doggy toys.

What a superb service, the app is easy to use and informative. Jessica the dog sitter was amazing with my elderly border terrier, I received several photos and updates throughout her stay which removed any stress I may have had while attending a family funeral. I would highly recommend Jessica.

Debbie was nothing short of wonderful with my dogs. They were so happy and excited to go back to her the second time, which says everything about how comfortable and cared for they felt in her home. They've stayed with her for a full week before as well, and every time I’ve had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such kind and capable hands. She is genuinely one of the sweetest, gentlest people I’ve met, and it’s clear how much love and care she gives the dogs she looks after. She's also very experienced with dogs, and I didn’t have to worry about a thing and was so grateful for how well she cared for them. I would recommend her without hesitation and will be using her services again!!

We couldn’t have been happier with the care Jessica gave Rocky, our little Pomeranian. She was incredibly friendly, caring and professional from start to finish. Before we left Rocky, she answered all our questions and put our minds at ease. During his stay, she sent daily updates and videos, and was always available on the phone if we had any concerns. After we collected him, it was clear how happy and settled he had been. Rocky became so attached to Jessica, which gave us complete confidence that he was genuinely cared for. We wouldn’t hesitate to leave Rocky with her again and highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring dog sitter.

Caity looked after our spaniel Rufus for a couple of days whilst my partner and I were working. Unfortunately, Rufus had badly injured his foot just before his stay but Caity was amazing with him. Not only did she do a tremendously good job of looking after him, but she was great at keeping us updated with how Rufus was doing. Thank you, Caity, for being so wonderful in such difficult circumstances.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
