About: Ive had 2 dogs for the last 17yrs . Of which we had 2 litters from . I adored the whole journey from puppy to seniors all come with different challenges and demands but Sooo rewarding to have relationships and experiences together. Since my 2 dogs have passed find myself caring for friends and family's pets .. so it seems the natural order to board for those who dont have that facility. I love having the company of dogs in my home. Gets me out exploring our beautiful walks . I am at home most days although I have an art workshop close by so can often be found there. In which case the dogs come with me and have space to raom there securely too. So I am around for enjoying each other's company and there for treats cuddles and toilet breaks . I live in a home with both front and back garden both fully enclosed . Although I do like to make use of our many gorgeous walks locally so aren't stuck in one place all day. I can offer a crate for your dog to sleep in if required although happily have them loose if they prefer.
“Naomi has been life saver and really great. She knows what she's doing, and was very accomodating for a first time and last minute booking. Caoimhe had a great day and I had peace of mind. Would 100% call for her services again. Thanks again Naomi !”

“Katie was absolutely amazing with our dog. She maintained great communication and was super flexible. Our dog clearly loved spending the day with her as on the second day she ran straight in without a second glance!”

“Our puppy stayed with Naveen and her parents for several days while I was at work. Our puppy received excellent care and was always delighted every morning at drop off. I received photos, videos and message updates during the day and the communication was always excellent. I can wholeheartedly recommend this service to anyone considering using it.”

“Monika was great with our anxious labradoodle. Photos of the day's activities were sent which was reassuring. Ivy had a good day with a big walk and plenty running around, then some relaxation time on the sofa. Looking forward to more stays at Monika's”

“Very happy with the care Selkie received. Claire was great with communications, and very patient when I had problems with the Rover app while abroad. Would absolutely deal with Claire again.”

“Great. Lots of walks and Jacqueline was so flexible about pick up and drop off timer. Really friendly and Charlie seemed to be very happy staying at her house too. Definitely will use Jacqueline again.”

“Rekha is just amazing, my little cooper just adores her and her lovely dog Nuba. He had just first sleep over at her house and you can tell she made it really comfortable for him. Cooper loves going to her house, so much so, when we try and bring him home, he wants to stay! Would definitely recommend. ❤️”

“Derek and Angela were amazing with our lab Wally. Their communication was excellent, they were really flexible with timings and we could see through the photos, videos and during pick up/drop off that they were giving him lots of love and care. We really appreciate it. Will definitely be booking again! Thank you”

“So delighted to have discovered Siyi. She is very caring and thoughtful, checking if Sherlock could eat certain treats and whether it was ok to give him healthy snacks she had prepared herself. I felt extremely confident handing him over to her for the day and can tell he had a really good time. I will certainly be in touch with Siyi again. Thank you!”

About: I was a dog walker for around 2 years pre covid. I love all breeds and sizes of dogs! My partner and son who I live with share my love for dogs.. thankfully! I am a self employed cleaner in houses around my street, I will always be close to home. We are an outdoor loving family (son goes to outdoor nursery) and are always going on walks in the fields behind us/woods around our town. *please note, we are located in the EH22 postcode area* I have a fenced back garden and I have space for a dog crate if need be. Pets can be fed inside or outside, whichever is preferred. My partner Michael, who can be seen in my profile picture, will be home with myself when caring for your pet. He's also a pet lover who is brilliant at giving ear and belly rubs. If your pet is up to it, they can have a go in his work van!

About: Hello, I'm Ewa I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up surrounded by them, and in Poland I have three dogs of my own – two small and one medium-sized. Since moving to the UK, I miss them very much, so spending time with dogs here brings me real happiness. Looking after dogs has always been a natural part of my life. I've cared for my own dogs as well as dogs belonging to family and friends. I enjoy long walks, playtime and quiet moments too. Every dog is different, so I always take the time to understand their routine and make them feel safe and comfortable. I offer dog walking, home visits, daycare and care in my own home. I live in a quiet flat with access to a large shared garden. To make sure every dog gets plenty of attention, I only welcome one dog at a time (or two from the same household). I have very flexible working hours, so I can easily find time for walks with your pet. Sometimes I have to go away for a few weeks on business, but I think that everything can be arranged and adjusted. I make sure every pet is safe, comfortable and well cared for. I always follow the owner’s instructions, including feeding and walking routines. I live in a tenement with access to a large garden, where dogs can enjoy fresh air under supervision. I also provide regular walks, attention and a calm, pet-friendly environment. I treat every pet with care and make sure they feel relaxed and secure.
“Celeste took great care of our energetic spaniel for the day as a ‘tester’ for longer stays in the future. Bella was very pleased to meet Celeste’s dog and i had no concerns leaving her. I came to collect her to find her very content after lots of keeping everyone company and a good walk. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Celeste to others and have already booked Bella’s next stay! Thanks again to Celeste and her family.”

About: I am a deaf Scottish bikepacker with a love of dogs and cats. I have a mixed chocolate Labrador dog named Molly back home in Edinburgh, who is very lovable with a huge personality. I also had a cat called Socks who used to love coming on walks with me and the dog through the park and up the Braid Hills. Over the past year since I started providing my services I have looked after a cat for a family on holiday, a spaniel puppy for a couple, and I looked after my neighbour's two labrador dogs Zephyr and Pyrrha for a month house-sitting while my neighbour was away on holiday. So I have experience house-sitting at someone else's place. I am flexible when it comes to short-term or long-term arrangements, with different breeds and range of ages from puppy to elderly. I have also had experience and the ability to handle larger dogs such as Irish Wolfhounds, such as during my bike-packing adventures through Ireland. I find that animals are naturally drawn to me and feel easy going with me. I am very observant of dogs' body language, and I wear a hearing aid so I am able to hear if that's the case. I am a bikepacker currently at home, not travelling at the moment. As I move to a different location, if I am travelling, I usually update where I am as I normally stay in an area for 3-7 days. I provide pet care as a way to make some extra income while I travel. Very flexible with the duration of time staying at a pet owner's house. Possibly long-term of multiple months, with daily pet care (multiple walks, exercise, treats, wash/baths). Dogs and cats are naturally drawn to me and almost always approach me in public. I am very laidback and easygoing but I can be firm when needed to be. Capable of handling large dogs such as Irish Wolfhounds, as i have experience walking them. I am 6ft4 and strong enough to keep Irish Wolfhounds heeled. Since I am deaf, I am very observant. Though I do wear hearing aids and am able to hear dog and cat sounds (barks, whining, meowing etc), I rely more on my visual skills, so this enables me to develop a good rapport with the animals I care for. I am very attentive to the needs of pets in my care, and I will ensure they look to me for guidance.
“Ivy seems to have had a great day with Liam and his own dog, playing and going for a long walk in the countryside, and downtime relaxing at home. Good feedback from Liam about how Ivy settled down. Highly recommend Liam whose experience with dogs is evident.”

“Archie had had a fantastic time with Guilia and she is a very considerate person. I am very glad I met her and recommend her for your dog care. Thank you for all the help.”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee.
