She is observant, excellent with even difficult to manage dogs, knows how to read subtle signs in animals indicative of illness or fear. One of her best qualities as a caregiver is her patience. “It is very stressful to suddenly have a very sick cat and Elaine has been invaluable in helping us cope. I had never ever heard of diabetes in cats. Giving our cat insulin was at first very challenging for my partner and me. Elaine demonstrated that it could be done with ease, and we learn from her calm, patient manner. Her support and reassurance helped us so much in those early days. Elaine's manner and demeanour were of someone completely confident and at ease with both us and our cats. She exudes warmth and you can tell she is naturally very caring, bringing years of experience of working with people and putting them at ease! She had us and the cats completely relaxed almost instantly. Since that first meeting, Elaine continues to be a valuable source of support. Helping with the routine insulin injections and doing routine BG checks and obtaining urine samples. I don't know if we would have coped without her in those first two weeks, She has been reliable and has been great at communicating and giving feedback.
