“Great! The dogs both seemed to have a ball when staying with Kirsty & family. We picked up to tired but happy pups. Great to know they are in a lovely family home being looked after well when we are away. Next stay is booked already!”

“Michelle and her partner took such good care of our wee Ruby. We felt very reassured and always got updates from Michelle. Ruby got on well with their cockapoo Ronny aswell. Would recommend Michelle for all your furry friends!”

About: We have around 2 years of experience caring for dogs through helping my mum with her dog-sitting business. We regularly help with feeding, walking, playtime and taking dogs to dog parks, and have experience with dogs of different sizes and personalities. We have had dogs since birth so we are very confident in looking after dogs. We have a large garden with a high, secure fence, giving dogs plenty of safe space to play and explore. We also have indoor rabbits, but they are kept separately in a secure, lockable room, so dogs will have no access to them. We’re responsible, caring and will treat every dog as if they were our own. Joseph and I work opposite shifts, so there will always be someone at home with your dog. There will never be a time where they are left alone.🐶❤️ We have a large, secure garden with a newly renovated, high and sturdy fence, with no gaps for even the cheekiest wee escape artists! 🐾 Our home is fully secured with CCTV covering the front, back and sides of the property, providing an extra layer of security. We also have indoor rabbits, but they are kept separately in a secure, lockable room that dogs cannot access. We love getting out for walks and are happy to explore anywhere, including taking dogs in the car for lovely scenic walks if they are comfortable travelling. We can also take dogs to secure doggy parks where they can safely run off the lead and have fun. At home, there will be plenty of playtime, whether that's indoor or out in the garden, as well as lots of cuddles and relaxing on the couch. We’ll always follow your dog’s routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable and well cared for. ❤️
“Fantastic. I've never used Rover before and this has been a great experience! Short notice and I was in a pinch, Paul came through for me like a hero! Paul was very polite and welcoming, we had a breif but informatice introduction as I dropped my pooch off and was respecful of my dog habbit requests. He looked after my dog very well, including sending occasional updates or pictures of the mischief my dog was getting up to. I think my dog thought she was at the Ritz! Paul is very responsive when it comes to communication. 10/10 satisfaction! I couldn't have asked for a better sitter. Thanks Paul, 100% recommend!”

“Thank you so much for looking after toff, especially at such short notice. The updates were perfect, and he was clearly very happy to spend the week with boy Rebecca’s dogs. We would definitely use again, and I will try locate toffs off button so he is welcome back 🤣”

“Natalie did a fantastic job of looking after my wee Alfie boy he was treated like the spoiled wee pup that he is and Natalie sent regular pup dates Alfie was very happy once he got settled in and enjoyed his stay I would deffo recommend Natalie and her family to anyone looking for a pet sitter”

“Katy and Chris were fantastic! Ruby had such a good time while she stayed with them. She got on so well with her buddy Tiger their golden retriever. We felt very reassured throughout her stay because Katy was excellent at keeping in touch with us with pictures and updating us what they all got up to. Will definitely book again and highly recommend Katy and Chris for your furry friends :)”

“Amy made us feel so comfortable with leaving our dogs with her. She was easily able to follow our dogs routines ( medication, allergy accommodations, specialized diets) and provided us with cute pictures and updates every day. She was so communicative and our dogs loved playing in the backyard and being part of her pack! We feel so much more comfortable going on vacations now, knowing they are in Amy’s care.”

About: I am a young, fit individual who loves going on walks and spending time with animals🐾🏔️☺️ I can provide daily visits for dogs (or cats), dog walking, doggy day care or at times overnight boarding! For overnight boarding the dogs are allowed on the sofa, and there are lots of toys and balls to play with here too☺️ I have had dogs my whole life, starting with labradors and now border terriers. My own dog Teddy has a diagnosis of epilepsy so I am able to manage dogs with medical conditions well. I have access to a car and can drive to any appointments🚘 If my availability doesn’t suit, don’t hesitate to send a request or message anyways and I will see what I can do. My partner often helps me too if I am unavailable🥰 I currently work full time through a shift schedule. However I often have spare time on my hands during days off on which I would love to go a walk or help out other dog owners. I can also provide overnight boarding for well behaved, socialised dogs. When in someone else’s home I will respect any instructions given to me. I can bring my own dog on walks (if wanted) to keep company.
“Our 8yo Cockapoo had a ball staying with Joanna. Her stay there was everything that you would want for your dog. Staying in a family home in the country with excellent walks around the area. Joanna was very switched on to the habits and routines of my dog and I was confident that I was leaving her in good hands. Joanna was also very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times.”

“Wonderful dog sitters - our dog Flori had a wonderful time and kept us up to date with pictures and messages about how she was which was very helpful. Flori has lots of health issues and I felt really happy leaving her with Ellie and Adrian knowing they will take good care of her!”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
