“Alexandra and Matt looked after Woody who is a hyper 2 year old spaniel! So friendly and reassuring as soon as we arrived at their place and Woody instantly took to her! Regular updates and photos/videos throughout his stay and he was knackered when we collected him. Would 100% recommend Alexandra and Matt 😊”

“Fantastic sitter and such a lovely person. Booking for mine and my mums dog, my mum was quite nervous leaving her senior dog for a few nights but can't believe how settled she was. Both of our girls have come back happy and relaxed”

About: I have had dogs throughout my entire life and have grown up around a variety of breeds, sizes, and personalities. Over the years, I have cared for both small and large dogs, including Jack Russell Terriers, Chihuahuas, Weimaraners, and other larger breeds. Having lifelong experience with dogs has helped me become confident in understanding their different needs, behaviours, routines, and temperaments. In addition to caring for family pets, I regularly look after my partner’s mother’s dog whenever she travels. This has included longer periods of responsibility, such as caring for her dog while she was in Australia for 3–5 weeks at a time. During these stays, I have been responsible for all aspects of the dog’s daily care, including feeding, walking, exercise, playtime, companionship, maintaining routines, and ensuring their overall wellbeing and happiness while their owner is away. I understand how important it is for pet owners to know their dogs are safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention when they cannot be there themselves. I pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy, and attentive, always treating every dog as if they were my own. Whether a dog enjoys long walks and lots of activity or prefers a quieter routine with plenty of affection and companionship, I am happy to adapt to their individual needs. My lifelong love of dogs means I genuinely enjoy spending time with them, getting to know their personalities, and making sure they feel secure, happy, and cared for. I am committed to providing a positive experience for both pets and their owners through dependable care, regular updates, and plenty of love and attention. I am currently taking a career break and wanting to go down the dog boarding route so thinking this will be the best route to carry on my skills and experience. I will be available everyday. I have a large enclosed back garden with a six foot fence around so plenty of room to play safely :) I have no other pets.
“Harriet, James and Desmond the dachshund were very welcoming of Barney. The photos of Barney relaxing on the sofa and on a walk with Desmond the next morning after his sleepover were very reassuring. We will definitely use Harriet again in the future to look after Barney when we are away. Thank you.”

“Sharon was very welcoming and took great care of our greyhound Louis for an overnight stay in their home. She provided lots of updates and went on some lovely looking walks, with pictures provided too so we could see that Louis was having fun adventures and also settled in nicely for snoozes. Would highly recommend!”

“Megan was the perfect host for our Boston terrier Rocky.full attention to detail regarding Rockys needs and care, regular updates and photos.Rocky had a lovely time and we were very comfortable leaving him for the first time.Rest assured your dog will be in good hands ?”
“Hunter and Monty have just got back from an amazing weekend stay with Katrina. She has looked after them so well with lovely walks, games and chill times on the setee, sending us regular photos and videos to keep us updated of their adventures. Katrina was also happy to deal with their raw food diet and medication which was great. I would wholeheartedly recommend Katrina as a great person to look after your dogs and will definitely be using her again.”

“Excellent level of care of my dog Buddy. Savannah was very organised, had a nice structured daily routine for the dogs staying with her, and took the time to have a practice run getting to know Buddy before his 10day stay. She clearly adores dogs and was so lovely with Buddy, treating him with love and care and making sure he had a great time. He was very well cared for and the daily updates and photos she sent me at the end of the day were really appreciated and showed what he’d been up to throughout the day. I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook in future. Thank you so much.”

“When I went to pick up Lenny and Boo from Helen for a nights stay they didn’t seem best pleased to see me so I knew then they were very happy. Helen was very friendly towards me and my 2 dogs so I knew she was a prefect match for all of us. I don’t ever leave Lenny and Boo but now I have found Helen I will feel when needed comfortable to leave them. I would highly recommend Helen but not too much because if she gets too busy it will be hard for me to get a booking lol”

“Angela and Paul provided a perfect home for our boy Murphy. We both felt at ease as soon as we met the couple, as was Murphy. This instant connection made our decision easy to book Angela. Whilst we were away, we were kept up to date with pictures and videos of Murphy who looked to be having an amazing time and wasn’t missing us at all. I can’t recommend Angela and Paul enough and would absolutely trust them with our precious boy in the future.”

“Fantastic service from Cora and all the dogs loved her. She arrived earlier than expected and stayed all day to look after our dogs whilst we were attending a family wedding. Cora is a lovely kind person and I would recommend her services to anyone. Thanks again Cora x”

“Lexie what’s a great Sitter for our dog Parker. She offered to come and meet him beforehand so she could get to know him and his needs. She sent photos while we were away and he seemed very happy and comfortable there. Would use again.”

About: I am a young, fit individual who loves going on walks and spending time with animals🐾🏔️☺️ I can provide daily visits for dogs (or cats), dog walking, doggy day care or at times overnight boarding! For overnight boarding the dogs are allowed on the sofa, and there are lots of toys and balls to play with here too☺️ I have had dogs my whole life, starting with labradors and now border terriers. My own dog Teddy has a diagnosis of epilepsy so I am able to manage dogs with medical conditions well. I have access to a car and can drive to any appointments🚘 If my availability doesn’t suit, don’t hesitate to send a request or message anyways and I will see what I can do. My partner often helps me too if I am unavailable🥰 I currently work full time through a shift schedule. However I often have spare time on my hands during days off on which I would love to go a walk or help out other dog owners. I can also provide overnight boarding for well behaved, socialised dogs. When in someone else’s home I will respect any instructions given to me. I can bring my own dog on walks (if wanted) to keep company.
“Used Mollie for the first time at the weekend and our dog Sadie was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away. I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Thank you for looking after our precious pooch.”

“Rebecca and Jamie did a fantastic job at looking after Ruby. She had such a good time at their house with their 2 dogs. She got loads of exercise and learned new sills while staying with them. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
