“Matt and his partner Zoe took great care of our dog Lumi, they sent regular updates of what they were getting up to and kept Lumi busy and active. Matt and Zoe made Lumi a part of their lives for the 6 nights she was with them and it looked like she had a great time! Thanks.”

About: Dog owner from childhood that has extended into adulthood. Currently have a 11yr old Staffy x Lab which I have had since she was 8 weeks old. Passionate about animals, also a horse owner and I love the outdoors and long walks. Pet care fits into my daily life well. I live a 5 minute walk from Morecambe promenade. Plenty of walking available in the surrounding villages and towns. I am a nurse who is lucky enough to have a flexible rotation. So have plenty of opportunities to work both as a nurse and a dog sitter. Pets that come to stay follow the same routine as they would in their normal environment. Home from home experience. Bring with you all that your dog requires to keep them as settled and as comfortable as possible.

About: Hi I'm Megan- from Lancaster a long life animal lover with a passion for animals I have always loved animals from an early age growing up we always had pets from chickens to dogs and cats. When I turned 16 I started working at an animal farm working with a range of animals from farm animals to alpacas ,goats, owls, deers horses and small animals walking feeding and cleaning them on a daily basis my stepdad has 2 horses that I look after called tommy and colin and I also have my own pet rabbit called Daisy and my boyfriend has a dog called reggie (roo) a pug( we are also more than happy to get someone to look after him if your dog does not like other dogs) My motivation to become a pet sitter comes from the love I get from animals I believe that all animals should have the same love as any member of my family i offer lots of services from to drop off visits, dog walking to sitting in your home or my home when you book with me you can expect regular updates and photos and plenty of outdoor time for your pet if they are allowed I aim to provide and loving environment for your pet.i have been raised around animals and have worked with them so you can expect your pets to be trusted around me. we can also meet and familiarise Your cat or dog with me if that would help I tailor every walk or stay to suit your pets needs whether that means quiet companionship and cuddles or extra reassurance I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends megan and bob x I’m currently not working which means I will have plenty of availability, I am very reliable and can work weekdays and weekends any time of the day I always make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable and cared for while they are with me. I follow their normal routine and the owner’s instructions, including feeding, walks, toilet breaks and playtime. I give each pet plenty of attention and company, while also respecting their space and individual needs. I keep their environment clean and make sure they are supervised and safe at all times. I also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they know their pet is happy and settled.
“What an amazing couple, we left our Cockapoo Patrick overnight and were given several updates throughout his stay, including videos and pictures, they are very professional, we will definately be using them again, if we could give 10 stars we would, thank you so much again to you both 😀”

“Daisy 2nd day care with Liv and she had so much fun playing with her doggies going on a little adventure walk and overall just having doggy fun. Lots of updates which is always lovely helps out my mind at rest as I hate leaving her but I know she is in safe and loving hands. Thanks Liv xx”

“If you’ve got a reactive dog, you can be sure they’ll be well looked after with Reece and Lucy! In the past I’ve been so worried about leaving my cocker spaniel with sitters, but from the moment we met I could see how much these two really care about dogs and therefore would prioritise Otis’ comfort, looking out for him and having plans in place for moments where he might have gotten stressed. It turns out this was barely needed as clearly Otis felt right at home from the off, and he didn’t have a single moment of reactivity the whole weekend - which is amazing and absolutely testament to the great care that he was shown. I felt really relaxed about leaving Otis with Reece and Lucy, and I’d 100% do this again. Great comms before and during Otis’ stay too. Thank you both!!”

“Poppy is amazing! Our 5-month old puppy, Bobby, stayed with her for 13 days. All throughout the long stay, I felt happy with the regular photo updates and check ins. Bobby was so well looked after with lots of fun walks in the green area around, he was even showered and brushed! I highly recommended Poppy 🌟 it’s our second stay with her and it will definitely not be the last. Thank you for everything!!!”

“It is such a relief to know that our boy Chester is so well looked after at Pete’s. We receive regular updates and photos and Chester appears to really enjoy his holiday there. When your dog is with Pete, he isn't just looking after your dog, your dog be ones part of the family and is treated amazingly.”

“I am always a little concerned leaving Lola with anyone. As she didn't have a good start in life. I had a very good feeling on our first meeting with Ian and Tracy. I immediately felt at ease as they clearly experienced and comfortable with dogs. They have two dogs of their own and Lola was happy to be with them. I always feel a little nervous and guilty when we go away. So to have someone like Ian and Tracy who reassures you, that she will be well looked after, gives you peace of mind. Excellent communication received, with regular updates and photos, this all helped us. Lola had lots of walks and play time, she was very happy and relaxed when we picked her up. ` I will definitely be using Ian and Tracy again. I highly recommend them for dog boarding. Thank you again.”

“Such a lovely family and so friendly. We felt so confident leaving our doggies in their hands and we could tell the dogs loved every minute!! We got updates regularly and pictures sent over to us! Highly recommend.”

“From the moment Hector met Nicola we knew he would be in safe hands. He can be a bit of nervous dog until he gets to know a person and she immediately made him feel at home getting down to his level. According to Nicola they had a nice four days together and he loved his swims in the nearby beck and he was very chilled throughout. Looking forward to his next stay. Thank you so much Nicola.”

Teddie was so relaxed and comfortable with Reece on his first overnight visit. Reece alleviated any anxieties I had by communicating with me and reassuring me and sent pictures of teddie. I would highly recommend and teddie will be staying again. It’s like home from home ❤️

Matt and his partner Zoe took great care of our dog Lumi, they sent regular updates of what they were getting up to and kept Lumi busy and active. Matt and Zoe made Lumi a part of their lives for the 6 nights she was with them and it looked like she had a great time! Thanks.

It was our first time leaving Willow over night at a dog sitters so I was quite anxious. Will and Tor put our worries to rest in no time. Willow was so excited to see them. She had a lovely time and we got regular updates with photos. She'll definitely be back. Thanks so much guys!

Little Louis is our world so knowing he’s in loving and caring hands is a great feeling when we are travelling. Our little boy always comes back to us calm and relaxed. I highly recommend Phillip as he’s very professional and sends lots of photos of Louis on his lap and sleeping.

First time Teddy had stayed away from home where I didn’t necessarily know them. Nikky picked him up from mine which helped me out massively as I don’t drive. She sent me updates throughout his stay including photos. This made me feel a lot better about being away. She updated me when she dropped him off also. I’ve already asked Nikky to look after Teddy again!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in North West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
