About: We had a dog as children I later owned two dogs, Daisy and Bongo (in photo gallery). In Italy, where I managed a study centre, I looked after the owners dog during their winter absence. In Yorkshire I worked in the office and house of a stud farm and looked after Bonzo the office dog. Recently, for 4 years, I walked, swam and went on adventures with a lovely bearded collie, Nelson, until he died, which was heart breaking. John, his owner, has provided a reference. Last year I joined a house sitting site and had a great year. I first looked after Rhubarb, in Yorkshire. a sun worshipper who knew when she wanted to go for a walk, and when she didn't. Then it was Reggie, a one year old terrier who kept me on my toes and was an absolute character. Then it was Knaresborough with Mollie and Maisie, the cutest, sweetest most loving pair. Lula was an anxious little Tibetan terrier who liked sleeping, a lot, and going for quiet walks on Ilkley Moor and in the woods.She even decided the river was quite nice to chill in. They all feature in the rogues gallery. Two of the owners have given references. Having lived all over the world I returned to the UK to retire. I am available from mid March until the end of October/mid November - I don't do English winters. I am totally free of commitments and can dog sit in someone's home for one to three weeks but am flexible on dates. I prefer countryside sits in new places, Yorkshire, Lakes, Lancashire coast. I could have your dog stay with me, if I am not booked on an away stay. Only older smaller dogs to stay with me please. I live opposite the beach so plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. I love the countryside, walking, swimming, reading, creative writing and painting - so am equally as happy sitting at home quietly if your dog is more of a home body! Last year was great. I had the company of some fabulous dogs. We visited National Trust properties. Walked favourite places. Explored woods. Swam in rivers. Went on car trips. Hung around in the garden at home. Had grooming sessions and belly rubs, well that's the dogs, not me. And cuddled on the couch. I met some adorable dogs and lovely owners and visited some fantastic places. I'm hoping for more of the same this year. I absolutely love dogs and for some reason dogs always adore me, even the anxious little Lula took to me straight away. All dogs are different and I'm happy to follow feeding and walking regimes. I'm good at ball throwing, belly rubbing, grooming, cuddling up and watching TV in the evenings.

About: I grew up around animals and have a love for dogs and cats in particular although I have been known to cuddle a piglet or a bearded dragon at times! I have always had one or two dogs as an adult. A house just feels empty without them. My love of animals motivated me to complete a degree in animal behaviour. This gave me a really good insight into canine behaviour and the ability to look at a situation from a dogs perspective, this has been invaluable at times. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities, from energetic young dogs to older pets who need a calmer, more gentle approach. My partner Mandy and I are both working from home at the moment so there will be someone available most of the time for back door opening, company and cuddles. We have a loving family home with three children—two teenagers and an eight-year-old who has grown up around animals and is always gentle and respectful. Outside, we have a securely fenced area of the garden where dogs can safely enjoy time outdoors. In the summer, they have access to their own paddling pool. We also have a larger garden for exercise and play, although this area isn't fully escape-proof, so adventurous dogs with a talent for finding gaps may need to stay on a lead or enjoy the secure area instead. About: I have always had a love for cats as they're my favourite animal, I had two cats when I was younger called Jess and Molly who have since sadly passed but I got to love them for their entire lives. I'm now lucky enough take care of my three adorable cats at home; Pageant queen destroyer of the universe who is 2 years old and is reserved but very(!) sassy, Gary who is 20 weeks who is a very cheeky boy who loves to play, and, Striper - the newest addition to our family - he is only 9 weeks old and is slowly beating Gary in play-fights!

This included caring for three pregnant cats through their pregnancies and births, and raising their kittens until they were ready for adoption. Some of my earliest memories are on the family farm with cats everywhere then, after the farm was sold, growing up on a rural property we always had at least one cat. Now I'm a grown up cat dad to Kobi and Cas (as well as a small dog) who are British Shorthair brothers aged 13 years old. Both of my brothers have at least 2 cats too - we're definitely a cat family! About: I grew up with two family dogs who lived to 10 and 12 years old, so caring for dogs has always been a part of my life. Over the years, I helped with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning, and giving dogs attention and companionship. About: I'm experienced in caring for both cats and dogs, and especially passionate about giving excellent care to older and/or medically complex pets. I love the wide variety in cat behaviour, whether they are happiest just existing in the same room, or sitting on my lap, I am always happy to take care of them. While I love all types of dogs, I'm best suited to dogs with less intensive exercise needs, such as smaller breeds or elder dogs. I also have experience taking care of reactive dogs. For drop-ins and dog walks, I may be able to offer a discounted rate in the LA1 3 and LA1 4 areas. My first proper petsitting experience was taking care of my neighbour's cat when they went on holiday. Even once her owners were back from holiday, we got into a routine where she would wait on the front doorstep every day for me to give her chin scritches. My interest in taking care of medically complex pets comes from personal experience, as my family dog suffered a spinal cord injury a few years ago. Luckily, after excellent vet care, he has an excellent quality of life and is very happy, just with shorter walks than before and regular pain-management medication. I'm very happy to take care of pets that need a little extra attention and support, whether that is with medication, toileting, pain management, reactivity, anxiety, and anything else your pet needs support with. If you're going to be away overnight or for multiple days, I recommend house sitting, as this guarantees your pet will receive love and care whenever they need it. I'll probably ask a lot of questions just to make sure their is minimal disruption to your pets regular lifestyle, and will of course send plenty of updates and photos while taking care of them. I primarily work as a petsitter, alongside occasional knit and crochet commissions. This gives me full flexibility to work within your pets' usual routine, and dedicate as much time as they need to be happy, healthy and comfortable. I will care for your pets as you do! I trust that you know what is best for your pet, and will always to my best to minimise any disruption to their usual routine and lifestyle. I understand that some pets can find it stressful to be taken care of by a new person, so am always happy to do home visits ahead of your trip to make sure your pet knows and likes me - or at least, accepts my presence. I am also insured as a petsitter and dog walker, should any incidents occur. For safety reasons, I prefer to provide my own lead for walks - I will bring this along to a meet and greet so that we can check it's comfortable for your dog. If your dog (or cat!) has a usual walk route, I always appreciate it you can map it out for me.

About: I have five years of hands-on experience caring for my family dog, a 7-year-old Pomeranian–Shiba Inu mix weighing around 6 kg. He is energetic and friendly with other dogs, so I am comfortable supervising walks, playtime and social interaction. Since moving to the UK, I have really missed spending time with my dog in Hong Kong. This encouraged me to join this platform so I can continue caring for dogs and provide them with safe, attentive and affectionate companionship. I usually walk him for around 30 minutes in the morning or afternoon and another 90 minutes in the evening. I manage his feeding routine, clean his paws after every walk, bathe and brush him regularly, and brush his teeth weekly. I have also given him deworming treatment and medication for ear irritation. After his neutering surgery, I cared for him during his recovery and monitored his energy levels and behaviour closely. During walks, I remain calm, maintain a steady pace and keep the lead controlled rather than encouraging pulling or running. I am reliable, patient and happy to follow each owner’s feeding, walking and care instructions carefully. I can provide regular photo and message updates. I currently offer dog walking and care at the owner’s home. In an emergency, I would contact the owner immediately and seek veterinary assistance when necessary. I am available every day from July to September, so I have plenty of time for walks, playtime and attentive care. From late September, my availability will depend on my university timetable, but I will regularly update my schedule and communicate clearly with owners before accepting bookings. As my accommodation does not allow pets, I only provide dog walking and drop-in care at the owner’s home. I will follow all feeding, walking, medication and household instructions carefully, keep doors secure and make sure your dog is comfortable and safe. I can also send regular photo and message updates, and I will contact the owner immediately if I notice anything unusual.

About: I grew up around animals and have a love for dogs and cats in particular although I have been known to cuddle a piglet or a bearded dragon at times! I have always had one or two dogs as an adult. A house just feels empty without them. My love of animals motivated me to complete a degree in animal behaviour. We also have a larger garden for exercise and play, although this area isn't fully escape-proof, so adventurous dogs with a talent for finding gaps may need to stay on a lead or enjoy the secure area instead. I always tailor each dog's access to outdoor spaces based on their personality and level of recall to keep them safe. I only accept dogs that I feel will be happy and comfortable in our home environment. This helps ensure a safe, relaxed and enjoyable experience for your dog, our family and our own pets.
